If I want to run a full node with mining enabled, can I create an empty wallet, then find 10k (soon 1k, I heard) leasing on it to activate mining,
or the 10k has to be directly on the node wallet ?

You need to have the coins in your wallet. If you lease them to a node they are locked, and you get your interest from the node operators (most nodes pay out weekly).
The Wave-Coins never leave your wallet, even when leased to a full node.

You can also lease to your own node.

That's my question,
I would run a full node on the future, but I don't want to place my Waves at risk by leaving them on the server.

What I want is setup my full node, with 0 Waves on it, then lease from an other safe wallet to activate mining.
It's wonderful if that's really possible !

What is the target of the wave 5?

425  Economy / Economics / Re: Obligatory: Is Bitcoin Cash A Bubble? on: November 29, 2017, 12:23:42 PM
Bitcoin Cash is not a bubble. The force of demand and supplied is what is influenced it price. The developers are doing good job and that is why many traders and investors are patronise it.  I think bitcoin Cash will hit it all time high before end of this week. I have been following it price action since August and I think this coin is good and investing in it is the right thing to do now.

Sorry, but Roger placing a 10k BTC buy wall is only the reflection of an artificial price.
426  Economy / Speculation / Re: Nights Watch by Afrikoin on: November 28, 2017, 01:22:54 PM
So far Bitcoin is following the pattern of the Jesse Livermore Speculative Chart. In other words, we may have seen the top for this year.

https://twitter.com/TuurDemeester/status/899825383079636992

Still missing a '10' there. I think we'll be seeing a real correction after the next move up to $6000, then some more fork drama and a failed attempt to move everyone over to Bcash until BTC finally breaks free for real towards $10k and beyond.

Sorry for shamelessly quoting myself here, but the above is pretty much what has happened. There was a move up to $5000 after this, then a correction to $3000, then all the way up to $7800 followed by a correction to $5500 together with more fork drama and a failed attempt to move everyone over to Bcash. And now BTC has broken free from its restraints and is about to pass $10k. Cool Kiss

If we zoom out, we are only on the "2".

There is some credit card that support Waves ?

I know Wirex does.

Traffic jam on the blockchain highway

edit:
* situation 1h later:

Hehe, looks like someone was really testing the blockchain Smiley

After the Waves-NG launch we can handle 8.6 million transactions per day (100tx/s) and it can be increased to at least 86 million transactions per day when needed.

Should be enough Wink Worlds most adopted cryptocurrency, Bitcoin, can only handle ~650,000 tx/day.

Should be enough atm, but if the DEX start to attract a lot of new users, the nodes will have to be optimized

That is a really big push. It is understandable that there might be some sort of delays when having so much traffic. How many transactions a second would you expect when the new Dex ui will be up and running?

IDK but 100tx/s should be enough Grin
And even if it's full, it doesn't really matter to wait a few seconds before it's executed.

431  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: LTC price 100 USD? on: November 23, 2017, 10:51:24 AM
Lmao. LTC price will continue to fall. Bitcoin has stabilized as the primary option for virtual currency. There is nothing LTC can do that BTC cannot. With that being said, there's not a high chance that prices will ever reach $100. Rule of substitutions.

I don't think so.
It may fall on short/medium terms, but somedays we will see a FOMO pump due to the atomic swap with BTC.
That will happen once a wallet will support that the easy way for an average crypto-joe.

434  Economy / Speculation / Re: Roger Ver's trick to drop BTC to $1300: a call to whales to SELL NOW PLEASE! on: November 15, 2017, 01:44:08 PM
He won't try to destroy BTC.
The balance between BCH & BTC is so rewarding that he need to keep the things going as it's now.
435  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: “Waves-NG” - Waves to become the fastest blockchain platform in the world on: November 15, 2017, 01:39:20 PM
I also like the new Waves-NG but I think the platform need something more than just speed transactions. Take the bitcoin for example, it's not the fastest not even most innovative but it's trusted.

At the moment:
Aliases
Leasing PoS (mining with your computer off, and your coins still in your wallet)
In-built DEX, almost fast as a centralized exchange
Fixed supplies (100M)
One-click token creation
Gateways (BTC, ETH, USD, EUR, etc)

Soon:
Waves NG on mainnet
New DEX UI

Later:
Smart contract
Decentralized messaging

Maybe I forgot some.

Please state below if there is any upcoming event that you know in any altcoin that will be a gamebreaker such as masternode release, coin burns, roadmap achievement, new site release, rebranding etc.

Waves NG + new DEX

Awesome news on Waves!  The stress test went very well, you can check the result in the blogpost!

https://blog.wavesplatform.com/waves-ng-stress-test-results-in-44090f59bb15

"The nodes processed a total of 4.6 million transactions, giving an average throughput of 2,000 txs/minute. Peak bandwidth was 17,000 txs/minute. When it comes to running the software on mainnet, we expect nodes to be able to process up to 6,000 txs/minute, or 100 per second."

This is great. So waves is going to be the coin with the most txs/minute? Is there any other coin out there with similar stats?

Bitcore (BTX) can process 42k txs per minute (60.8 mio per 24hr) . It is growing exponentially. Waves NG's speed was impressive however. These speeds are crypto approriate Cheesy

Were did you got that info ? BTX blocks has a 10min interval.
Waves NG keyblocks has 1min interval, and 3sec for microblocks.

Not sure but I think Waves, with NG, have the fastest onchain Tx handling.
439  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: STRATIS or WAVES or ARK? on: November 09, 2017, 04:28:08 PM
I think all are good but in may case...
ARK - 25% of my portfolio
STRAT - 5% of my portfolio
WAVES - I don't have any

WAVES I was excited with it earlier but after I went in deeper, I lost interest/faith in it.  As I posted before, maybe it is worth another look.

Im interested in why you came to this point of view? Why did you loose faith? I also just started a few months ago with waves, and so far, there was really nothing that made a bad impression (only the trade volume on the DEX could be higher, but thats not WAVES fault). Please share your thoughts with me  Smiley

I watched a WAVES sales video on how easy it is to create a token with it.  That sales pitch to me is like a giant red flag.  I used to work on IT (2 decades ago) and none with such "nice" feature survived.  I equate the tokens created on it to instant noodles...it is super convenient, easy, and cheap but at the end of the day it is not comparable to one that is properly prepared and cooked by a chef.

Not sure if I am making sense but that is it for me.

You can't compare cooking and create a token  Grin
Your token won't be better because you spent hours to create it. Minutes or hours, the result is the same: you have a token with a good taste.
440  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Waves Vs. Ethereum on: November 09, 2017, 04:24:12 PM
Waves can't be the next ethereum. Yes they do try to make things easier for the end user, but they still lack customization that Ether offers. With Ether you can do whatever you want, while with Waves you are kinda restricted. The good things about waves is that its network is kinda more efficient, which means it can process more transaction and people don't have to wait long for their transaction to process. But experienced projects and developers usually go for Ethereum because they can program it according to their preferences and they are not set-back by already applied rules that Waves has. It doesn't mean that there is no market out there for Waves, it just means that it will be much smaller than what Ethereum has.

Even programming bugs that cause some millions to be lost "accidentally" Grin

Waves is still under dev., but once they finish to implement the smart contracts, the platform will be better to use so far.

Waves is still very young, it's hard to compare yet.
