What is the essence of buying and hodling Bitcoin like is it to accumulate it till it attains ATH then we sell it off and wait for a dip and start buying and holdling again or just accumulate it and start using it as a digital means of exchange or are we going to continue till the 21 million Bitcoins have be mined, already 19 millions have been mined remaining 2 million because overtime, i have come across several topics about buy and hodl bitcoin so i actually wish to know the sole objective of acquiring bitcoins.
If it's you real plan, you should change it asap because nobody currently living on Earth is likely to be alive when the last BTC will be mined. It's currently scheduled for the year 2140, in 116 years. So maybe our next children will see it but even baby born today won't see it unless few of them will be able to break the longevity record on Earth, if Bitcoin still exist though. It's not a matter concerning our generation anyway.

2k non? Je comprends pas la question. L'essentiel c'est que finalement il n'y ait pas eu de dip et de panic sell à cause de l'effet buy the rumor, sell the news qui était attendu par beaucoup de monde, il a eu lieu dans une certaine mesure mais il a été très bref finalement puisque le mois cloture au-dessus des 40k. Après parfois pour une raison ou une autre, le marché met du temps à réagir.

Le mois va se terminer assez largement au-dessus de 40k, aux alentours de 42k manifestement. L'année commence donc tres bien, et on peut dire que le premier mois des ETF s'est bien passé sans gros dip comme on aurait pu le craindre. Bitcoin a pris de bonnes résolutions visiblement. Maintenant on attend de voir la suite, une année qui commence peut mal se terminer, ou même tomber dans rouge dès les premiers mois sans se relever.

This is unacceptable. There's no reason for a book to hold your money hostage for over two months. I wish you luck in recovering your funds.

Too many people accept the terms of service and allow a book to confiscate deposits. If the ToS says that you can shoot a person, it doesn't mean it's legal to shoot a person.

Actually their T&Cs only allow them to ask proofs of funds and wealth in case of money laundering or terrorism financing suspicions, they call it "Enhanced KYC diligence" but they've never talk about that till now. They've just accused OP of multi-accounting from what I read.

That's a good information about Walletexplorer.com, I wasn't aware they were a honey pot of Chainalysis recording IP adresses but people and especially newcomers shouldn't think it's the only way they track people adresses and transactions. I've read a document one time saying they even track addresses onto forums and social medias, so users should always stay careful about their privacy and don't mess around with the funds that could have been publicly exposed. Changing addresses regularly, especially for exchange withdrawals is important for privacy, using a VPN on sites/platforms accepting it could also prevent this kind of issue .

That's right but when you fall into the downward spiral of gambling addiction and compulsion, $1000, 2000 or $3000 a month is not enough because some people lose all their savings representing dozens or hundreds thousands USD, then they take out loans and mortgages to try to recover their losses and they multiply their losses Xtimes at the end. At this point, betting few hundreds or thousands dollars by month is not enough to be able to reach such amounts of winnings. So nobody is protected against gambling dangers and their vicious circle.

Yeah, that part made me kinda suspicious too.  He is saying a normal bank transfer takes at minimum 4 days, but if this is all happening between Eurozone banks, then there's SEPA which can be super quick.  I've done transfers between my accounts before using SEPA and usually the money shows up in just a couple minutes.  So his story about needing almost a week doesnt really line up if he actually had the option to use SEPA.

Its just one detail that got me scratching my head a bit, the rest of what he said could still be legit though.
Well, they are 2 SEPA transfer systems actually. The older one Target2 takes usually one day if you initiate your bank transfer before the evening. If you do it in the evening or the night your funds might not be arrived on the recipient account the next day, you will need to wait one more day. And it doesn't work during week-ends and german public holidays(or most of them). And the new one TIPS which allows instant bank transfers every day and every night during the whole year. Unfortunately Euro exchanges don't all offer the second one, yet.

You had a very good idea to think about that and gladly TheQuin bothered to read your post, so we'll maybe get a good surprise in the coming weeks. There is a thread about it in the Gambling discussion section and I have bet against another member there but unfortunately transaction fees are high so betting small amounts is not very easy.
Regarding your bet I've also bet on those ranges but only a small amount onto the 35k-37.5k range as a small insurance and my main bet is on the 40k-45k one. Odds are very good this one up to now fortunately.

I made paper wallets on this website a few years ago. The safest way possible (I though, back then), doing it offline etc.
I got stolen this year :/
BTC went to a non-KYC exchange (tradeogre), so I don't think I'll see them again, but I'm in if people gather to prosecute that website's operator?
It's a sad story like the one of OP but unfortunately it's not a surprising one. Many reputed users here heavily insist on the offline/air gapped device point without talking about entropy while it is one of the main vulnerability of wallets since many years. If there is a bug created voluntarily or not into the RNG code of your wallet, generating your seed/key and using it at the top of the Himalayas or in the middle of the Sahara won't protect your funds. That's why a physical source entropy/randomness is primodial unlike what many people think.
Bitaddress at least invites people to use physical dices.

So many people hear about bitcointalk forum from friends, families, internet and so on they where not given the full details of the Dos and Don'ts (the rules of the forum) of the forum. they where only told about the juicy parts of the forum because of that they are excited to join without making deep research.

Newbie should be corrected and not to be use to earn merits, most of the top rank members earn most of their merits from attacking and reporting newbie.
What do you mean by reporting newbies? You won't earn merit if you report messages to moderators. So if you're talking about newbies account exposed for scam, spam or plagiarism, people are doing that not to earn merits but to protect the forum and its users. It's very easy to open a fresh account here, you don't need to go through any KYC, so many people create accounts here in order to try to do bad things. That's why newbies and brand new account are often viewed with suspicion in the english part and in large local boards. But on most other local boards newcomers are generally welcomed and gladly hepled.

To be honest, I don't think that's so simple. You can also keep your fiat cash money or gold at home. But how many people do that? They are afraid of being robbed or to lose their banknotes in a fire of their home, that's why they prefer to leave their money at banks even if they've to pay for that. For Bitcoin risks of losing funds are even higher, because thieves can steal your money from you remotely, and your seed doesn't need a fire to be lost or destroyed. So IMO when banks will accept cryptos or when exchanges will be older, you will see more people using their services to store their cryptos.

The fact is that everyone said basically the same thing but also different things basically shows that people do not really read. Most exchanges do not show different prices, sure maybe for an instance, but usually they don't. If one exchange had such a different price than the other then we would probably see someone arbitrage it away anyway.

So, the question itself is moot, I would love to see OP provide proof that there are 2 exchanges who have more than 1% difference between prices. In fact, better yet, OP should just use this information to do arbitrage, because if one has different price than the other, you could very well make money off that. The question is wrong, there isn't any price differences between exchanges.
I agree with you for cryptos having a deep liquidity, there are too many trading bots tracking orders above or below the price of other exchanges,  buying and selling those opportunities instantly, to keep different prices for a long time. Exchanges use such bots themselves to make extra money. But on small cap coins, markets have higher spreads and less liquidity and you can find good opportunities sometimes. Anyway differences on large cap cryptos are mainly due to fees(trading fees and withdrawal fees).

You're right he says he wants to exchange his BTC against 18k€, so it shows he lives in the European Union or at least he has a bank account denominated in Euros. Then I don't understand why he doesn't just use a classic fiat exchange? Most exchanges like Kraken, Binance, Blockchain.com Exchange, Kucoin, (Bitstamp for deposits only AFAIK),... offer withdrawals via Instant SEPA. It means you can receive your funds in Euro in just few minutes, every days and every nights including weekends and public holidays. So his request is a bit weird and rather suspicious I would say.

A noter que le stablecoin TUSD, lié à Justin Sun, est toujours en depeg. Un peu de FUD ne fait pas de mal. Wink
Je ne sais pas si il va replonger profondément la semaine prochaine mais je ne serais pas étonné qu'il franchisse à nouveau la barre des 40k à la baisse. Le week-end les whales ne bossent pas si j'ose dire  Roll Eyes elles arrêtent donc de vendre leurs bags et la pression vendeuse diminue. Pour moi les beaux jours printaniers de pré-halving ne sont pas encore là, même s'il reste moins de 3 mois.

I don't think it's appropriate neither efficient to tell to anyone that "people will also be happy when [they] die", even if they told it themselves to someone else, especially in such circumstances. Evilness doesn't cure evilness, it only spreads it further. Disturbed minds often legitimate retroactively their harmful actions by the punishment they receive. "Since people hurt me or wish to do it, I was right to hurt them." So if someone is mean, IMO we shouldn't stoop to their level and become like them, but rather stay true and upright to our ethics and lead by example.

I don't understand what you mean by "Trezor officials have not released any information on whether the scammers were successful in this attempt" precisely tbh. You think Trezor know all the adresses of their customers and track all their transactions? Because it's the only way to know that AFAIK since the phishing emails don't ask victims to send funds to one(or several) address but they try to deceive them into handing over their funds. If true it would be concerning.

Return on Investment (ROI): Percentage profit based on your investment. Formula: ROI = (current price of Bitcoin - purchase price) × 100.

Dollar-Cost Averaging (DCA): this is a Strategy where you invest a fixed amount regularly. Formula: DCA = (average cost per Bitcoin) / (Total investment amount × Bitcoin quantity).
It's surprising than anybody except Faisal2202 for the Dollar-Cost Averaging formula has come to correct your mistake. I agree with him the right formula should be
DCA = Total investment amount / Total Bitcoin quantity to know at which average price you have buy your BTCs and what is your Break-Even Point. But you can also reverse the formula to find how many bitcoins on average you have been able to buy for one USD.

But your Return on Investment formula is also wrong because if you've bought one BTC at $20k it would mean that currently you've made (40k-20k) x 100 = 2000k= 2 million %
Instead, the right formula is  ROI = (current price of Bitcoin - purchase price) / purchase price × 100
If you apply the same values as above you get : 20k / 20k x 100 = 100%

I always gamble for FUN, since I mostly use Dplay lol. On the serious note, gambling for actual financial gain can be quite difficult and risky, and I would honestly not recommend it to anyone
LOL very good joke  Cheesy or I should say "funny" Grin lmao. More seriously, it could also be fun to try to win money even if you fail. In trading most people lose money and nobody say it's dangerous, it can destroy your life, traders have to be extremly cautious, it can lead to addiction, etc. So I think gambling should at least not be treated in a worse way than that. And betting on events is usually more funny and interesting because it leads you to be involved and to learn things that you would have not even heard about if you haven't bet on this event.
