421  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Time for an Alt Cryptos [ANN]Sub- Forum??? on: January 02, 2014, 04:21:54 AM
Please set up a coin launching section so I can write a scrypt that will automatically download/compile from the git listed and start mining it. That way I can get in on every single coin launch. rofl.

If this has any premine at all it is potentially worthless. Low circulation means a high probably value per coin due to rarity.

Maybe get away for 2% at most.

If there is any premining it will be only for bounties. I don't like premining any more than you do. lol

SHA-256 or Scrypt?

Currently scrypt but I don't think it would be too hard to make it sha-256. Or even go with another alogo like primecoin.
429  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [Pre-ANN] 42 super rare only 42 coins to be mined (Looking for Team Members) on: January 01, 2014, 09:30:20 AM
how many people in the world? how many coins should each person have to make themselves feel rich? my guess...not 42 divided amongst 7 billion plus people. We are looking for the CURRENCY of the future here. Think 100 years from now, not 30 days.

Right now I have it set to distribute all of the coins over a year and then none are made after that point. Its the only way I could keep it at 42. The lowest you can set the block reward is 0.0001 coins. lol

This might even break pool software. Who knows, so many unknown unknowns.

I could up the block time to 5 minutes that would mean we would reach 42 coins about 2.2 years in.

will be easy for the people to find your coin by typing "42" in google... this is just the same shit with a different name, unless you have some very good ideas...

I have never seen a coin with such a low reward per block and overall coins. I want to see what happens, will it break, if it doesn't break what would a coin be worth if it only has 42 max coins ever to be created.

These are unknowns I would like to test. Smiley

Everyone else seems to be pushing the limit on the top end of max coins with 100,000,000,000 max coins. I want to try the opposite.

432  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [Looking for Tutor] Making an AltCoin on: December 31, 2013, 05:38:30 PM
I got them to connect but "setgenerate true" isn't mining the first block but it is showing hashps :/

Also they only connect if one node is set to listen=1

just stop what you're doing right now

I'm not planning to release it, just a learning experience. lol
There are way to many already.

I started a 3rd vps and I have 1 of them set to listen=1. The other 2 are just set up normally.
They connect.. but if i do getpeerinfo on one of the regular coinds it only shows the one I set up with listen=1
the one with listen=1 shows both of the other ones and itself.

Nether of the ones without listen=1 in the config file see each other.

Hahaha, I mined a block. Smiley It wasnt on testnet tho. lol

Sorry guys I shot the moon.

I took a big 'ol 2BTC dump on the moon, Neil Armstrong was a witness and he said it was huge.

Hey, why don't you donate me one of your cards.... You don't need all that spare hashing power.

You can have the one I burned out 2 weeks ago. It smoked up my room. lol

Was it a 7990? =(

7950 Sad

No worries I have 9 other cards. Smiley

Next year I want to be where you are. Figuratively speaking.

You can move in here. I'm moving to Colorado where the legal pot is plentiful and everybody knows your name. Or is that cheers? lol

That's not the kind of hashing power I had in mind.  Wink

In all seriousness Its a living hell in my room during the summer. I cant afford to run the AC because the rigs make it run 24/7. I eventually figured out an awesome way to circulate the air efficiently and keep my house cool was to use a furnace blower and stick it in a window pushing air out. The air coming in the windows could knock a hat off your head. lol

Really?

Yes, really. I got in a rocket with Neal fucking Armstrong and flew to the moon. Once there I proceeded to drop my pants, in a vacuum mind you, and defecated. Not an easy task I'm telling you. Neal and I had a good laugh about me being the first person to take a literal shit on the moon.

This is by far the fastest pump&dump I have ever seen.

We are breaking records people.
