I miss the 34:345 option on this latest release.  For me it means less HW errors than 350.
Switched back to strombom killing noise Tongue

Before I tried start cgminer manually but I could not make it work  -- dumb? Embarrassed

I upgraded the power supply to a Corsair AX850 and now at 350MHz I'm pulling about 720 watts from the wall.  The stock power supply is an Enermax 750 watt gold power supply, but it looks like it can't run very efficiently near it's maximum load and is probably very unstable given the number of hardware errors I was seeing with it at 325 MHz.

The Season X-650 is a 650watt power supply, so you may be overloading it and that's why you're seeing 870watts.

Any improvements?

Just a reminder about heat

I have reconditioned all the heat sinks on Avalon modules, most of the chips have no thermal compound contact with heatsink. Unless you also did the recondition and added thermal compound between chips and heatsinks, you might get overheat for the chips (The added heat from overclock are not transferred to heatsink quickly enough)

Running all the fan at 100% might help though

Good to know that Avalon can be run at 350 Mhz! But I will skip the overclock for now, it's summer here Smiley

Ive seen your recondition before and did not ask, is this how it is supposed to be? What thermal paste you recommend?

Im used to see the heatsink on top of the chip, so, yes this looks strange to me

Don't forget that DHL gives up to 90% discount if you send frequently larger amounts of parcels. AFAIK even few hundreds monthly gives you 50-70% discount if you know how to negotiate.

That is a much better deal!
427  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon batch [2] countdown! on: June 21, 2013, 06:52:36 AM
The volumetric weight is 23kg/48lbs which makes sense why its listed as higher I guess.

Cheers guys.

To send such box from HK to USA, UK or Sweden, using DHL, one would pay around 270 US Dollars which is cheap compared to other destinations,

to Brazil, Cuba, or Russia, that would cost 700 USD

Would anyone do me a favour and measure the dimensions?

widht,weight;? etc? in centimeters?

39.5*45*16.5

Smiley
Is that external of the packaging, and you sure that's in cm?
external is 56x56x36

I am seriously thinking of making a small website for an order book for direct shares that any user can post bid or ask. Of course the trades would be done via pms afterwards and through fried cat but I would spare the forums tons of new auctions and threads always containing the same old story, Numbers of shares to sell, Price, TXID to proof ownership, signed message.... I believe this would be helpful.

Do you suggest I go for it or it would be wasted effort?

I suggest you do it if noone else is planning the same. Is a similar market place on asicminer to-do list?

I think i got my machine today I have a DHL sticker on my door and money I owe  $197.87, and kinda upset I didnt get any tracking number and have to wait till tomorrow to get it Sad

Are you in the USA?

I am curious what customs fee we will have to pay in the USA.  I didn't have to pay a dime with ASICMiner Blades.

I'm from Canada... looks like I will be there before 8AM when they open up... so they don't come with power cables? and wifi won't work out of the box?

No power cables, the wifi signal should work well without antenna since its 703n  router default design, but being inside of that box makes it weaker(someone explain), find the antenna or go by wire, which is very much recommended, Im, running avalons here and the uptime is really good after I moved to wire, not one single restart for more than 40 hours.

People waiting DHL should call them and ask if there is incoming package. And get a pair of ear mufflers, if not, you will be tempted to sell the unit the moment you power it on.

Unsure where to mine? Ozcoin is good to balance the pool load, I think soon we will see the hashrate raising again Tongue

Forget the newsletter. I just want to receive my Avalon machine.
I saw someone with 21XX order number already received. But my 13XX order still nothing updated.

Did you follow the instructions on how to open the ticket? Exactly how it was written?
Just wait now, you are in China probably wont get the tracking number

That is also something I wanted to ask.
Are we seeing namecoin on Stratum soon?
