Ethereum will overtake Bitcoin

The possibility of Ethereum overtaking bitcoin might happen. However, it will not happen any time soon. We don't know what happens in the crypto world in the future.

It is all pending on the evolution of the tech specs; BTC is still facing major difficulties and ETH will eventually shift to PoS.

Will BTC's devs manage to solve all of the current problems?

Will ETH's Casper algorithm implementation succeed?

Personally I agree with anyone who says that etherium can replace bitcoin, I think etherium is very popular lately., but maybe it will not happen since no one knows what might happens in this markets of cryptocurrencies because it is very hard to predict. Last year people said Ethereum will reach 100usd in 2018 but it reach 1000usd instead so It is almost impossible to predict the crypto market, the market is not stable yet.

Agreed making predictions on either ETH or BTC price is impossible. Just hedge your bets and keep both and don't keep all your eggs in one basket.

Bitcoin currently has 40% of all market share
Eth has 20% of all market share.

Newbie investers will buy bitcoin first then diversify into alt coins, mostly likely into Eth.
As time goes on, Eth will slowly but surely overtake Bitcoins.

Im fairly sure NEO will also climb up the ranks and overtake Cardano and Litecoin too one day. Maybe give another year for utility of tokens to rule the crypto world

Although bitcoin has fallen in price now, but its price is even now higher than Ether's one at its peak. So I have doubts about the fact that the Bitcoin will be higher than the Ethereum.

i think not it is a little bit overestimated to say that Ethereum will overtake Bitcoin because ethereum is still not to be not limited to a certain supply.

this is indeed the main problem on etherum, etherum supply is not limited while bitcoin is limited to only 21 million. now the bitcoin supply is running low and the bitcoin price will be more expensive. while for etherum, not this time.

I am not agree with you at all because the main reason is that bitcoin is that coin which is use by the people more than what the people are using etherium , so due to lots of Transaction we needed to pay high fee for confirmation at first   
So don't think that etherium will go at no. 1 , bitcoin will always remain at no. 1 Because its value and demand will remain high as it is and was in history .
And also if you are thinking that increase in high transaction fee is reason then still for that we have solution to use segwit wallet of electrum or another one available which can be use to send bitcoin with very small fee .
And also here we can see that multi fork in the bitcoin clearly indicates that how much they are improving Thier technology more and more .

I think it would be hard for etherium to overtake bitcoin. Bitcoin has passed all the test of time so I have no doubt that about the value of bitcoin. Etherium is also volatile and may change it's value anytime just like bitcoin but it's too hard for eth to rise like bitcoin. It needs to prove a lot first.

I think it would be hard for etherium to overtake bitcoin. Bitcoin has passed all the test of time so I have no doubt that about the value of bitcoin. I think ETH is already proven as a good coin. But Bitcoin has better media coverage and not many people know about Ethereum. I would like someone finally to explain why is Bitcoin better then Ethereum because it doesn't have any sense to me.

friends this seems a little impossible for me.
think there is a crypto that determines your value and you are talking about passing it, the crypto world is not that way. we need to be more realistic.

It's pretty much impossible.  $186,129,196,241 VS $86,631,552,766 USD . ETH need to go long way.
Also, BTC is mother currency.We love to see the mother on the top all the time.I think ETH LOver, love to see the same

Might happen, might never happen, and by ‘overtake’ I’m guessing that you mean when one ETH is worth more than one BTC.

The two coins are taking very different paths, my best guess for BTC is that it’ll end up as a store of value, a commodity, unless the team tackle payment processing capacity and time.

ETH is a more flexible tool, a platform for business but both coins have the potential to change and develop.

Yes it still has a possibility that will occur. ETH now is used by many peoples for investing on ICO's.
Many ICO's appeared nowadays, Ethereum network will be used by more peoples and investors.

I think ETH has a good future because it is used by many people investing in ICO, and many projects are built on it. I think it is promising but I don't see it overtaking btc. Btc will always be ranked no1

It's possible but it will not happen.As you can see etherium is just following the flactuation of bitcoin.In other words if Bitcoin price goes down etherium will follow.So which means there's no chance that etherium will grow if its just depending of the movement of Bitcoin.And I believe that the day will come that all the altcoins will die only Bitcoin will remain.
