Why did you choose sha-256

Claim most hash available, so... most hash available to wreck your chain by any minor BTC miners (let alone obviously major farms)

Any of you guys been following this thread? Also really cool to see the 9th edition of this thread hit, especially along w/ some VERY overdue positive price movement.

An interesting argument is made for the 2060
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5135665.new#new
I certainly have.
The 2060's have the shortest time to break even on your investment (commonly - erroneously - known as ROI around here)... at least when looking at new GPUs. Some might argue the 6GB of ram could be limiting... but so far I haven't seen many algos where that would be the case. C31 being one, but it's basically asic fodder so not interesting anymore anyway.
haha I know you definitely have, and yes I think you make a great point. A lot of people, myself included want to think you "need" 8gb moving forward, but atm 6gb is more than sufficient ... as always time will tell I guess Huh
425  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining Analysis on: June 03, 2019, 05:21:19 PM

Do you have a reference for what you used as the "avg ebay price"

Not really - it gets a little squishy at this point. I did use "advanced search"; Check on the "sold Listing" box; include shipping; toss out lowest and highest; eyeball with a hand calculator 5 or 6 recent sales. It's not about tracking the best deal, but rather seeing the general trend in the market. The used market is tricky, not sure if would defend my method, but it helps me see the over all used GPU market. For example, EVGA had RTX 2060, B-stock on sale for $299 plus $15 tax and free shipping - I view B-stock as used - and now I can compare it to the rest of the used market, (and I bought 2).

Not perfect, but a benchmark that helps me.

I appreciate the feedback & cool to hear your methodology Cheesy

What prices did you end of using for each model then?
426  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain Antminer Bitcoin Cash & Bitcoin Miners Review | S17 vs S17 Pro vs T17 on: June 03, 2019, 02:42:17 PM
I have the s17 pro 53th.

It was not cheap I paid 2214.

I like it but not sure if I want more of them.

Fortunately, BTC has done pretty well since these originally went up for sale (you know BTC up and Bitmain jacks their prices, what a great company they are)

Are you happy with your purchase & what mode did you end up running yours in w/ your solar?

I think I'm going to switch to Ebay average prices for the old 10 series.
The 1660's and the 2060's are still the best value. I think the 20 series is the safer bet for the long run, but who knows...

429  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Is the Nvidia 1650 Worth It for Mining or Gaming? 1650 Mining Hashrates & Review on: May 29, 2019, 01:21:18 PM
thank you very much and im watching it right now, i thought that this one will better to be used for gaming purpose only. I was picked some rx580 second hand condition and already delisted this one from my list (I paid $160 for each rx580 8GB). Did you pay $170 for a new 1650?

Yeah $170 shipped w/ taxes here in the US, at this price point its one of the worst values for mining :O, you could buy a new rx card for less or get 2-3 rx cards used for the same price of one of these.
430  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Is the Nvidia 1650 Worth It for Mining or Gaming? 1650 Mining Hashrates & Review on: May 29, 2019, 12:06:54 AM
Let's review the Nvidia 1650 GPU and determine if its mining and gaming performance make it worth buying!
If you have been wondering the the Nvidia Geforce GTX 1650 is worth it for mining or even gaming then good news... I wasted I mean spent $170 to get one to review! In todays 1650 review video I will be going over quickly the gaming performance of the 1650 as well as running the 1650 through numerous GPU mining benchmarks on popular GPU mineable cryptocurrencies. Hashrates for coins like Ethereum, Beam, Ravencoin, Bitcoin Gold, and others will be covered in todays video. Lets determine if the 1650 is a bang for buck GPU for mining or a total flop!

You can watch the whole in-depth video review here
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UKRXwlQwHMc

edit I miscalculated raven and beam earnings, they still are not profitable and fall under ETH.

You can review the 1650 mining hashrates benchmark chart here -- Full write-up here -► http://voskco.in/1650HRs

Here's my review on the Bitmain S17 Pro, I compare it directly with the S17 and T17 on Bitcoin mining profitability. This miner can mine Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash, as well as anything else on the sha-256 mining algorithm. I don't post in the Bitcoin mining section because mods delete my threads 10 out of 10 times Cheesy

So I got myself a couple of Asus RTX 2060 on the back of the analysis from this thread. Thanks again, WickedPigeon, it was the best comparison I had seen so far around here.

I can confirm the figures are accurate, I'm getting pretty much exactly the same speeds as my 1080's for approx 10-15W less per card.

Running the 2060's at 75% PL, +100 core, -500 mem.
@WickedPigeon, what are you running yours at out of curiosity?

x2 what are your 2060 settings & card brand / mem Huh

Here is my overview and review of Luckpool which is developed, owned, and operated by hellcatz. Luckpool is a equihash mining pool with options to mine
ZenCash / ZEN
Zclassic / ZCL
Hush / HUSH
Komodo / KMD
Zcash / ZEC
Bitcoinz / BTCZ
Votecoin / VOT
The interesting twist with Luckpool.org is that the miner who finds the actual block on whatever coin they are mining is compensated directly with an additional reward (varies on coin) dubbed the Miner's Jackpot

436  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 1.4m of Bitcoin Miners STOLEN | BTC Hits 2019 ATH | Facebook | Dogecoin on: May 08, 2019, 01:04:45 PM
Naturally, as Bitcoin hits its all-time high (so far) for 2019, there is no shortage of interesting cryptocurrency news. Approximately 1.4 million dollars of Bitcoin ASIC miners (Bitmain Antminer S9j's) were stolen from a hosting facility in NY, USA. Facebook is seeking 1 billion to back their cryptocurrency blockchain based stablecoin for their payment processing platform. Bitcoin mining gear is apparently increasing in value along with the price of Bitcoin miners. Coinbase wallet adds Dogecoin support, so it is pretty obvious that you will be able to buy and sell Dogecoin on Coinbase in the future -- most likely 2019, and more in today's crypto news update!

Why giving us this kind of news when there is a bull run in the price of bitcoin , and though you say it as if it is a good thing that bitcoin miners were stolen, don't you know that if we have that much miners stolen, that means we would have a lot of hanging unconfirmed transaction on the blockchain, making the cost for transaction fees very high, so I don't think we need this kind of news in the crypto space at the moment because it's not a good one for the bull run, all you need is talk about the moon and it's benefit.

I never knew you were writing from a channel and putting it in here, I have seen situations where a lot of persons come over to this forum in order to create topics that will scare a lot of investors in the Crypto space and begin to cause a dip in price, I believe this people are enemies of the Crypto space and will do anything possible to make sure we don't see the bull run we have been waiting for a long time.

I am very much a friend of the crypto space, with over 200 videos informing and educating on cryptocurrency as well as sharing my journey in it Cheesy
437  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Bankrupt Mining Farm to Launch Trading | Ethereum Futures | Winklevoss Mining on: May 08, 2019, 02:14:49 AM
In today's cryptocurrency news update we touch on Bitcoin and Ethereum reaching new 2019 ATH's as well as their market cap. Bcause LLC a Bitcoin Cash mining farm "data center" is launching a crypto trading and futures service. Scott Offord has released the most extensive and best Bitcoin mining hardware profit calculator. CFTC states that basically, they will approve Ethereum futures trading. WeChat bans cryptocurrency transactions. Microsoft releases a blockchain kit for Ethereum. Winklevoss twins invest in remote mining farms based off of natural gas. Half of all Bitcoin Cash transactions are coming from just one address.

439  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: GTX 1650 hashrates on: May 07, 2019, 12:28:43 PM
It should have the same hashrate as a Gtx 1050 ti at least in Ethereum daggerhashimoto algorithm because not much has changed.

This card is only a few days out and I think no one will care to buy it for mining as it is not suitable for it.I think it will have a 15-16 Mhs processing power.
This card is a little bit better only thanks to 12-mn technology. It is 20-25% gain in electricity bill.

Even so the hashrate should be the same and only 20-25% gain in electricity does not justify to build a mining rig with these cards.True difference is made or is to be made with 1660 ti which has Gddr6 memory because the price difference is not so much.
Agree with you. GTX1660Ti is the best mining GPU at the moment. It has performance almost equal to GTX1070 with lower consumption and price.
I`d prefer 2060 but you are right. 1660ti have the best ROI to date.
It will be just hangar with  1650 with profit as 10 rigs with 1660ti or 2060

The 2060 minimum power limit is 125 watts, this prevents it from being able to be set for optimum efficency.

1650 costs $70 less than a 1660, but its $/hash is lower.

1660's have the best $/hash or fastest ROI.

did you get one in to test?
