After today's developments, I would just like to say it's an honour to have served in Decred's D-Day. We airdropped hard and we airdropped well. If you consider yourself part of the Decred community and project, you can take pride in the fact that Decred self-funds its development without asking users for a cent. Not before and not after the fact. It's wholly irresponsible to ask users to fund your project and then put their funds in harm's way. That norm needs to change. I'm not a fan of kicking another project when it's down, and I'm just speaking as a member of the community, but it should be said. Decred self-funds for this very reason.
Better to start from the bottom and work our way up, than to start from the top and come crashing down. Been here from the beginning and not going anywhere. I'm proud to own my piece of DCR history  Edit: Hashrate creeping up again...looks like we are back over 10 TH/s |

So we are all waiting for the guy with the 3.46 mil coins wallet to start pumping NIRO again... I mean to pump it "organically".
Maybe he/she will dump into their other bittrex wallets/accounts pushing the price back down under 500sat again. Or maybe this is a shakeout and we will be up over 10k within a few weeks.................time will tell. You do realize that wallet has had over 3mm coins for over a year now (I think since the coinshield days). I doubt they are hodling to dump. |

Is there any calculation what is the cost of mining DCR if the electricity costs 12 cents?
Blake-256 is a very power efficient algorithm. I don't believe there is a mining calculator yet, but you should be able to figure it out on your own with ease. Take the power draw of your gpu(s) and multiply it by the cost of your electricity to determine your mining cost per day. Mine for a few days to see how many DCR you mine on average / day. Then take your profits and subtract and cost of electricity. Voila! I would imagine mining DCR is profitable as it stands... but we are at rock bottom prices at the moment. Mining is more of an investment at this point than a way to generate consistent daily btc returns. |

DCR has shown remarkable stability with it's USD price. It is a good buy here. Yeah $20 next month is delusional, but over a period of time, who knows what we will achieve together? You know what? Troll-Hour is over folks, go away if you don't like this project. Or do you folks listen to music you don't like as well? Here's a way for everyone to connect to the stable droplet-network.  While we're waiting for TEST 4 in which people run Vaults from their homes again, the Maidsafe Devs decided to put up a stable network on their droplets to make sure other devs can test with a stable network, API etc. For those that want to try out The SAFE Network, follow the link, download the Launcher and Demo App and you're good to go. This is what you can do: - Register an account (your username and pass stay on your computer only)
- Register a profilename in the DNS
- Upload your personal website (safesite)
- Browse safe websites (safesites) using your own browser
- Upload private files up to 100MB total (about 4MB each). Files get chunked and encrypted before they leave your computer

Maybe people are starting to realize the "MAID" product sold at Poloniex has zero value backing it, as it merely represents a ticket to ride some vaporous non-existent rollercoaster, if that rollercoaster is ever built.

So Dash is the first self governing crypto that is also self funding? The way it's stated in the OP seems to lay claim to both titles... |
