On the Horizon

The SexCoin (SXC) wallet update to keep up with the latest security fixes and functions across the Crypto Currency community.

What is the status of a new wallet? Who are Sexcoin main developers, I'm looking to make a contact with them to propose a project that would help this coin gain more attention and (ab)users.  Grin
482  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Spondoolies-Tech SP40 Watson - SCAM ALERT !!!! on: November 07, 2015, 01:11:56 AM
Payment is done via https://www.coinpayments.net so warn them about scammer.
483  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: bter.com is a scam on: November 07, 2015, 01:02:06 AM
I had some withdrawal problems in Bter and the support did not apear, now I see there are a lot of scam accusations against this site so It is confirmed. I am very disapointed, I'm new in all this 'bitcoin world' and in just one month I've been scammed about 5 times in different ways, I don't know what to think really.

Could you tell me please which altcoin exchanges are not scam or are recommended? I've read about cryptsy issues, so what do yo think?

The only trustable and fully functional exchange at this moment is https://poloniex.com while anything else is more or less a scam and / or lacks liquidity required for any decent trading. Bter had a few hacks in the past but I never actualy had serious problems there. I guess you stubbornly attempted to withdraw coins multiple times using wrong info and got withdrawals temporaly locked, if so just wait a day or two and try again.
484  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: CRYPTSY stopping withdraw locking accounts without notifying users! Class Action on: November 07, 2015, 12:30:27 AM
"It appears from the reports that investigators will begin seeking formal subpoenas. These subpoenas are believed to be delivered in 2016, and will likely request a wide range of information including transaction history, server information, and consumer account information.

In the interim, one federal organization’s sealed subpoena revealed information that they found “interesting” according to one memorandum and would be used as part of an action against several members of the Project Investors team."

485  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Cryptsy 2.0 *New Chat*Cryptsy Mastercard *Updated Rewards System* on: November 06, 2015, 11:47:53 PM
And now I go to Cryptsy and notice a withdrawal limit of $25/$100 for non-KYC required products (digital coins).  Don't quite like this additional "update/upgrade".

Why limit withdrawals?  What's the basis for this?

EDIT:  What's more interesting... "tier 1" is in no way KYC compliance as it is only a "tell me who you are and I'll trust you" level.  KYC mandates for the US verification at any level (read no verification as a limit of 0, not $25/$100 or $2000/$10,000)

I'm really curious what the basis is for this new intrusion of privacy.  Show us who is requiring you to know who we are or else we're forced to conclude that you're just attempting to restrict and/or reduce withdrawals from your wallets.

I agree, 25 USD per day or 100 USD per month are random values Cryptsy just made up. They were surely not commanded to use such values by FINCEN or some other goverment agencies. Such low amount of coins per day or month are not enough for anything unless one lives in very poor 3rd world country. Definitely not enough to conduct money laundering, terrorism, drug trade or anything else along those lines so I'd say it is about what you've said in your last sentence, "restrict and/or reduce withdrawals from your wallets".

And what about dozens of wallets which are offline for a lot of time now, like Crypti (XCR) or Huntercoin (HUC)? No amount of community or even developer involvment works, all requests posted on Twitter and elsewhere are ignored and tickets sent to suport are always saying "we will fix that soon" with no fixes for months.
486  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Technical Problems at Cryptsy? on: November 06, 2015, 11:16:45 PM
My last few BTC withdrawals went fine (a week+ ago though) but I have issue with altcoins. Three altcoins which I bought at Cryptsy have wallets "on maintenance" for very long time now, with Crypti (XCR) being absolute recorder at possibly a year offline. I'm occassionaly checking Balances page to see what wallets might be fixed and what other wallets might be offline but I'm not seeing much difference for a lot of time now so my conclusion is that they permanently lost a server that held a dozens of altcoin wallets and all backups (asuming they were making backups).

In any case, instead of withdrawing BTC buy some altcoin that has a working wallet at Cryptsy and a good liquidity then withdraw to working exchanges like Poloniex and BitTrex, convert altcoin back to BTC and withdraw BTC from there. You'll lose a bit of money on price spread but that should bother you much less than a chance to never receive your BTC from Cryptsy.

Karl believes Startcoin will have the second biggest marketcap within 2 years and this is the reason why....

http://www.paradimeshift.org/2015/08/why-startcoin-why-now.html

Right, just like BTC will hit 5,000+ or a million+ USD in early 2015. as predicted by crypto elite and "experts" in early 2014.

50 people failed right there but 1 guy here at Startcoin will be right, for sure!  Grin
489  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][HUC] Huntercoin - Human Mining - Decentralized MMO and Crypto Game on: October 30, 2015, 01:26:30 PM
some more bigger news hopefully coming around New Year Smiley

The only news Huntercoin needs is simple to install wallet that does not require days to sync to current block height. That means an archive with the latest wallet(s) and a blockchain, not two separate downloads and a need to mess with where to put what. A complete noob should simply download one file, extract it and then after a bit of syncing start playing. Then the next step would be to simplify wallet, current one is too complicated and requires one to be a geek to use it. There is no way average computer user could figure out how to start playing without messing with forums and whatnot and that is a bad deal.

Also, this community should put more pressure on Cryptsy to upgrade their HUC wallet else they'll delay it to infinity like with many other coins. Every time you are at Cryptsy send a request for HUC wallet upgrade, spam the hell of their support if neccessary.

To developers:

Continue working on stupid bots and overcomplicated wallets and Huntercoin marketcap might hit single digit. Maybe that is what it'll take for you to finaly realise you are on the wrong path here.

Corgi Block Explorer set up at miningalts.com:

miningalts.com and click on corgi or direct at corgi.miningalts.com

Block height is incorrect there, current number of blocks is 485,266

But you idiots still think Max and co. are investing money in this coin.  Grin

Would it be possible to switch Huntercoin to Mini-blockchain scheme like the one used with Cryptonite? I just don't see massive adoption which maintains decentralized fashion of blockchain (each user plays using full node) unless not only blockchain size goes down much but also syncing from zero improves dramaticaly.

496  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [PXC] Phoenixcoin v0.6.6.0 ~ NeoScrypt on: October 24, 2015, 11:33:06 AM
There has been some major PXC dumping activity recently. Not bad time to get in at 50+ sats. The 1st reward halving isn't far away, too.

Neither are people ready to sell or buy much coins and there is not much incentive for any serious investor to buy only 0.1 BTC worth of PXC or some similar coin, that few coins do not give any decent share of total mined coins. If I want to buy 1+ BTC worth of PXC I'd need to rise price to sky and there is no good reason to do that. If instead I place 1+ BTC buy order at 50 Satoshi no one would sell because they'd think price will 2x or even 100x the next week. You miners have to change your habbits realy which means spread coins around at any price. Yes, that means dump down to 1 Satoshi if neccessary to grow community else coins like Phoenixcoin are going nowhere. Just mining and holding your "prescious" coins simply won't work, that should be obvious by now.
497  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Corgi community foundation on: October 24, 2015, 11:23:45 AM
any news?

No, blockchain is still stuck because some moron pumped difficulty to over 14 and then stopped mining.
498  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [SXC][NSFW] Sexcoin - New thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1272422.0 on: October 24, 2015, 11:12:21 AM
This coin needs to get rid off big bloated blockchain first. There is no need to drag around 1GB+ of data which causes syncing from zero to be a pain in the ass. Many coins started over with new genesis block containing all current addresses with balance over zero so why not SXC? Also why not switch to mini-blockchain scheme like XCN https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=713538.0 ?

Why doesn't bitcoin restart with all current balances in a new genesis, who wants to download 40GB to be in sync?

1GB isn't that bad of a download and shouldn't take more than an hour for most people.

Bitcoin is too big and important for such change to ever be implemented, there is also Omni and Counterparty and many other Bitcoin blockchain uses which would be killed if transaction history is gonne. Most altcoins do not have such burden but it is obvious that their developers so fail to realise they should not look at what Bitcoin is doing but go their own path which should include any and all modifications to how coin works. You may continue to think images of naked ladies alone will do the trick but I'm not buying that nor any SXC regardless of price for as long as Sexcoin remains a mere scrypt clone.

Adding SISAR to the .4 BTC list after proving via PM that he submitted a design

Thanks! To clear potential issues with account names, designs were not submited with this account but account "Bitcoin Megastore" which I used at that time for my CafePress shop (Bitcoin T-Shirts and such). After few weeks of no response from CoinHoarder I deleted all designs and after a while everything else I posted then abandoned account and shop. I could not delete posts where others quoted me so here are two from this thread:

It is rather simple actualy, all you have to do is pay some coin developer a bit of money for generic PoS coin with your own graphics (see https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=858789.0 and other similar threads) and create a new genesis block that contains all current addresses with balance over zero. You'd get rid off current blockchain and start over fresh and with 100% working wallet.
