442  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: All coins are now dying, what do you think? on: February 23, 2018, 04:53:12 PM
Altcoins are not dying, at least not to good ones.

On the other hand, shitcoins should be banned from this forum and everywhere else.

Unfortunately, some of these scams are thriving or have recently thrived until they have attracted a reasonable number of victim investors.

443  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: How to make money from staking? on: February 23, 2018, 04:47:17 PM
It's hard to find a coin with staking facility with good return..

No, it's not! All you have to do is research.

Diamond Coin can't be easier.

1 - Download wallet

2 - Purchase coins

3 - Transfer to wallet

4 - Keep wallet open

5 -Be patiente...

Voila!

444  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do we Need Altcoin? on: February 23, 2018, 04:44:59 PM
There are Bitcoin, and also there are Bitcoin Cash and Bitcoin Gold and B2X that we use it as an altcoin, but do we still need other altcoins? as i knew in the forum on the altcoin section there are much announcement about new altcoins almost everyday. do we still need that altcoins?

Altcoins are now an essential part of the whole crypto ecosystem. Therefore, it is fair to say that not only we need altcoins but the system can no longer function without altcoins.

I believe that 99% of altcoyins will die, but nevertheless many new projects offer excellent solutions to problems with the help of a blockchain around the world! If there were no interesting, new projects, the market would not be so interesting for investors.

True, we don't need to have as many altcoins but there's little that can be done to prevent the rise of all these scams.

The only solution is to educate the newbie investors in order to stop them before investing money in some shit coin bound to disappear in a couple of weeks.
445  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you truly believe in cryptocurrency on: February 23, 2018, 04:38:14 PM
Yes.  I believe that the crypto market will become way bigger than it is now and that it will make numerous millionaires.

I also believe that the majority of current tokens will end up nearly worthless and will make lots of people go broke.

It's more than just the market; it's the deep meaning of the whole crypto revolution as Nakamoto envisioned it.

  • The possibility of having digital, portable, fungible, safe assets completely outside the Big Brother's scope.
  • The possibility to generate revenue using never before used technological tools.
  • The possibility of these tools be eco friendly and profitable, like the Proof of Stake.
  • The existence of a vibrant and growing market to trade these assets.

A bright new world ahead of us!
446  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum will overtake Bitcoin on: February 21, 2018, 11:19:41 PM
I think this is unlikely. If the Etherеum is more expensive than Bitcoin. That Bitcoin will cost less than $ 1000. What the miners will not allow.

Miners are the ones who are killing Bitcoin. Due to their greed, they sabotaged both SegWit2X and Lighning Network. And the transaction fee skyrocketed, resulting in the reduced usage of Bitcoin by the businesses. Now the fee is back to normal, but the damage can't be undone.

That's true but what about ETH miners? What will they do once ETH moves to PoS? That's the real question, isn't it?

For now, it is still profitable to mine ETH at home with a dozen GPU and that makes ETH a very popular crypto currency.

But once the mining is over, nobody knows what will happen.

I'm hoping for Casper to be a major success and eagerly waiting to stake my ETH...

Will this be enough to close the gap to BTC? Who knows?
447  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum will overtake Bitcoin on: February 20, 2018, 10:52:13 AM
It is all pending on the evolution of the tech specs; BTC is still facing major difficulties and ETH will eventually shift to PoS.

Will BTC's devs manage to solve all of the current problems?

Will ETH's Casper algorithm implementation succeed?

The plot thickens... stay tuned!

Acho que o cartão do Bitstamp está ativo, não li nada no site que foi cancelado...

Taxas aqui: https://www.bitstamp.net/fee_schedule/

Não deve ser VISA em euro, talvez seja porque é apenas em US Dollars?
449  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: All coins are now dying, what do you think? on: February 19, 2018, 03:53:37 PM
Altcoins are definitively nor dying, some are really thriving in this new age of public awareness.

The future will be ruled by altcoins, even with BTC being the most valuable crypto asset.

Many altcoins brought new ideas, new tech specs, new blockchain possible applications and that process is already in a non return path.

Altcoins are here to stay and the truly clever investors will get a piece of the action because BTC's dominance is keeping steady at ~35%

Sim, eram cartões VISA "normais".

Mas todos os cartões em € foram cancelados por tempo indefinido.

Vamos esperar... A pressão do lucro é grande.

A VISA está a perder muito dinheiro com esta decisão.

Pode ser que outro player decida entrar no mercado e permitir a criação de cartões baseados em crypto assets.

452  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: what to do if bitcoin decreases? on: February 19, 2018, 11:46:34 AM
For true believers, this is the time to invest. BTC is here to stay and those patient enough will profit in the long run.
453  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: How to make money from staking? on: February 09, 2018, 07:12:12 PM
Well... I read about this a lot like 4 5 months ago..
Then tried some staking.
Ember: they said it has 720% return. Nope, I staked around 2m coins for a month, not payment. Asked the dev, no answer.
Espers: read a lot of good stuff both for the project and staking payments. Dev was really helpful, till staking questions. Again got no payments.
I wouldn't recommend trying these.

You had a bad experience probably due to a poor choice of coins...

I have already staked:

BLK, PPC, TEK, HYP, HBN, CAP, PHS, NOBL, MINT, DMD, NVC and a few others.

Never had problems with staking, all wallets delivered according to the coin's tech specs.

Maybe you should try to read a bit more about a coin before investing in it...
454  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you truly believe in cryptocurrency on: February 09, 2018, 06:59:08 PM
I do believe in cryptos because the world needs decentralization. The more people living on the planet, the more they will understand that they don't need any third parties to exchange wealth, assets, services.
Crypto is just a side of the revolution, blockchain will bring a new paradigm to the economy and society.
If you own crypto currencies, i recommend you to hold and buy more in strong projects.
Think big, think 2020-22, think mass adoption and online payment. Now is just the beginning.

2020-22 is not really thinking big... I'm planning for my kid, to leave him a legacy of crypto assets when I die 20 to 30 years from now.

But you are right, this is just the beginning because it is still a niche activity. Even with this recent mainstream media attention, cryptos are still an obscure thing for 99% of the world's population.

Mass adoption may never occur but the new generations will be keen to adopt these new technologies if we teach them properly. Future adoption is up to us! We must spread the word, not only about quick profits but about all the social changes derived from the use of block chain technologies.

I don't believe cryptocurrency will end in a really bad way. That would suggest that the technology behind will fail as well. I believe in the technology behind cryptocurrency, block_chains, and smart contracts. I truly believe cryptocurrency only gets better from here. I mean we have barely scratched the surface with this new technology. Just look at all the people who either refuse to accept it or believe in this technology that actually can help it evolve even the more once they come on board. They really won't have a choice but to buy in eventually because cryptocurrency and the technology behind it just makes sense. In saying that, cryptocurrency, to me is a long term hold and not a get-rich-quick endeavor.

Many good technologies have failed in the past. At it's genesis, in Nakamoto's view, blockchain is a cry of rebellion against the system. And the system might react in a very bad way...

However, it's up to us the enthusiasts, the believers, to push this movement forward by supporting the good and honest projects and denouncing the shitcoins and scam ICOs.

Crypto future is in our hands, let's make it great!
455  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: How to make money from staking? on: February 09, 2018, 10:41:42 AM
I highly recommend to buy cheapest Azure machine and run all wallets for staking there, much better then run your own PC 24/7

At least for DeepOnion I know of an even cheapest way, to stake in a Raspberry Pi3:

https://deeponion.org/community/threads/running-deeponion-on-raspberry-pi-3.26594/

With a little effort other wallets could be compiled to run there.

Indeed, it is possible to stake with a Raspberry Pi and I used to have several PoS wallets running simultaneously on a RPI2.

One other option is to take advantage of the 1 year free AWS VMs and put a wallet there 24/7. The only limitation being some wallets are too demanding for the limited specs of the free VMs Amazon makes available in the free tier.

Yet another option is to purchase an Intel NUC and run everything there. This is what I'm currently using for my DMD masternode side by side with some other PoS wallets. With minimal power consumption I have 24/7 passive income generation...  Grin

In the world there are about 500 thousand altсoins. Most of them are garbage and do not have a great future. But I think that this sphere is just developing and current altcoins are only drafts for the subsequent even more innovative products.

A lot more than that my friend...

457  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do we Need Altcoin? on: February 08, 2018, 10:51:17 AM
I agree. It gives the top dog, Bitcoin, a competition. A market that has no good action would not last long. In every market, there should be several players that affects how the market unfold instead of having one strong asset only. Also, in the cryptocurrency market, every altcoin much like Bitcoin itself has their own technologies unique from the other. It can be used to support different ventures and trades. It also gives people who venture in the cryptomarket variety with their investments, the more players there are, the better the market would play out.

Not all altcoins have unique technologies, in fact most of them are pure clones disguised as something incredibly innovative by a marketing scam campaign. The number of players should be be somehow limited, filtered, controlled, regulated in order to prevent the epidemic rise of so many shitcoins.

We should not still wipe out the existence of Altcoins, because rivalry and competition among them still brings sanity to Cryptocoins generally wiping out or reducing monopolistic effect. However, each of them will want to as much as possible tries to develop their project to the best standard. And this avail us the opportunity to trade with better ones among them in some situation. In less than no time, shit ones so introduced among the Altcoins crashes at the long run.

We should try to create a mechanism for self regulation preventing the appearance of hundreds of scams per year. Most altcoins in existence today don't have a purpose besides scamming the new investors.

The more coins there are, the more chance for us to make more money. The moore coins the better. We  can make more money wioth the coins but there is one bad thing because we need to be more careful to choose the right one.

This is just wrong, the more coins there are greater the chances for someone to have big losses. When someone wins, someone else is losing... or will loose in the near future.

Altcoins are now the backbone of the global crypto economy but I'm afraid the whole market will suffer from all the shitcoins and ICO scams appearing everyday.

We cannot be selfish to the point of thinking all is good because we are making money at the expenses of some greedy newbie.

We should fight for crypto to have a solid reputation, so that our children will benefit from all we are creating now.

In order for that to happen, we should make an effort to ban all the shit projects, all the scams, stop their marketing, denounce them immediately.

Altcoins are the future, but we still have a long way to go...
458  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do we Need Altcoin? on: February 06, 2018, 10:16:07 AM
of course we need it because every coin has its own concept and then the benefits of each coin is also different although there are similarities as well as one of the main is for trading use

Yes, but we don't need every coin in existence today. In fact, most of them should disappear because out of the 1514 listed today only ~10% are serious and interesting projects.

We do need altcoins, in fact the current crypto market is heavily dependent on alts because BTC's dominance is now only at 36%.

Altcoins are here to stay and in many ways are leading the way forward.

Unfortunately they are also a beacon form all sorts of criminals but that's the price of popularity...
459  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum will overtake Bitcoin on: February 06, 2018, 10:09:47 AM
ETH will only close the gap to BTC if it ever succeeds in release itself from the traditional BTC/alt pairing.

But we we look at the current market fluctuations, when BTC plummets 15% ETH plummets 20%....

ETH will only stand a chance if the shift to PoS is a successful one and if the community will embrace this new consensus mechanism forgetting the obsolete PoW.

460  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: what to do if bitcoin decreases? on: February 06, 2018, 10:04:59 AM
I think thе rеlаtiоn bеtwееn thе аltcоin pricеs аnd thе bitcоin's pricе is chаnging cоntinuоusly. In my оpiniоn, it is rеаlly hаrd tо fоrm аn еquаtiоn bеtwееn this twо .

Indeed, the BTC/alt pairing is even more volatile than the crypto market itself.

Not so long ago, when BTC was on the rise all alts would be plummeting because of the "traditional" pairing. This situation changed in the last few months when we had a rise across the board so no more of the old pairing relationship.

But over these last few days, we have something different; all crypto is plummeting and alts are now in sync with BTC price fall.

There is no clear rationale to create a steady relationship between BTC and most alts; it changes and apparently nobody can explain why.

Fascinating, isn't it?
