4461  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin below $3000: "Good buy" or "Goodbye"? on: September 15, 2017, 02:08:27 PM
both Grin

it was good buy for those who have been thinking ahead and placed some orders below the price since it only lasted like a second!

and goodbye to those who were listening to FUD all day long instead of using their brain and experience to make proper plans according to the market movement not the what the comments written by some random unknown troll on the internet told them.
4462  Economy / Speculation / Re: You owe me an apology, I was right once again (China closing exchanges) on: September 15, 2017, 01:58:30 PM
you HAVE BEEN spreading FUD you can't deny that. at least you should have deleted your post history before making this topic!

FUD topic from you saying "New Chinese articles about Bitcoin Ban, ALARMING"
China never banned bitcoin.

Also ViaBTC Exchange CEO announced that China IS BANNING BITCOIN... on Twitter.

https://www.cryptocoinsnews.com/viabtc-ceo-china-will-ban-bitcoin-exchanges/
another FUD from you saying "China banned bitcoin" whereas China never did that. and the worst part is that the link itself is saying China banning exchanges not bitcoin.

another FUD topic from you with the subject saying "China banned bitcoin"
again China never banned bitcoin and never planned on it and the links that was shared in these topics are all saying the same thing.

it doesn't even stop there!
you have been spreading FUD for a long time. here is an example from more than a month ago saying "SELL NOW, big bitcoin dump! No fud." (it appears you think if you say it is not FUD we believe you Cheesy)
...we might see drop below 3600 in next 48 hours and before Nomber possibly to 3k or less, but 3k will probably be a huge support.
and price continued upwards to $4980 for about 1 and a half months after this topic.

and the FUDiest of all:
calling bitcoin cash the future of bitcoin
yeah you are not FUDster my ass.
4463  Economy / Economics / Re: When is the right time to buy bitcoin ? on: September 15, 2017, 01:50:29 PM
Nobody knows my friend. But if you scan the topics most people believe the bottom lies somewhere between 2300 USD and 2700 USD.
back when price broke the $2000 resistance for the first time and went as high as $2500, a correction started which was also accompanied by some FUD about split. by that time, if you scanned the topics most people believe or better say claimed to believe the bottom is at $1100-$1300 but you can see that price barely went below $2000 for a couple of minutes and jumped back up and continued up towards $3000 and then $4000+

the point is, reading random comments and what people say "they believe as bottom" will make you miss the train.
4464  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What Chinese Miners Will Do With Mined Bitcoins on: September 15, 2017, 01:37:16 PM
what you see is mostly mining pools that are getting paid. these pools pay their miners who connect to them (some from outside China even) in bitcoin. and each of those miners can choose to do whatever they want with the small amounts they get.

generally speaking buying and selling bitcoin is not banned nor illegal in China. it is perfectly legal to do it as you wish. there are a lot of options to sell bitcoin. not all exchanges are closed, there are foreign exchanges, there is p2p trading like what localbitcoins offer, there are options off-the-market and away from public eyes probably too.

as for "if they stopped mining", i have to say it depends on how much hashrate will go out. if it is big enough, there will be delays (can be a couple of minutes delay to an hour depending on how much leaves) in when new blocks will be found for a while until the next difficulty adjustment and by then the new difficulty will be in a way to go back to normal (2016 blocks in 2 weeks IIRC).
4465  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Once again,BTC is back on: September 15, 2017, 01:30:56 PM
i think it is a little bit too soon to start celebrating but yeah the recovery has been pretty interesting! the price momentarily dropped below $3000 (which in fact reminded my of the $1800 drop this year after the first $2500 test) and it could not last long enough for anyone to react! the price jumped back up.

one thing is for sure, in a couple of days all the news will come out and all Chinese exchanges will either close down or they will announce something clear and that will be final sure end to this nonsense.
4466  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Be ready for more rumors and fud from China on: September 15, 2017, 01:26:19 PM
there is always an end to everything and all the rumors and FUDs are coming to an end now. the news has been clarified by the exchanges that closed down. it had nothing to do with banning bitcoin or anything remotely like that. it was (like before) about regulations and how these exchanges are not regulated.

the Chinese are currently withdrawing their funds and transferring them to other exchanges and other buying options such as localbitcoins to invest in back into bitcoin.
4467  Economy / Speculation / Re: Forced to alts? BTC only loose you alot...hold does HODL feel? on: September 14, 2017, 05:15:37 PM
you need to be a trader, a good one actually to be able to make that kind of profit out of the altcoin market. you can go over there these days to see all the wounded people lying besides the road just because they have bought an altcoin with this false hope and are not losing a lot of money.

how do you all feel about this?

how do "you" feel about this?
4468  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it fucking Christmas!!! on: September 14, 2017, 04:36:25 PM
i think this is the first time in my life that i am agreeing with a known troll!

i have been going crazy with the recent dip. it is awesome how price can plunge so deep like this and you can buy a lot more of bitcoin and other shitcoins that will soon be pumped hard with bitcoin recovery. and that is going to be a lot of profit! ez pz.

with the current ban in china how is it going to recover?

try googling "how many countries are in the world"
then try googling "legality of bitcoin in different countries"
then also look for "trading volume of bitcoin" and compare the different markets. like USD and JPY versus others.

and finally it is not a bad idea to educate yourself and try learning what a "decentralized peer to peer cash system" really means.

and in the end it doesn't hurt to look deep to see "WHAT" China really banned.
4469  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Scenario > Bitcoin goes to 100. How will that affect you ? on: September 14, 2017, 04:24:57 PM
-snip-

How much are you in red right now?
Be honest.

i don't know, you tell me.
i have been buying bitcoin ever since it was less than $300. i buy bitcoin every week that i have some extra money for a little less than 2 years. i also buy whenever there is a dip like this. and i have been holding all of what i have bought so far.

i sometimes sell some on tops where i feel the rally is at an end or i see the start of FUD and buy back in the dip like what i did last week and now waiting to buy back when i am more certain.

even if you ignore the last paragraph i think you can calculate how much "in red" i am when i started at $300 Wink
i can also put a reminder in my calendar right now with the link to this topic to bump it in 6 months and tell you again how much "in red" i will be by then too.
4470  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: SHOULD WE START LOOKING ELSE WHERE on: September 14, 2017, 03:52:19 PM
With all the negative news going around about bitcoin coursing a lot of panic and anxiety....do you this its time to look else where for a guarantee investment?
i mean may be eth doge etc....

negative news about bitcoin? guarantee investment?

yeah please do! go elsewhere and invest there because you have not understood what bitcoin is! you are better off with fiat and investing in fiat instead. and you also are better off with the most centralized altcoin called eth that you also mentioned here. specially since if you had looked at its price over the past 6 month you could have seen the consistent drop in it!
4471  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Scenario > Bitcoin goes to 100. How will that affect you ? on: September 14, 2017, 03:47:24 PM
i'll answer your scenario if you answer this scenario:

what if This is The End happened and devil came in your room while you were asleep to titty fuck you, like he did with Jonah Hill? how will that affect you?
4472  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: EXTRA EXTRA: China NOT Banning Bitcoin Exchanges After All!? WTF!? on: September 14, 2017, 03:37:50 PM
Bitcoin is supposed to be anonymous. And KYC is exact opposite of that notion.

PS: I don;t have anything against AML policy.

Harry

exchange service =/= bitcoin

the AML KYC laws are for "money" it is called Know Your Customer to follow Anti Money Laundry laws. and that is MONEY laundry and exchanges are tightly associated with "money" so they must be tightly regulated too.

and that IS what has been going on.

4474  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Altcoins with increasing volume on: September 12, 2017, 03:55:30 PM
Hi, 1st post here so please excuse if in the wrong place!
since this is one of the ways to choose coins for "trading" i'd say this is the correct board.

Quote
I'm looking at altcoins, in particular ones that show an uptrend in volume.  My thoughts are that it could indicate possible nearterm pumps.
true, i have been using the increase in volume as one of the indicators for an upcoming rise. it may be an increased in volume without price rise showing an accumulation phase before the rise or it can be the increase in volume showing the first leg of the rise. in both cases it can be considered an early stage to join in.

Quote
Is there anywhere that has this kind of information or am I going to have to look over loads of charts?
well the only way is that plus using some sort of automation like using a bot or their API to get the history and then analyze it yourself.
usually these exchanges have some sort of table that sort these daily hot coins on top.

the coinmarketcap thing that @mjglqw suggested won't show you increase in volume it just shows THE volume of that day. you have no way of saying it is bigger or smaller or the same as before.
4475  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading on: September 12, 2017, 03:26:22 PM
I am quite surprised to see there are still some people using Poloniex. After all the complaints that you can find here and there, I don't know anyone who would like to use it. After all, there are many alternatives to it.

it is the same story with using bitcoin instead of traditionally monetary systems. people are used to all of them and find it hard to change. it is because people often have a hard time changing their habits. they start using the biggest exchange (poloniex here) and get used to it. so they often find it too hard to switch just because of issues which may very well exist elsewhere too.
4476  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Cannot Be A Bubble! on: September 12, 2017, 03:07:25 PM
There are many arguments agreeing and disagreeing with the idea that Bitcoin can soon join the long list of many bubbles in the history of mankind. I am sure we are now familiar with the tulip bulb mania centuries ago and the dotcom bubble years ago. Some people fear that soon Bitcoin can be following the same path.

that is the issue i have with these arguments!
a bubble doesn't have to be huge,
it doesn't have to be devastating,
it doesn't have to take long to burst,
it doesn't have to be tulip,... bubbles,
,...
a bubble can be a small one too. a bubble that bursts just as fast and corrects itself during a short lived bear market for example. it really doesn't have to be the asset losing more that half its value or going to zero just to call it bubble.

and another thing that is mostly the bitcoin FUD than any logical argument is saying just because rise was bigger than expectation of few then it must be a bubble!!!
4477  Economy / Economics / Re: What limits the market cap of bitcoin? on: September 12, 2017, 02:34:01 PM
nothing can limit market capitalization of anything ever!
market capitalization is calculated by multiplying price by shares. it is shares because market capitalization is something that we calculate for companies not currencies! in a sense, using Market Cap for bitcoin is like wanting to tell your height in volume instead of length (say i am 100 Liter tall instead of 1.6 meter) Cheesy

and because of that as long as either price or number of shares (or number of available coins) can change (which supply can not change for bitcoin) the market cap can too.

MC (rising) = Supply (fixed) * price (rising)
4478  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: problem with nova api on: September 12, 2017, 02:24:23 PM
i don't understand this language that you are using but i have had the same issue with Novaexchange API too.
i see two things here:
1. i post to what you are calling "url" here not to "CURLOPT_URL"
2. your signature must be in base64!

#2 was my issue too. usually i convert the signature to hex or just the same bytes and post it, but with Nova you have to convert your HmacSha512 result into base64 and post that!
4479  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Wallets and Coins on: September 12, 2017, 02:17:06 PM
for bitcoin alone there are enough variety of wallets to use.

for altcoins, many like holding them in their own wallets but the problem is usually the fact that they all need a lot of space. so if a multi-coin wallet which was also light (as in SPV wallets) were to be created which was also open source and without bugs then it would be preferable for them only.
4480  Economy / Speculation / Re: Looking for Advice on Making an Investment on: September 12, 2017, 02:10:29 PM
first of all stop advising others to invest in bitcoin without making them understand the risks and the swings. newcomers don't understand the swings sometimes and i have seen people who introduce bitcoin as something that will make them rich overnight. that won't end well for you.

secondly investing in altcoins for a newcomer is not wise. specially something like ETH which lives and dies with the hype and ICOs and stuff like that.
