421  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: May 23, 2017, 10:11:27 PM
We are now at the top of the trading band since may 14.  If it breaks 227, then a spike up is likely, with the old resistance acting as support.  In that scenario we might see a lot of long-term capital come in, diversification flows from other speculative winners especially.  If it rejects this level, it is likely to try a fib level retrace.

Doesn't look like 227 was rejected...

Wink

It was rejected....rejected as a barrier in price.
422  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: May 23, 2017, 12:29:01 PM
Monero's main competition at this point is probably Dash, ZCash and now Bytecoin.

All three of those have doubled or tripled quadruped or gone up 1000% in a week.  Monero has actually doubled in USD terms in the last month or so, which is usually astounding and impressive, but just seems like major underperforming in the current market environment.

It has been very frustrating to hold XMR, but up 100% in a few weeks is better than losing money.  So have mixed feelings about it and I just don't know why there isn't better marketing for XMR and why the website is primitive and unattractive.

Anyway maybe it will catch fire eventually, although I'm not holding my breath.

You know you are in a bubble when 100% in a month is not enough.
423  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: May 22, 2017, 07:41:43 PM
Geez you guys live in denial....  Huh

If a person is not circle jerking, he must be speaking to his own book...

Your post history speaks for itself. Take a look in the mirror first.
424  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: May 22, 2017, 07:35:54 PM
is all the money that went to altcoins going back to bitcoin? Massive dump incoming? Will monero resist? Make your bets
I expect a huge dump, xmr could surprise(greater fools buying a coin with obsolete tech), i expect below 0.01 again unless btc fails hard due to the scalability issue.

I do not usually agree with you but I think you got this pretty well.
Right now I think Monero is severaly overpriced and hyped coin with a lot of downside risk but limited upside potential.

lmao ure such a noob

How on Earth is XMR overvalued

Every shitcoin is worth more than XMR and barely of any inherent value

ZEC at 250, ETH at 180, DASH at 130, GNO at 230 and so many other shitcoins

XMR at 35 bucks is like heaven, Monero will pump to 100-200 dollars this year

Better get some noob  Grin Tongue

Alts are in a bubble - including XMR. Bear in mind, I sold already a nice part of my stash over 0.02 btc but I am not even considering buying anything at current prices despite it would be profitable.

Monero is lacking the most important thing which is marketing and hype. Therefore it cannot find new people adapting it and eventually the price will start declining as the old guys are starting to feel how hard it is to carry a heavy bag.

Are you quacking your book?

Let us all hope this is not another "LTC on Gox " scenario.

I'm at consensus 2017 conference and the topic Of this session is called "Chasing privacy in blockchains"....

And no fluffypony ?

 Cheesy

Oh fluffy one where art thou?

427  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: May 20, 2017, 07:34:18 AM
I am glad I have decreased my exposure to Monero as the focus is not on adaption (or marketing).
Monero is very much like a project that the boyz are having in their garages rather than a serious project to make Monero available for the whole human race.

It is extremely unlikely Monero will be significiantly worth more than it is now (unless bitcoin rises which is not a merit of XMR).

I am glad you have as well.

Monero doesn't need more pump and dumpers. You flip flop so often and talk your book so clearly. Please go away and don't pay any attention monero if you truly do not believe it is a worthwhile project.

But I suspect you will continue to lurk until you feel you can make another pretty penny...assuming you do make some.
428  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: rpietila's Crypto Kingdom game is a scam, heavily in debt. Do not deposit funds. on: May 19, 2017, 02:32:59 PM
Oh my God Smooth has the balls to call _anything_ a "scam"Huh

His entire professional career revolves around scamming people out of money.

Of course Reptilia is a scammer. We've all known that for years. The same thing about you, Smooth.

Talk about the pot calling the kettle black. Anybody involved in XMR is a wasteman, that's as certain as the sun coming up in the morning.

Proof of claims and links please.

I don't have that much time to waste, but you basically spent years lying on this forum in order to promote your own financial welfare. I choose to spend my time in other ways. I just think its hilarious that you're calling somebody a scammer when you're one of the most fraudulent posters I've ever seen in action. Frankly I hope you lost a lot of money, to somebody with even more money than you. That's usually the way it goes. Welcome to planet earth.

Lol you obviously can't read.

I'm smoothie

You are accusing smooth of lying etc.

Now back to reality. Where is your evidence/links/proof?

ROFL

WTS(OTC): 57,000 XMR for EUR/E1/USD/BTC/whatever.

I am about to pay some debts(, und keine Intention die Preise in dem Prozess zu zerstören..).

I read PM daily, usually about 6-9 pm UTC+2.

Are you using escrow?

I suggest anyone dealing with risto to use a reputable escrow and have him pay for the escrow fees if any.

Major News: https://getmonero.org/2017/05/17/disclosure-of-a-major-bug-in-cryptonote-based-currencies.html

Monero chain controlled by devs and unnafected.

great Jobs from devs, this issue was handled as professionally as possible. also monero maybe made some friends in the process by playing fair.

Bravo for the well handled issue that would have been devastating to XMR altogether should such information got into the wrong hands at the wrong time.

Very proud of the development team.
432  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: May 18, 2017, 08:02:42 AM
Yes this is a joke. XMR isn't doing sh*t and every coin around it is rocketing upwards.  I think lack of a mobile wallet and the weak Windows wallet is just hurting it and there are newer, "hotter" coins that are shooting upwards.  But definitely missing out on the party being in XMR right now.

What will be entertaining is watching all of those rocketing coins around "us" explode when their pumps finish and then gravity kicks in.

These "hotter" coins are going to be just like a hot potato. Don't get caught holding it when the music stops.

Fireworks will be for the patient, popcorn will be free as well.

Stock up.   Cheesy

What would be entertaining would be to dig out some exchanges from this thread from 2014 that were exactly the same. Some hot coin or another was always the new favorite on poloniex, one after another. Most of those coins are now dead and/or delisted.

When the dust settles....there is XMR still.

Fireworks produce lots of debris and dust. I suspect there will be only a few left standing.

Lots of "dumb money" entering the space.

Is it still worth to buy xmr?or better invest in eth?

Your best bet may be to seek a financial advisor or pay for some trading courses. I'm sure there are some around here and there.

Getting trading advice on this forum is probably not the best place get it from.
435  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: May 17, 2017, 06:01:58 PM
As an investor, unfortunately i totally give up investing on XMR anymore. It is such a nice project and very undervalued imo. But something is wrong maybe advertisements or maybe some internal issues i dont know. But the price is not growing for really long. When many shit projects already multiplied their volume and price, monero is still like a turtle.

Price doesn't determine longevity of a project.

Nor does it determine the legitimacy of one either.

436  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Bitcoin Core Developers won't compromise on: May 16, 2017, 08:35:26 AM
I sent a transaction 5 days ago with the proper fee...

It still has 0 confirmations.  Undecided

Bitcoin is practically useless at this point until one of these scaling proposals are activated.

What is "unusable" to you, is usable to others.

If you used the "proper" fee your tx would have confirmed by now.

Not to mention there is a thing called Replace By Fee which you could have used (did you?) where you can submit another tx with a different fee amount after the fact to make sure it gets confirmed assuming you've been waiting for a while, which you have been.
437  Economy / Speculation / Re: Warning: Bubble about to pop. on: May 14, 2017, 09:18:33 AM
You guys all keep ignoring the elephant in the room that caused this hype in the first place and will also cause the crash....

The hard fork. BU is gaining support daily nearing 50% while SW support is diminishing.
When it actually hits 50% in a week or so shit will hit the fan. Every single whale will dump all he has and the average Joe will follow selling at great losses.

This type of logic/thinking ^ is very similar to trying to equate and rationalize 9/11 and the war on Terror because of "Osama Bin Laden".

 Cheesy

Did you believe that narrative?
438  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: $0.85 transaction fee is absolutely ridiculous! on: May 13, 2017, 07:58:46 PM
Am I the only one realizing that ~$1 fee to make a transaction is absolutely insane and defeats one of the core benefits of using bitcoin for daily transactions.

This is getting insane and is completely uncalled for, or am I wrong?

Would rather pay a $1 fee than a bank wire fee of up to $20 to $50 to send funds.

Not to mention it is faster than sending a wire if you use a right fee amount.
439  Economy / Speculation / Re: Warning: Bubble about to pop. on: May 13, 2017, 01:07:15 AM
Oh look at that nice balloon deflating... who could have expected that?

As if the price going down really gives you any credibility. Markets move...they go up and down...not surprising.

That's like saying the sun will rise then set tomorrow. Whooptie dooo....

Congratulations you deserve a cookie.
