Atheism these days is defined by anti-intellectualism and oversimplifying everything to avoid having to think about things.

Have we now reached a stage in the Bitcoin community where ideas are no longer judged on merit, but on who proposed them? Every new idea is apparently now a hostile takeover attempt according to someone. When people pretend we need massive and revolutionary changes to help people tie their shoes easier. (Or to fix trivial or unfixable issues with bitcoin) Those are sometimes signs of attempts to change things for the worse.

Mass adoption of bitcoin and a huge price increase in bitcoin are kind of the same thing. You can't have one without the other.

The corporate state wants a legal precedent whereby they can prosecute software and media pirating sites for the content published on them by others.
Craigslist used to have prostitutes publish advertisements all the time, it was never a major problem.
I think its only an issue now because of the DRM/DCMA/copyright issues and some warez pirates being tough to prosecute for having streamling links and warez posted on their websites by others.

You may want to rethink your idea before going down that road, do you know how time consuming it would be to purchase 1,000,000 apps while making it look like legitimate sales. Unless you are going to charge $10k for 1 app download it's going to take ages to launder a decent some of money.
Its not my idea. There are documented cases of people using this method to launder money. I doubt most money launderers even know what bitcoin is.

I can't believe no one has cracked this yet (assuming its still even in play).
I saw this thread 2 years ago & assumed it would be cracked before I could get started on it.
Maybe I'll make an attempt at it later, if only for educational purposes & learning on my part.

Thx for the info. The most BTC I've ever had was 8, back when 1 BTC was worth about $15(wish I'd held onto it and not spent it all) Have to get my BTC count back up there.

Most advancement in AI comes from hardware and transistor density increasing over time (moore's law). Very little comes from progress made in software. I would guess decades will pass before AI reaches a level near human consciousness.

The first time I heard about bitcoin was when I read this quote somewhere & reposted it in a blog.
February 28th, 2012
Bitcoin is one of the first implementations of a concept called crypto-currency, which was first described in 1998 by Wei Dai on the cypherpunks mailing list. Building upon the notion that money is any object, or any sort of record, accepted as payment for goods and services and repayment of debts in a given country or socio-economic context, Bitcoin is designed around the idea of using cryptography to control the creation and transfer of money, rather than relying on central authorities.

That's old school though.
I think there are probably better methods available now.

I thought Kim Dotcom filed for bankruptcy years ago?
File transfers wouldn't need as much security or encryption as currency exchanges.
That could translate to a file transfer service based on blockchain technology being faster with more transactions per second.
I would guess that's what Kim Dotcom is referring to.

I wish people wouldn't support taxation of marijuana so strongly. Do they realize their legalized weed would be much cheaper if it wasn't heavily taxed? Bitcoin is the same.

A lot of the issues bitcoin faces are like the y2k bug.
They're blown out of proportion.
Sometimes by those who want to takeover bitcoin or influence matters to suit their own agenda.
