re: The bottom is in bet.
HairyMaclairy bets that it is.
Last of the V8s bets that it is not.
One litecoin.
I'd rather only bet against Hairy, but thanks for the offers @kurious, @arriemoller.
I'd want no upper limit as was suggested, as I think it could fluctuate higher than that and still come down lower.
Bitstamp low of 3122.
If Bitstamp becomes unavailable, how about preev, bitcoinaverage? some other named exchange?
I'd want a year just to keep it simple, though I do think it could happen later than that (3.7% likelihood for JJG).
Would be happy to send my litecoin to escrow if needed.
Payment in btc equivalent is acceptable. No one actually wants the shitcoin itself.
If that's agreeable...

Quoted. Good luck guys (I secretly want HM to win though as I can't bear another downward spike).

Thank you all for commenting on the age, I wanted to know if at the party of the 100k I would be only in the luxury geriatric. Wink

The way I’m feeling these days it’s unlikely I will even make it to the 100K party.
Hurry up Bitcoin will you!

I do not know the average age of WO. I am over 50 years old and my dental health is perfect, thanks.
I'm very recent in WO, where is the age rank? 25/60

I am in my mid 50s too.

If I could liquidate $1M at any reasonable price I would also do it. Thanks god gave me patience Smiley

Ok, I know this is likely to veer into mega-asshole-post territory, but feel it's good to offer some perspective.

Also, I acknowledge I am but a dolphin, not a whale, when compared to the likes of Theymos, and some other OG's that I'm sure are lurking.

Even in this shit market, I'm sitting on several millions of dollars USD worth of BTC, but ain't no fucking way I'm parting with them at these prices.

Anything I sell at this point is treated as a long-term capital gain.

I started mining this shit when it was near $2.50 USD/BTC. SODL enough that my cost basis is zero.

I can see the bigger picture developing. 2018 was a pretty spectacular year for tech and background work on Bitcoin (LND, Liquid, Taproot, exchange-batching adoption, increased segwit adoption, good progress navigating the legal landscape for courting institutional investors)

The bears are well fed at this point, and are overdue to begin their next hibernation cycle, "soon".

HODL.

Disclaimer: Don't believe anything I have to say.

Sometimes I feel doubtful about my crypto decisions and posts like this helps me to keep moving on.

Compared to these guys I am just a small sardine.  Grin

It is funny and shameful they are still hodling strong while sitting on millions, I doubt myself with my tiny stash.

It is precisely because people like Bob held when the price was going up that they are now sitting on the millions that they are.
Many have sold everything way before it even hit the first big ATH at $1000 let alone hold out till 20K.
It’s never a good thing to liquidate it all. Hold on to a percentage of your stash no matter what the price.

Has anyone else noticed how the trolls (Big dick, rebal15 et al) all seem to post here almost simultaneously?
Makes you wonder if they are one and the same person or perhaps even a bot.

Don’t get too used to it.
You should always be able to stand on your own. You never know how long it’s gonna last.
I mean no disrespect of course.

it's much more about the mesh network stuff, keeping the chain size down. the fee market problems are way off
i agree it's early even for that former though

I have yet to see a convincing argument that the current system is broken.  It’s all pie in the sky stuff.

Lighting will keep the chain size down.  Just give it a chance.

I don’t think we need to worry too much about this at this point either.
I appreciate the forward thinking but believe that we need to allow BTC to mature before we look at doing anything with block sizes which might further jeopardise BTC’s adoption.
Give LN a chance to get further established and see where we are at a bit further down the road.
Who knows, someone might come up with a better idea than reducing block size to incentivise miners?

Yay After well over a year and a half I have finally got my original account back after it was hacked.
Thanks to Last of the V8s for the reminder that accounts were being restored.
Any chance of a hat xhomer?
I don’t have an avatar and trust to your creative skills.
I also now have some merits I can start sending.
Hooray.

Nice give him a hint or avatar PIC Smiley

How about something with this in it?

So... I exercised some poetic license but as always this hat comes with a lifetime1 guarantee.

Who stole my Avatar? Roll Eyes

Ah man. Looks like I didn’t research through the forum to see if it was already taken.
I just found the image when I did a BTC search and thought, ooo that looks good.
Still, I’m keeping it :-)

When we were reaching 400 usd in 2014... and we have to deal with daily NotLambChop coyote gifs.. i dreamt of 3200 usd.. so unreachable!

Now that we went to the moon and back, i can only dream of next trip.. will it be to 120k, with stops at 40k..60k?.. time will tell.

Good things come to those who wait.. (i hope we dont starve in the meantime)  Grin

I remember those times brother. He was a professional troll, mocking us every day. Posting old guys sucking each others dicks etc. He/she was annoying AF.

I think the high of the next cycle will shock us all. I need to be prepared to sell some tgis time to achieve my life goals though. I still haven’t worked out at what figure I’m happy to sell some yet though Cheesy

I think i reckon you’re number to be 50K .....  Grin

I think 25% of my stash will go at 40-50k.. yes.
I hope i dont make the same greedy mistakes as in the past..

Dunno if showing an untoched btc wallet since 2016 is something to be proud.. or to be blamed  Sad

But i can assure you that hodling 2018-to date is much more painfull than it was from 2014 to 2106

Hindsight is all very well but there’s nothing we can do about selling nothing during the last bull run now. All you can do is try not to repeat those actions during the next epic bull run.

My mistake was that I got greedy, very greedy. Life changing figures were in my hands but I didn’t sell & they slipped through my fingers. I didn’t sell though so luckily I will get that opportunity again.

I think with the speed & ferocity that the market flew from $10,000 to near $20,000 some of us (me included) thought it was going to keep going up & up to who fucking knows what.

I admit I got greedy, very greedy.

I won’t make the same school boy errors during the next cycle though.

It’s an interesting dilemma.
If, or should I say when, prices get to 50K or even 100K per coin, would that not mean that mainstream adoption has truly begun to happen?
If that is the case would anyone still want to change their guaranteed wealth for an antiquated system (FIAT)?
As long as we continue to think in fiat then Bitcoin has failed to surplant it.

Ahah welcome back then.

Was it difficult now that there is a new process out?

Anyway send him a pm with a pic and he'll work wonders I'm sure Wink

Well I had originally staked my account using a BTC signature and provided that as proof of ownership. I received an email after a couple of days explaining that I would have to wait another week before I received an email to reset my password.
A week later and here I am.

stavo leggendo il loro thread
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2065043.0

Progetto interessante, parte l'1 novembre  Cool
