481  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: trading vs holding on: November 28, 2017, 10:45:55 AM
When it comes to Bitcoin, holding is obviously the better choice as it is looking unstoppable as it almost near the five figure mark. The future looks promising with the holders being rewarded massively for their perseverance and determination.

With altcoins, it is a complete different scenario. The current day is run by a lot of pump and dump groups which are big threats to the actual development of the project. Holding could be considered decent if the project has potential, otherwise the best bet would be to trade.
482  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Would losing Net Neutrality affect bitcoin? on: November 28, 2017, 03:03:40 AM
Losing net neutrality would be the worst nightmare of any Bitcoin user as your ISP could charge you for accessing blockchain.info, exchanges like Polo and Bittrex and what not. This clearly means very limited access and would not suffice for any sort of user.

Meeting with the demands of the ISP in order to access your online wallet, exchanges, explorers etc would be a pain and I'm pretty sure they will be having their own tariffs which would be high.
483  Economy / Economics / Re: On: The Comparison Of Difficulty VS Price on: November 28, 2017, 02:28:46 AM
Pretty accurate comparison in the graphs as the proportionality is being seen establishing between difficulty and price. Just wondering how much the price would've surged when we near the maximum circulating supply with all the exponential increase in difficulty, wish I would be alive to see that day.

Either ways, that spike in 2013-14 was an indicator that many people learnt about Bitcoin and cryptos which suddenly increases the demand and prices went off charts. Of course it fell off after a bit of time but nothing sketchy since its back on par with the difficulty graph.
484  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 3 upcoming bitcoin forks? on: November 27, 2017, 06:27:12 PM
Began reading the first line of the topic and almost spewed out the water I was trying to drink. 'Super Bitcoin', what sort of a name is that? I'm expecting whoever is behind it to be a Dragon Ball Super fan, deriving the name directly from the anime itself Grin

On a serious note, the community has grown tired of these silly pretexts of improving the core protocol over and over again, resulting in unasked and unnecessary hard forks which would be good for nothing. These are sure to be dumped as soon as everyone gets their hands on it and that's it, useful for nothing.
485  Economy / Economics / Re: How will global micro transactions, influence growth? on: November 27, 2017, 04:45:36 PM
Being able to carry out micro payments in a feasible manner is a necessary for any sort of an entity may it be a business or the micro transactions happening between two people. With Bitcoin, this isn't feasible as the transaction is pretty high and there's no way around it.
There have been a few projects which have been trying to establish easier micro payments and all we can do is wait for things to play out to see if it works out when it releases.
486  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Which trading platform do you use? on: November 27, 2017, 10:23:48 AM
I have my own set of personal preferences when it comes down to exchanges, mostly depending on the volume and the coins.

If I'm swapping a small amount Bitcoin to altcoins, I would be using Cryptopia or Liqui. Etherdelta is also on my list of choices for ERC20 tokens.

If I'm looking to buy into an altcoin with a decent sized investment, Poloniex and Bittrex are my first picks and with the latter being used more often for the volume and fast support system.
487  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you trust pre-ICO programs? Has anybody invested in ICOs? on: November 27, 2017, 09:58:53 AM
To keep it simple, after going through a project and finding potential in it, buying tokens during the pre-sale when there will be a bonus available is probably your best bet while investing, rather than investing in the ICO itself, as you will get receive more tokens for your money.
The hardest part currently is finding the right projects to invest in with tens of thousands already being out there. That is why prior research about the projects is very important as it gives an idea of the potential of the project.
488  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ABCD! Are You Ready to mine Diamond Now Onwards? on: November 27, 2017, 08:49:52 AM
Yeah sure lets multiply the circulating supply by 10, give it a fancy name and throw it into the ring to see how many people we can convince to invest.
Going to be a dumping ground on exchanges as we speak because first listers will get away with big money for listing it sooner than anyone else and those who are investing will soon be here creating topics as to how it got dumped when they bought it.
489  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Address Tracing and Trading Question on: November 27, 2017, 06:13:21 AM
I have one bitcoin address where i have over 50 transactions on it.  I notice other address have either 1 or 0 transactions on it.  I heard the irs is now tracking bitcoin etc.

So does that mean if i use an address once or twice etc... then there is less tracking?  Thus imagine i send btc to an exchange like bittrex.  If i use a new btc address to receive btc each time from electrum wallet, is that better?  Or it doesn't matter since its the same program?

I always hear people say dont use the same address more than once.  But are there really ppl that never do it more than one?  Because wouldnt someone have hundreds or even thousands if that is the case?  The thing is if i want to do trading on bittrex, it probably would be good idea to send bitcoin from an address on electrum that has 0-1 transactions only?  I will be using bittrex and only doing small amounts in the beginning to trade.  Would it be better send btc and receive btc from my electrum wallet with an address that is used 0 or 1 time?  Because if i use one that has lot of transactions, would they look at my old transactions back then etc?

How do you think these security agencies will even figure out a Bitcoin address to be yours? Unless your country has forbade Bitcoin usage, you should be fine as it doesn't matter if you use one address or hundreds.
If you're really concerned about your security and insist on using a new address everytime, just create a new address for each output transaction and send the balance amount of coins to your new address.
490  Economy / Economics / Re: Where Will The Digital Economy Take Us? on: November 27, 2017, 05:41:52 AM
Blockchain technology could be considered as the crown of the current digital era. A digital ledger keeping account of every single transaction happening and using computer power for the proof of it just pushed the governments around the world to open their eyes and look at digitisation from another perspective.
With many banks from different countries across the globe implementing blockchain technology for some of their functions, this lays foundation for research and development through which we could maybe achieve even more of an efficient system in the coming years.
491  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will altcoin go up or down on bitcoin crash? on: November 27, 2017, 05:28:30 AM
For obvious reasons, the crash of Bitcoin will have a positive impact on the price of altcoins, providing them some breathing room to attract investors. Then again, only clear cut and well established altcoins stand a chance to show growth and progress while the innumerable shitcoins without a proper purpose will continue to suffer.
492  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Around 4 Million Bitcoins lost forever!! on: November 27, 2017, 03:54:51 AM
Even if the 4 million or more coins haven't been moved for a long time, it cannot be excluded from the circulating supply. This is mainly because even if holders lose their private keys for unknown reasons, we might have technological developments in the future which could brute force or crack the private keys and regain access to those coins which could've been deemed 'out of circulation'.
493  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Losing Streak Strategy on: November 27, 2017, 02:40:51 AM
Okay, so I am a losing bettor. I've never made money from placing bets, I could go on a small winning streak, but eventually I lose it all. So I have been thinking, since I am jinxed and very bad at making selections, anybody that does the opposite of what I do, at the right odds must profit. Getting the right odds is important, because as we all know, the bookie vig will ensure you lose in the long term.

There are a couple of ways to getting better odds; either your scour the web for them or you wait and bet live in play if the opportunity presents its self. Every now and then, I will post my bets, all you need to do is bet against me and viola, profits!

What if all of your picks right from this moment begin going your way? Countering your picks would make us bankrupt  Wink

If you're talking about general sports betting, there are tons of sites out there which offer varied odds. Making the right choice of site is also something you should focus on as you already know that odds mean everything. If you feel you're on a lose steak, just reset yourself and come back after taking a break. With a fresh mind, you can always make the right picks and get yourself going towards profit.
494  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BTG (bitcoin gold) pump and dump , pump coming? on: November 27, 2017, 02:31:08 AM
With the amount of premined coins (around 200k) Bitcoin Gold will play the pump and dump game throughout its course, never having a stable price. Its pretty disgusting to see a hard forked coin being manipulated by the developers with control over 75 million dollars of the current circulating supply. So this is a coin to complete isolate oneself from, as the pump and dump rituals could be highly unforeseen with the devs having most of the control.
495  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Bitcoin data on: November 27, 2017, 02:09:52 AM
As said above, most popular exchanges like Poloniex, Bittrex and Kraken offer their own API for market data. Make use of it as they are updated faster than third party standalone data providers like CoinMarketCap and Cryptowatch which derive data from all of the exchanges combined. With some experience, you will get an idea of the market and with the right sort of data, analysis becomes easier.
496  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Staying on track with BTC prices on: November 26, 2017, 03:49:11 PM
Do you guys check prices of crypto's daily? I'm finding it so stressful to predict and watch prices shoot up and down.

Daily? I check crypto prices almost every hour of the day. By doing this, it becomes much easier to predict price rises and falls. Preev is my go-to for keeping me updated on Bitcoin prices as keeping just a tab open will show the price fluctuations while accessing other pages.
You shouldn't be finding it stressful to predict as small fluctuations are very common in the fast moving market. When there is like a FUD wave or some sort of news about a country trying to regulate cryptos, expect prices to fall off by a fair bit so keeping up with the news is also very important while effectively predicting the price.
497  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: once all bitcoins are mined on: November 26, 2017, 03:35:03 PM
Look at the price of Bitcoin now when we're at around 16.7 million circulating supply, which is almost at the five figure mark. Consider it takes over a century for all the coins to be mined (though I think it will be much faster with advancement in technology) I'm expecting the price to surpass the six figure mark. At that point, the miners will be solely living off the transaction fees as the block reward would be almost negligible. Just hope Bitcoin scales well enough into the next century with the core implementing sufficient advancements for the next generation.
498  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ICO's are finally coming to an end! on: November 26, 2017, 03:18:27 PM
Crowdfunding through ICOs has been receding steeply due to the many nations taking a strong stance against the system as many of them have been abandoned projects and a few also turning out to be scams. Yet, airdrops are still rampant with all the attention they receive and will contain to remain so unless the airdrop participants begin to realize they're simply wasting their time with a dead token and nothing more.
There are still tons of projects out there which won't even be close to achieving their soft caps and this will be beginning of the end as far as ICOs as concerned. The future of crowdfunding will remain uncertain for a while until another breakthrough is achieved so we have to be patient for the future to embrace us.
499  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Ledger nano s or myetherwallet with keystore on usb? on: November 26, 2017, 03:01:58 PM
For security purposes, its best to store your coins in an offline wallet with backed up private keys that only you have access to. By saying this, I don't mean MyEtherWallet is not secure, but since its an online wallet you can't trust it completely as we've had breaches with multiple online wallets in the past. Yet, MEW is also a highly secure wallet as long as your private keys aren't being given out in any fashion and it is much easier to access MEW since it is online.
500  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: My btc not confirmed for 24HRS/72 H MERCATOX MULTIPLE CASUALTIES SCAM MERCATOX? on: November 26, 2017, 02:14:13 PM
I have used Mercatox in the past and never had any sort of problems (except for some small functionality issues) with the site but these problems look to be surfacing very recently. Might as well want to reach out to their support team via chat to ask for clarification about your issue.

Ive lost 50BTc and more and now this my last moneys FFS this is shit

Did you really deposit 50 BTC on an exchange with comparatively low volume in trades when there were at least over 10 better exchanges to choose from? Either ways, sorry about your loss.
