Hello Guys Wink
I'm spend last hour reading about this coin and I left with few, probably dumb, questions. But I believe you will be able to help.
1. So I saw the coin was created late 2016 and this thread started in August 2017?
2. PoS, what percentage?
3. Why so low posts here, are you migrated somewhere?
4. What the features and future for this coin, road map is hmmmm...? I see only wallet updates.
5. How safe coin is. I know about TOR, but this not enough, any other info about safety.
6.  "stealth" addresses.” is it working out, how can I check it?
For now it's all. Sorry for many questions, just spent time on reading this coin is promissing and ect, but price is so,so.... Peace Wink

Hi Cobaro, you should be able to find most answers to your questions here: http://coinwiki.info/en/SpectreCoin

If there are any questions left, just ask.  Smiley

Just curious: Is the dev team up to date as listed? (Mandica [part-time?], jbg, Beachguy, Bruce L)

Thanks!

Well Mandica is "part-time" to the extent of not being available at all for most of the time. But she's the founder so she will always stay a part of the team. The rest is correct!

so i was observing the charts, and i noticed that in cryptopia, 1 xspec = 0.4284 usd while in c-cex 1 xspec = 1.12 usd
what the hell? why this difference in prices? why aren't people buying xspec in cryptopia and selling them in c-cex for a quick 2x profit?

I don't think Spectrecoin (XSPEC) is listed on C-Cex, uhm...  Huh

You can find the current markets here: https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/spectrecoin/#markets

how do I know if I am on the right chain?  Huh

Check if your block number matches that from https://espstats.net/ . If so, you are most likely on the right chain.

Can someone explain to me what the difference between ESP and ESP2 is and where to get what? Tried to find out but I'm confused…  Huh

I am with same problem. Unnistalled and reinstalled but no syncing and zero active connections. i am also looking for a post with new nodes... but cant find it.

See my previous post. I experienced the same problem, adding nodes solves it. I have forwarded the problem to jbg.
449  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]Spectrecoin[XSPEC] TOR+OBFS4, Ring Sig, Stealth! on: November 21, 2017, 10:27:32 AM
Hey Guys, I've been having trouble syncing my wallet. I downloaded the newest wallet and it loads my transactions but not my coins, and it will not connect to begin syncing. This has been the first time I started my wallet in about 4 months. I don't know if that has anything to do with it. Someone told me to load new nodes?
Can someone please assist me?

One other question...Is it possible to transfer my wallet.dat file to another computer?

Thank you

You can look up the node list here: https://chainz.cryptoid.info/xspec/#!network

Then go to the Debug console via "Debug" in the menu, and type for a few of these addresses:

addnode c5rpzfklcbbspzhg.onion add <Enter>

Then you should sync fine.

You can transfer your wallet.dat to another computer, yes. The database versions need to be compatible. For me it is usually easier to transfer the clear text private key. You can also use the debug console for this, is works the same as for any other coin.

The problem with swapping to Wispr is:

a) If Espers is worthless and has no future, then why should they ask you to give them your ESP? They could just copy the balances of the current chain and continue from there. This benefits the holders of ESP just as well, if that is their goal.

b) If Espers is NOT worthless or has a future, then you should probably not give them to someone else. This is just your usual ICO with all the risks of it, e.g. the risk that Wispr people just take the money and run. Cryptocoderz has no huge amounts of money, so he has no incentive to run or leave this project. The risk/reward ratio of holding ESP is much better in this case.

So the only possible reason for them to do this, is that you think that Espers is worthless, but they think it's not. And you are giving them your ESP for something that doesn't exist yet. To me this is the definition of being tricked.
452  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]Spectrecoin[XSPEC] TOR+OBFS4, Ring Sig, Stealth! on: November 20, 2017, 09:43:08 AM
Just to make this clear for everybody, because it was asked in Slack: Our cryptographer @brycel is currently overhauling the stealth transaction mechanism, which has two objectives: First, we want to make stealth transactions the default. Currently they are possible, but few people use them, so this will hopefully increase the adoption of stealth transactions in SpectreCoin. This was already planned for 1.4, but maybe be a bit delayed.

The second step will be to introduce stealth staking, that is a totally anonymous PoS system using ring signatures. This will initiate the next major release, version 2.0. My personal estimation, based on what our lead developer @jbg said, would be mid- to end of January.

There are two kinds of balance in SpectreCoin, one is the private balance and the other is the public balance. Private balances are not shown on the block explorer, and when we will have proof-of-stake using private balances, that should give us a very interesting anonymous consensus mechanism (ACM) that has never been seen before.  Cool
453  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]Spectrecoin[XSPEC] TOR+OBFS4, Ring Sig, Stealth! on: November 18, 2017, 10:42:56 AM
hey guys just loaded up my wallet, blockchain synced by my coins dont show in the balance.... the staking weight is correct and I can see all my staking rewards but the balance shows as zero. what do I do?

It's the zero-balance bug. It's one of the reasons why jbg is making the new wallet. You don't have to do anything, just ignore the zero. Everything works regardless. It will also update if you receive a payment or a stake reward. You can also run the wallet with the -rescan command line option, which should fix it as well (but only once).

I'm following this project for a long time, i hold a lot of coins and i do know one thing, that things started to move in the good direction after Cryptocoderz comeback, even if the things aren't moving as we are expecting there is will to work on the project. I don't know how long will take to fix and test the chain but important is that is fixed. About marketing, hmmm to promote what? First things first, let's see Espers working: mining, pos, wallet and after all is good we can ask for marketing, other exchanges, new stuff.

This is a very accurate analysis of the current situation!  Cool Totally agree.

457  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Titcoin™ [TIT] | New Developer | Discussion Forum (2016 XBIZ Awards Nominee) on: November 12, 2017, 08:28:06 PM
Ok thanks! So TitGold will be a WAVES token that will be used in your game. Users can use Titcoin for buying TitGold on your website, or they can buy TitGold directly via a different exchange.

Actually, I agree with you that using Titcoin for your comic strategy game would not have been a good use of it. Wink But the interesting question for me would be, what are your plans for Titcoin now? Also in terms of time. Most of your roadmap only seems to cover Triple X Tycoon and everything that's related to it.

You are saying you want to use Titcoin more on the B2B side (business 2 business). So what are your plans in this regard? Do you have a roadmap for that yet? Personally I would like to see Titcoin to be used as a payment method on various sites, e.g. premium porn sites or camming sites. So in that case you could create web APIs for it, or update the wallet interface to be more pleasantly looking, or add features to it that makes it easy to be used in camming scenarios (QR code integration etc.).

Do you have any plans similar to these ideas?
458  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Titcoin™ [TIT] | New Developer | Discussion Forum (2016 XBIZ Awards Nominee) on: November 12, 2017, 07:12:49 PM
TitGold is only relevant to Titcoin in name at the moment, the former being not a clone at all!

Put simply, the purpose of TitGold is to pick up where we left off with Titcoin integration into our main product. Whereas Titcoin will continue along in a B2B or enterprise capacity from now on.

So is TitGold a new cryptocurrency or not?  Huh

Could you explain what TitGold (technically) is and what Titcoin and Titgold will be used for, respectively? Maybe you could give us some examples of use cases here?

So im on the same chain as the block explorer and staking since the soft fork. Should i still stop staking until the staking is fixed, or is it ok if i continue letting my wallet open?

If it works for you, it's fine. But it is not guaranteed to work for everyone because of this certain bug that is currently being worked on. So you are kind of lucky in this case.  Wink

CC seems to be a lone ranger here on the coding front (he also has other distracting projects, I read) - I suspect ESP has made a few millionaires on last summer's run, so perhaps a little re-investment of those profits for some extra manpower help with coding would better protect ESP's value; if I may.

I don't think CC is working on too many other projects besides Espers right now, but of course we don't know... I think he has been offered money for hiring additional devs several times in the past, but iirc he said that finding suitable devs is not so easy. Unlike other projects which are only about improving the wallet interface, Espers is very low-level and often the development work directly deals with changes to the protocol. Most other devs who would be knowledgeable enough to do this kind of work, already have their own project, just like CryptoCoderz himself. The trailing "Z" was definitely meant to cover multiple blockchain experts to work together, as I am interpreting it.  Wink  But right now it's only one of them (yet), plus all the people in the team doing supplemental work like infrastructure, website etc.
460  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: DeepOnion - Unmoderated thread on: November 12, 2017, 09:26:37 AM
Hey guys, pls tell, does this kind of project have competitors?

Of course it has, there are many anonymity-focused coins... Monero, Verge, Spectrecoin... latter is the one I am currently involved with, it is basically doing the same as DeepOnion, but do it "right"... we are also operating via Tor, we already have stealth transactions, project transparency, good distribution and community-funded development.  Cool
