461  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: While placing bet what comes your mind on: January 26, 2024, 09:50:08 PM
Yesterday was trying to place bet and during the process something in me keeps telling me to increase your wager do you know if you would hit something you never won before.. I was like is this how other people are being controlled by gambling or is it how it works? I said, no wonder some people gamble and finishes their allocation for the week or month. This can even lead someone to also go borrow if this feeling is not killed and stop, you can also see that this attributes in gambling addiction.

However, have you had this feeling while gambling before be it offline casino and online casinos?
Yes it's frequent but you must be very careful with that because when you place many bets at some games like slots or table games, increasing your stake of few dollars or few dozens of cents can be catastrophic for your bankroll. Because the more you bet the more you are likely to encounter long streaks, and when it's a losing one your bankroll can be wiped out if your average stake is too high. 150 losing bets of $1 is a $150 loss while it's $375 for a $2.5 stake.

No doubt now situation is very interesting with price is increasing and just few minutes back I check and look like we will have $42K back which will be good, but uncertainty is still around and things can take good changes hopefully we will be able to have this around $40K to $45K in coming days which is main target of many for the end of this month.
As above, we have good talk about technical analysis most of the community not like these but still few are having good research and working on this because they feel better with everyone is having his own opinion about this all which could be wrong as well but I personally also not like these.
There are 31 days in January, 42k is not far away from 40k and many things can happen before thursday. Week-ends usually show a high volatility in addition so the 37.5-40k range or even the 35k-37.5k one could still win. I would be happy if 40k-45k range is the winner because it's my main bet but nothing is done up to now. Bitcoin can even dip below the 40k mark as early as Monday. The price still moves within a very tight range around 40k.
463  Economy / Reputation / Re: The SportsBet.io Gang on: January 25, 2024, 10:59:18 PM
You will notice 90% of the merits are given to people posting their wins, discussing about sports in the sportsbet.io or livecasino.io (sister sites) threads.
I don't understand why you talk about Livecasino here, I just checked and during the 6 last months only 2 merits have been given onto the Livecasino ANN thread, one from me and the other one from slaman29. So you're wrong, very few merits are given there actually.

Regarding the other threads you pointed out I don't think more merits are given there than on some other threads, like the WO thread for example. And I don't think they are particularly undeserved. There are many fake gamblers shitposting in the gambling section, so personally I like when I see people posting about their real gambling experience and I think it's a good thing if they receive merits for that, instead of spammers.
464  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: No one has gone broke taking profits, always take profits. on: January 25, 2024, 10:53:12 PM
I started learning how to trade and my teacher just told me this advice that no one has gone broke taking profits when trading. I have always wanted to earn Bitcoin but I have been confused how to start then decided that I'll learn how to trade. I have been reading through the forum and I see lots of advice about holding and it's looking like if you sell you're not doing the correct thing. The first advice I have received is that I should always take profits. My teacher said the profits you take is better than all imagining profits you'll think that you can get in the future if you keep holding. He didn't say holding is bad but I got advice not to neglect the profits that I can take. I got this advice and I want to share it with everyone, always take profits.
It depends of your Risk Reward Ratio, if you are using a high RRR while the market is rather flat or during a bear market it will be hard for you to take profits easily while respecting your RRR and its reward target. So it's not always possible to take profits whenever your want, the effectiveness of your profit-taking is intricately tied to your overall trading strategy actually and it's better to follow an adaptive approach that takes into account current market dynamics.

467  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 Oscar Awards bets and discussions on: January 24, 2024, 09:53:23 PM
I'm a bit surprised to see Poor Things with such number of nominations while not being much appreciated by the critics and the audience. Personally I don't like very much this movie  because it is neither funny nor dramatic, and uses too many visual effects for such a story. I hope it won't get many awards. Anyway now bookmakers think Emma Stone has more chances to win the Best actress award than Lily Gladstone.

469  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Aviator is no longer provablyfair. Spribe turned to scam on: January 23, 2024, 10:54:06 PM
That's surprising indeed. Have you tried to compare the results given by this algorithm and the results displayed by the game? They are very different? Or it's just 10.0 instead of 10.5 for example?
You should maybe report the case on the thread of the Crypto Gambling Foundation
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2178857
Some managers or representatives of some casinos using this provider will maybe contact them to ask them to publish the new algorithm they are using to generate the results.
472  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Patience can help alot on: January 21, 2024, 07:56:38 PM
I agree patience is an important thing but money management is even more crucial because if your stake is too small you won't make substantial winnings but if the amounts you bet are too large for the risk you take(ie the likelihood you have to win or to lose the game) your bankroll will quickly go bankrupt and you will need to fill it again and again until going bankrupt yourself if you try to chase your losses sadly. You can easily see this phenomenon on slots, because this kind of game leads you to play many rounds in a short time unlike sport betting.
473  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Aviator is no longer provablyfair. Spribe turned to scam on: January 21, 2024, 06:56:34 PM
I actually tried reaching out to them on their social media platforms but they ignored and deleted my comments on LinkedIn and blocked me on Facebook.
There's no way how to check provablyfairness on paying versions too check them out on https://wolf.bet/ or https://sportsbet.io/casino or any other popular casino.
Their official  provably fair page https://spribe.co/provably-fair doesn't provide any mathematical methods or script to verify their games either.
Yes, now I see where you have written it, well it's not the main point of your claim but if it's true you're right it's not professional and a bit suspicious. There is a similar thread about Fortunejack on other so-called provably fair games and at least they seem to have contacted the third-party provider offering the game to report the claim.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5478417
If it's exactly the same game as the free one(demo), you're right, the game is not provably fair, since we can't independently check the outcomes. They give the seed used by the house and the seeds used by the first 3 players of the given round, they show the SHA512 hash of those seeds(concatenated I guess), they show the part of this hash they've taken to get the outcome and its value in decimal format but then they don't say how the result has been computed from this value.

https://www.coindesk.com/business/2023/11/27/coinbase-is-dominating-a-key-bitcoin-etf-service-can-anyone-else-join-the-race/

476  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do not use more than 2x leverage on: January 21, 2024, 05:41:45 PM
It's risky for all volatile assets actually, not for cryptos only, penny stocks could also be dangerous. But it is what it is, it's not more risky than a bet at a casino or a bookie. With a good money management you shouldn't lose much funds. So saying it's very dangerous and you should never use it is a bit overkill IMO, if you're not a beginner you will take care to not engage too much funds in such trades in order to preserve your bankroll.
477  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: is arbitrage still possible in crypto ? on: January 21, 2024, 05:28:44 PM
You can still find some good opportunities sometimes but generally they are limited, and they are on small cap cryptos, on small exchanges, with low liquidity. Exchanges and professional arbitrage traders usually use bots to track them and to instantly place orders when they spot them. On large markets and big exchanges too many people are following the price in real time to be able to find such opportunities.
478  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Aviator is no longer provablyfair. Spribe turned to scam on: January 21, 2024, 04:40:45 PM
Since you didn't add strong evidence, take this as a warning and consider doing deeper research to see if what you posted is likely to happen. If you have any other proofs you can add here, why they blocked you and what kind of conversation they had with you, because if they blocked you from their social media for no reason, then their motives must be doubted.

I don't understand why you are talking about social medias and why you claim he has been blocked by them. He had talked about this case elsewhere or a post from him here has been deleted? If it's because of another conversation you should quote his post or a link towards it.
Anyway, it would be better if OP could post a link towards a paying version of the game and some screenshots. But I didn't find how to check the provably fairness of the rounds in the demo version(free) of the game in his link, indeed.
479  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: [LIST] Multicoin Open Source Wallets on: January 20, 2024, 10:56:35 PM
It's a very interesting topic thanks you for the idea but it would be interesting to know which wallets of the list support Web3 connection to DApps too. And which main cryptos(not all ofc) they are offering.
As mobile wallet, there is Alphawallet, which is open source but it only supports EVM blockchains.

480  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: [Sparrow Wallet] Use it to generate a BIP39 24 word seed in a safe environment. on: January 20, 2024, 10:38:30 PM
Thank you all.

Yesterday I was taking a look at the SecureRandom in Bip39Dialog.java (from the Sparrow Wallet github) but this was too complex for my level of knowledge. I get lost in the github. I understood that I was putting my trust in the implemented Java (more than Sparrow).
In parallel I spent more time reading about the "dice roll method". My Hardware Wallet is an MK4, I will only use it with PSBT.

In the end, I went with the following steps (a bit more risky than just using the MK4):

1) Booted an Ubuntu installation disk in my homemade Desktop PC (ethernet unplugged, bluetooth usb unplugged). @BlackHatCoiner Yeah this is not air-gapped, but the odds of a risk happening I think are very low.
2) Manually rolled a dice a bit more than 100-110 times generating a number.
3) Used following Coinkite simple script to generate the seed: https://coldcard.com/docs/rolls.py (I copied this python script into an empty USB drive so I could use it in the cold~ booted Ubuntu. I understood how the script works for the peace of my mind). (I generated the same seed in MK4, because I was going to import in there anyway).
4) Finally did a full format (overwriting with zeros) of the Ubuntu Live Disk USB and the other USB Disk (containing the rolls.py file) to not leave any evidence.

I fully understand that is more risky than just using the Hardware Wallet, that always would return the same result. And to be honest I don't believe that what I did is safer than just using Sparrow Wallet generator. But I did it anyway because looks like a very low risk task and I understood the small python script.

---

I will also add a passphrase later.
It's interesting but you still need to trust a method and a script from a stranger, along with your OS, your software environnement, and your hardware.
Why not just trying to follow the BIP39 algorithm by your own?
You would just need a computer to compute the SHA256 hash of your entropy to get the checksum.
You could still use your dices to generate the entropy but 256bits for a 24 words seed is only 256 coin flips if you prefer.
