482  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BITCRANE ANNOUNCES BEST IN CLASS BITCOIN MINER T-110 on: August 10, 2014, 01:02:03 PM
1W/GH shold be priced below 1$/GH.

I bought some Antminers and I got below 1$/GH, including PSUs.

Ants also have a 20% better efficiency.

Not only is BitCrane a bit late to the party, but their pricing is way off, especially considering they bought the awfully cheap hashfast chip.

Agree, antminers S3 are by far the best...

No antivirus by itself is able to stop a keylogger or other virus with certainty. An adversary can always write a new one that doesn't match signatures, or trigger heuristic detection in clever ways. The only ways to prevent keyloggers are proper OS design combined with a careful attitude toward unknown files.

Unknown files, does that mean as long as I don't download anything silly and keylogger I am safe?

Unfortunately no. For example if your browser or some of it's plugin has a security hole (and they always have!) you can get infectected just by opening a web page (without downloading anything).

Oh come on, now that scares me... does using chrome help to stop that problem?

491  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I want to know about BTC mining on: August 10, 2014, 11:46:58 AM
Btc mining isn't profitable, you should have thousands of $ in order to set up a mining farm, otherwise you won't earn anything.
I honestly wouldn't even consider it with less than an hundred thousand... I've had a quick discussion with a dude some time ago who was going to invest in an established farm by buying a share. I think he was going to invest some 7-digits number.

I'd say that's what it takes to get into BTC mining with reasonable risk by now. I told him to do a GPU multipool instead!

GPU mining profitable is even worse right now.. look at the profit for x11..

Is free AVG good enough to stop keylogger?

494  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What to mine with GPUs if you have FREE ELECTRICITY + A/C ? on: July 29, 2014, 07:53:54 AM
At work we have a large space and electricity is factured into the lease and it has A/C included.

What would be the best and most profitable coin to mine with GPUs. It seems everybody is mining X11 since it uses less power.

So is ScryptN, Keccak, XMR, XPM, ?

Nothing is profitable with GPU even with free electricity, unless your GPU is free as well..
