4401  Economy / Economics / Re: Adam's Economics and Forex&Stocks Ideas on: July 23, 2017, 11:01:39 PM
Trading forex. How much average price volatility do you have per day in %? I'm not certain if forex is a good platform for day trading. Penny stocks are what most of the day traders I know, prefer. Forex may be a long term trading platform. That said I'm sure we all wish we had been "early adopters" of the zimbabwe dollar when it was hyperinflated, before it made that huge uptick in value.
4402  Economy / Economics / Re: Will you tech me please, What is ICO? on: July 23, 2017, 10:43:24 PM
ICO's could have many parallels in business and finance.

An ICO could be compared to OTC derivatives bought/sold by banks. That may be a controversial statement. An example of a derivative is subprime mortgages. Banks take derivative assets related to mortgage markets (and other things) & tries to profit by selling them at inflated prices the same way an ICO takes an derivative asset related to crypto coins and attempts to sell those at overinflated prices.

It might be fair to say, the name of the game isn't building wealth or value so much as it is selling things like subprime mortgage derivatives or ICO'ed coins at prices inflated past what they're worth. Whether we're discussing regulated markets in the case of derivatives or less regulated markets in the case of alt coins, there isn't necessarily a difference. Regulation doesn't make markets safer or decrease fraud, it only raises the bar to entry for anyone who isn't filthy rich to not participate.
4403  Economy / Economics / Re: Affect of bitcoins in the global economy on: July 23, 2017, 10:28:28 PM
Crypto is deregulated without sacrificing reliability in ways which strengthens economies and creates business opportunities for many. Red tape, regulations, taxes, fines, fees, paper work, bureaucracy involved with fiat could be said to restrict progress and innovation. The regulation small businesses are subject to can be a hindrance that give big business unfair advantages. Deregulated, decentralized, crypto to an extent does away with all of that which makes it easier (and cheaper) to fund free enterprise under a capitalist system.
4404  Economy / Economics / Re: Make money from money on: July 22, 2017, 11:33:11 PM
As far as I know, the way to make money is to try different things & lose a lot of money.

Then eventually after losing enough money and failing. Failing to much you want to quit and give up. Eventually, if you hard enough you reach a point where you can succeed and make money.

At least that's the way it has gone for me. I can't speak for others.
4405  Economy / Economics / Re: Whats next after BIP 91? on: July 22, 2017, 11:24:27 PM
Everything about the proposed fork is bizarre.

No one that knows anything about it is saying anything as if they're all afraid to speak an opinion that might conflict with the pro fork narrative.

There's nothing but a massive dark cloud of silence hovering over everything.
4406  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UFC on FOX 25: Weidman vs Gastelum Info and Prediction Thread on: July 22, 2017, 09:33:34 PM
Good wins by Junior Albini and Chito Vera. Shane Burgos look good, too. Think Kyle Bochniak could win the next fight. Good fights so far.

Not certain about picks for this event. I thought for sure Timothy Johnson would win but he got finished in the 1st round lol.
4407  Economy / Economics / Re: Could a country survive and maintain economic stability if it phased out cash? on: July 21, 2017, 11:06:26 PM
Imagine you want to sell your used car. Have a yard sell to get rid of things you no longer use.

Cash makes these things easy. Once cash is outlawed these things become much more difficult.

Phasing out cash cripples the economy in many ways. Limiting cash transactions has the same effect to a lesser extent.
4408  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Investments in the media on: July 21, 2017, 10:30:39 PM
Most of what I see said about crypto from the media is terrible. There's a lot of potential for legitimate articles and news stories about crypto being publicized. A high percentage of articles I see written about crypto are done by people who appear to have very little experience with it. There are very few people that are informed who are commenting. Its almost like, those who know crypto are afraid to speak out.

I think Tyson Fury got into Klitschko's head with the talk leading up to the fight. That made Klitschko hesitant and paralyzed him.

Still need to watch more of GGG and Saul Alvarez's fights to get a better indication of how good they are. I kind of get the feeling both guys are overrated and only look good due to boxing's talent being thin these days.

Everyone made weight. Waiting for the official weigh ins to air to check for size differences, etc. Chase Sherman weighed 250.8 lbs which seems to indicate he doesn't cut weight. Could help him in the late notice fight against Damian Grabowski. Have to check Chase Sherman's previous fights to see how much we weighed to get a better indication of how good of a shape he is in physically.
4411  Economy / Economics / Re: bip 91 locks in!!! on: July 21, 2017, 10:01:41 PM
My biggest question now is how did miners centralize so quickly. Awhile ago, they had maybe 40% of miners in favor of forking. Now it seems their overall percentage is much higher which count hint at massive amounts of money and resources devoted towards supporting miners who centralize.
4412  Economy / Economics / Re: stable currency on: July 20, 2017, 09:10:33 PM
and according to news 2 largest dark web market(alphabay & hasana) have been shutdown by feds
& i think that most of the BTC transaction come from dark web......
so closing of those market should decrease the trade volume
and it should affect the price......
so down it mean that exchange rate will decrease again??

I think alphabay, dreammarket, silk road 3.0 and other assorted dark net sites use some type of escrow service which is decoupled from the main blockchain similar to how bitcoin gambling sites have their internal transactions decoupled.

They shouldn't have much more impact on the total number of blockchain transactions taking place than people do when they withdraw or deposit from gambling sites & other crypto based services.

If alphabay is gone there is other deep web markets people can use, which could mean it won't have much of an impact.
4413  Economy / Economics / Re: So, you want to be rich? All of you ? on: July 20, 2017, 08:03:05 PM
I don't want to be rich. Having enough to live comfortably and more importantly having time to do things I want to do are more important.

Most of the people who think they're rich are just prey for the real wealthy people of the world. Buying overpriced mcmansions, cars, jewelry, fashion made by overrated brand names like gucci. Its a trap.
4414  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UFC on FOX 25: Weidman vs Gastelum Info and Prediction Thread on: July 20, 2017, 07:51:38 PM
Lots of good fighters on this card. Jimmie Rivera, Lyman Good and Shane Burgos are all from Team Tiger Schulmann fighting out of new york.

Chris Weidman, Dennis Bermudez, Gian Villante, Frankie Perez (etc) also fighting out of new york. This could be the most new york fighter heavy card the UFC has ever had.

Didn't realize Chase Sherman was a late replacement. He's a heavyweight. Don't know if he cuts weight to make the 265lb limit. No weight cut could be an advantage.

4415  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Mayweather Vs McGregor: Info and prediction thread on: July 20, 2017, 07:26:28 PM
I watched highlights of Floyd's last fight with Andre Berto 2 years ago. Floyd looked slower, less technical and less athletic. He looks like he's getting old and his skills are deteriorating. Not certain if that will factor into his fight with Conor. Floyd admitting he's not as good a boxer today as he was 2 years ago.

We may have a better idea of how good a boxer Conor is after he spars with Malignaggi.
4416  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will OJ Simpson be paroled this Thursday? - BET ON THE OUTCOME! on: July 20, 2017, 07:24:17 PM
End result: OJ Simpson granted parole

http://abcnews.go.com/US/oj-simpson-granted-parole-las-vegas-robbery/story?id=48689499

I don't know whether OJ was in prison for murder or robbery.

Maybe someone who kept up with OJ can comment on that.

Yup.  Coach Zahabi is really good in breaking down fights but he kinda sucks in making predictions tho.  In case you guys didn't know he's GSP's head coach.

AFAIK, BJJ Scout is Keenan Cornelius. Keenan is known for making technical clips on youtube breaking down grappling and wrestling. He's the biggest suspect as to the identity of BJJ Scout anyway.

Firas Zahabi has his own youtube channel where he breaks things down & makes predictions. His style seems different from BJJ Scout's in terms of the perspective they have and their approach.
4418  Economy / Economics / Nationwide Outage Hits Bank of America: Customers Unable To Access Accounts on: July 19, 2017, 08:32:18 PM
Quote
In an apparent nationwide system outage, Bank of America customers have been shut out from accessing their accounts and online banking on Wednesday afternoon. As of 4pm ET the outage was continuing with most online systems still frozen.

On Downdetector.com reports starting spiking after 11:30 a.m. and the website was inundated with comments from Bank of America customers around the country saying they couldn’t access online banking from their applications or computers, transfer money or deposit money or checks.

Coral Springs resident Eric Sleeper told the Miami Herald that he received what looked like a phishing email from the bank Wednesday and immediately called customer service to see if something was wrong. A message on his online account said it could not pull up his information. When he called his local branch, a manager said that local managers were all calling each other trying to figure out what caused what now seems like a national outage and why they were unable to provide certain services.

Bank of America spokeswoman Jumana Bauwens told the Herald that the bank is aware of the issues with mobile and online banking and is working to fix the problem. Bauwens added that many of the customers who were experiencing difficulties now have accounts that are operating normally.

“I know that the team is working quickly to bring everything back up. As time progresses they should be able to go back online,” Bauwens said.

When asked what caused the outage, Bauwens said she “did not have that information.”

Surprisingly, nobody has yet voiced the theory that it was Russia's crack hackers who are responsible.

Meanwhile, on Twitter, users across the country were reporting issues accessing their accounts.

“@BankofAmerica system wide outage on the day I’m closing on my house and there is nothing they can do about it,” tweeted Twitter user @CapricornLove7.

“The clerk at @BankofAmerica just said I can't make a deposit [because] if [sic] a nationwide disruption. Anyone know what's up?,” tweeted user @Henkenius.

Interesting news to me. Wonder what happened. Brings to mind the blockchain debate. Some believe using a centralized backend database is superior to distributed blockchain ledgers. Although there have been times when transfer fees were high from a historical perspective. I can't remember many times when the blockchain was down in its entirety.

4419  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will OJ Simpson be paroled this Thursday? - BET ON THE OUTCOME! on: July 19, 2017, 07:33:45 PM
John Hinckley Jr. the man who shot Ronald Reagan was released from the hospital. Bradley/Chelsea Manning was also released. That could mean that OJ has a chance of being paroled.

Politics could weigh heavily into whether OJ is released or not. I'm not certain which direction the wind is blowing at the moment.

You just need to know the form names on the betting webpage, then an app to POST the correct variables before submitting the forms.

There are probably tutorials out there which show how to submit data in webpage forms through an app.

The process might also be a little more complicated through an AJAX interface.
