641  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 5 days! My LTC withdraw is still not ok. https://phenixex.com/ Give me an answer on: September 23, 2013, 01:51:42 AM
I will never use this exchange again...

6 days and still waiting on my withdraw.

looks like they are holding a lot of peoples coins ( 1,000LTC + ) (5,000,000 ADT +) and a whole bunch of other coins

They should be glad they are only holding 0.22btc from me. If it were more I would burn them to the ground. lol jk, or am i? lol

BigVern  @cryptsy

I am currently performing some maintenance on deposit and withdrawals.  There will be delays in processing until complete

From their Twitter feed, he's just performing some maintenance.

I hope its just a bug related to that, I would hate to see an exchange that supports so many coins go down because ppl can put their coins into the negative.

I mean what stops ppl from going -110btc instead of florins lol
644  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Nice Cryptsy bug, possibly exploitable, better fix your exchange. on: September 22, 2013, 10:13:14 PM
So somehow my florin balance on cryptsy is -110. How that happened I don't know but it shouldn't be possible.

mcxNow doesn't have these kind of bugs.
645  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Phishing attempt disguised as Cryptsy Email - Please read and protect yourself on: September 21, 2013, 10:49:29 PM
This is a real email from Cryptsy.  They use freshdesk for their support ticket system, which uses a seperate account.  I wouldn't activate that link if you haven't used their support ticket though.  But http://cryptsy.freshdesk.com is affiliated with cryptsy that's for sure.

I registered my account with cryptsy months ago, why would I be getting an account activation email now?

This is my original registration activation email. Its from Cryptsy.com not freshdesk.

646  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Phishing attempt disguised as Cryptsy Email - Please read and protect yourself on: September 21, 2013, 08:57:09 PM
I just got an email appearing to be from Cryptsy asking me to activate my account. Its obvious to me that it is a phishing attempt. It may not be obvious to everyone so I'm posting this to let everyone know to be on the lookout for phishing emails appearing to come from exchanges.

Here is a copy/screenshot of the email.

It came from (Cryptsy.com support@cryptsy.com via email.freshdesk.com)
Subject: Cryptsy.com user activation

647  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [USA - NOW OPEN] 0.79-0.9 BPMC "RED FURY" 2.2-2.7 GH/s USB MINER! GB#9! on: September 21, 2013, 07:50:43 PM
Just curious. Not trying to run off your business or anything. But isn't it cheaper per gh/s to buy asic blades? I know the power consumption will be lower but the asic blades are already pennies a day to run.

Like right now I can get 10.7gh/s for 3.65btc by buying an asic blade.
or I could buy 4 Red Fury USB miners and get 10gh/s for 3.6btc.

But here is the kicker. I can get the asic blade shipped to me in under 3 days and be hashing immediately.
I would have to wait 2+ weeks to receive a Red Fury. We should see asic blades drop below 3btc each within 2 weeks.
Also difficulty of bitcoin will go up quite a bit in 2 weeks. We all know the more time it takes to get an asic the less you will make and the chance of making ROI goes down dramatically.

Its pretty obvious if you are going to be buying mining hardware that you should get an asic blade.

Can anyone counter this argument?

When do you expect to be fixed a problem with a non-appeared WDC deposits?

Hard to say. I think most problems around deposits and withdraws have been fixed now. I can't promise anything other then he's working on it as fast as he can. Thanks for your patience !

Maybe it's just the photo or something, but those wires look like 20ga. They look really thin.

Worse, I just looked at the wire and its 22ga.

That is a nice PSU, and I would probably be better off with that, but I really need something I can pick up today, since I'm loosing money every day this blade isn't hashing.

Here is what I do when I need a part TODAY but cant wait for shipping.

Staples has a 14 day return policy.

go buy a PSU from staples, order the one you want online. Once the one that you ordered comes in, take the staples one back.

653  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] profit switching auto-exchanging pool - middlecoin.com on: September 17, 2013, 08:19:54 PM
Yeah. 1 GH/s is way too much for some of these coins.

Part of my calculations include looking at past results of profits. So if there is a coin with some problem, that will be accounted for. I don't think pre-mining like you say would be good, because you'd lose out on that 2 minutes of profit. And past results are probably a good enough indicator.

I really want to split up the hashrate like you say. It's going to be hard to figure out how to make the payouts fair though. Do I randomly choose the people who get to mine on the smaller pool, or is it who has the lowest reject rate? And do their extra profits get distributed into the main pool?

It's a pool, so all of the profits would be distributed into the pool regardless of the coin that particular miner is mining.

2 hour period:

Miner A is mining FTC
Miner B is mining CAP
Miner C is mining DCG
Miner D is mining CRAP
Miners E-Z are mining LTC

For that 2 hour period they all get shares that are distributed amongst all of the coins being mined.  I am sure there are flaws in that idea since I have never operated a pool.

Regardless of the coin mined it is being transferred into bitcoin so its easy math to split it up.

TotalBTC*(UserShares/TotalShares)=RoundPayout
or something along those lines.

It doesn't matter who mines what, its a pool, no one gets special treatment or higher payouts per share.

Is the pool currently splitting shares of each coin mined? or is it spiting shares after the coins have been traded into bitcoin?

Once the pool changes to a new coin are the current open shares lost? Or do they roll over to the next coin mined?

How long do shares last? 1 round or more?

What needs to happen is the shares should be counted over all per round no matter the coin mined, then each round is paid out in bitcoin split out amongst the whole. Shares should roll over to the next coin mined if a block is not found and the shares are still open.

Okay the Server address fields are not resetting now but no mining is occuring.

is it accepting anything? or is it 0000?

You may have to set up a proxy on a computer on the network.
