If one imbecile politician has the audacity to still talk about claptrap "net zero" 2030 to supposedly avoid "earth warming" here in the UK I will choke him/her with the frozen spiderwebs outside of my house that now costs 3 times as much to heat per day as it did 2 years ago.

...

...I would not even have a problem transacting with some shitcoin (crypto), if it were a matter of just transitioning through it or just trying to get rid of the lesser quality of money (value) first..

It's crapto, not crypto.

You Euro guys need to get on your representatives asses about this!

Sorry JJG but they are using the term crypto to include bitcoin, you need to batslap them.

When are these new rules coming into force? There's usually a gap between them announcing new rules and implementing them.
506  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: December 11, 2022, 02:43:33 AM
thank you buddy for yet another day of sideways action.

we have a double day this coming week.

cpi on dec 13th

fed rate adjustment on dec 14th

very stable leading to these numbers.

core of 6.2
cpi of 6.9

fed rate up 0.50

Cleveland Fed says (predicts);
core 6.3
CPI 7.5 (wow!)

last time they were off by 0.4, so there is that.

food is fucking nuts.

five guys:
 a hamburger
fries
 a soda

$20.00

fucking nuts.

take you wife and two kids $80

ugh.

Now I can go to a super market.
get 12 ⅓ pound burgers
a package of rolls
peppers
onions
potatoes
peanuts
cheddar cheese.
ice tea.
lettuce
tomato

serve 12 people  a better meal for maybe 50 bucks. buy some btc with leftover 30 usd.

of course I have to cook it serve it and clean it.

To be fair Five Guys has always been expensive, here in the UK at least.

A double cheeseburger, drink and medium fries is about £17 here. I find the fries quite boring personally. Whoever I'm with can have them.

If you're buying for several people it does start to get a bit ridiculous.
Quite a step up from the £5-6 McDonalds meal deals.

BUT Five guys better burger and more filling, more calories and usually the meals keep their heat longer due to better packaging.

Yeah five guys is one of the better fast food joints in the USA,but prices have gone nuts. I usually get the burger with a few toppings onions tomatoes mushrooms. Nothing else

AND IT RUNS 12 BUCKS they serve salted peanuts in the shell while you wait for it. I eat a handful of them and bring the burger out to the car to eat with my own filtered water.

...

the manual dips are harder to get as I don't stay on coinbase all the time.

I did get a lot of dips in the 15-16k slot.

I remember. That's a nice price range to buy in at.

Seems like some support has arrived at 15.8 k oh well

I did get

16.1k
15.9k

and 15.6 just now.

I will be back for 14.9

nice buddy Just simply a relaxed walk down the path to DCA

Provided your exchange doesn't pull the plug when you want to buy.

If coinbase pulls the plug btc is done.

And I lift the btc out of coinbase into my own wallet on a regular basis.

Its gone offline a few times during dips.

I'm grateful that McDonald's took me back, and my manager forgave me for telling him to go fuck himself last year.

buddy the anchor pulling towards 16k
Isn't that good? If I'm not mistaken, you were one of those who always bought bitcoins with all their free money.

A bear market can't last forever, (it's still a great opportunity for me to make a little more Sat).

Well I have a weekly dca.

and every time it gets close to 16k I grab a 4x dca.

To be honest if all of 2023 keeps us in a 15k to 20k slot it works for me.

That's much better than this strategy.

How to tell when the bottom is in?

The MSM will signal it for you, with massive FUD headlines:

Bitcoin could plunge 70% to $5,000, Standard Chartered predicts, in possible 2023 ‘surprise’

https://www.cnbc.com/2022/12/05/btc-bitcoin-could-fall-to-5000-standard-chartered-predicts.html

Jim Cramer urges investors to exit crypto – ‘it’s never too late to sell’

It's amazing how fast they change their minds. One minute bad headlines, the next good headlines.

hey guy block this mofo he is slacking off.

we are under 17k.

I tell you if they do a 0.50% fed jump on the 13th vs a 0.75% jump we will rally bigly.
could happen, but just because many market participants are kids...fed already telegraphed that move.
yeah  and it should work well.
It seems to me that the Feds are trying to figure out some kind of a balance to attempt to achieve a "soft" rally rather than a "bigly" rally, if that is possible. Who knows if it is possible?  ...

In other words, you seem to be optimistically in agreement with the Feds, - expecting a quasi-"soft" landing?  .. i.e... proclaiming that "no babies were killed in this landing"

I don't think they're sure what to do themselves.

I'm convinced he also invented the radio and the wheel, as well as he gave birth to Jesus

Kill me.. call it a coincident... there is twitter account with same username created in Oct 2009 and with dp "Don't trust anyone".

Andy? Andy who?

You have to click follow to see his tweets (if he allows it), and he's only got one follower.

He obviously doesn't trust anyone enough to let them read his tweets (apart from OneFollower).

Furthermore, one user discovered that the mined coins, transferred in 2011, also had “private keys of addresses that mined earlier than the above-mentioned address.” The people in the post wondered if the user Onesignature was actually Satoshi Nakamoto, but Cobra detailed on Twitter that the address was not a “Patoshi block,” a block associated with Bitcoin’s creator, and remarked that it was “unlikely to be Satoshi.”

Quote
“While many people *could* have mined Bitcoin that early, the overwhelming evidence suggests that barely anybody did,” Cobra added. “Bitcoin was obscure, irrelevant, and seen as a dumb idea, why install some random .exe?” In Cobra’s Twitter thread, the pseudonymous whistleblower known as “Fatman” said the old address could have been purchased from someone later in time. Fatman shared an old bitcointalk.org screenshot that shows someone noting that “many old keys have been sold or leaked.”

This is the kind of deal I'm hoping for. Even if I don't get a lambo it's a nice profit to make.

... having bought his first bitcoin way back in 2011. When he bought in, the bitcoin price was $2.52.

Quote
Come October 2017, and Saddington’s cheap investment from 2011 had earned enough profit to allow him to purchase the Lamborghini. Rather than selling his coins at an exchange and buying the car with fiat, however, Saddington made the entire purchase with bitcoin.

Based on what he paid for the bitcoins in 2011, Saddington said his car only cost around $115. Profit from the skyrocketing bitcoin price took care of the rest.

He bought the car in despite the Bitcoin Lambo memes warning against buying a car with the rapidly-appreciating bitcoin. Saddington acknowledged that his purchase may end up costing him $20 million in the future as bitcoin’s value goes up. “But sometimes you just have to reward yourself,” he said.

At a guess if he'd hodled he would be a multi millionaire by now. Maybe I won't be getting a lambo after all.

I certainly wouldn't pay 45 BTC for a car. (if I'm not mistaken that's about the BTC he paid)

But I understand when he is talking about the reward you need to give yourself from time to time...

Everyone needs a reward sooner or later, it just gets expensive with Bitcoin.

*drying off with $8,000 towel.*

That's EPIC!

In my case, I'm currently using a $2000 Trezor...

At least we haven't been eating $90M pizzas (yet)!

I have a couple $1,300 sandwiches

Dont forget my $33,000 iphone 6..

(1.8 BTC on feb 2016)

I had a bloke code some stuff that I can code now myself in 1 hour. Only 25 BTC  Roll Eyes

I have a $15,000 Chinese intercooler setup, lol <about
Sold .8 to make it happen when I think BTC was just under $300

... sold in February 2015. got €20k and invested that in the business. posting this so noobs can learn and not do the same mistake. never sell your precious corn. that was $1.8 mio mistake, currently. if you sell 10btc during next dip it will be the same in a few years. if you sell 1 btc during the next bear, it will be the same in a few more years...

Why FTX's Sam Bankman-Fried is Right

Watch until the end  N  Y  K  N  Y  C

Well I watched it and we also need to listen to him too, in his recent interview with WSJ, where he try to blame everything on Almeda Research.

In the end whatever he says, blame will come back to him. He was the boss, he was responsible for all the things. His oversight is not an excuse. Almeda did bad but he gave them the opportunity to do so.

Or maybe he was not a bad guy and people just took advantage of him and maybe that's the reason he's still free.

But I heard somewhere online that this was all planned to bring more tight and strict regulations. I don't really agree with the conspiracy but you never know... one thing is for sure, regulations are coming!

There's speculation Alameda Research CEO Caroline Ellison might be in the US trying to do a plea bargain with the authorities.

A recent photo of what appears to be former Alameda Research CEO Caroline Ellison in a Manhattan coffee shop in New York has been making the rounds on Twitter.

On Dec. 4, two photos began circulating on Twitter, appearing to show Ellison ordering a coffee at the Ground Support Cafe in Manhattan.

Adding some weight to the possible sighting, Gopher, the Golden Doodle puppy which is understood to be owned by FTX and Alameda execs also seems to be in the photo next to Ellison.

Quote
Some members of the community are surprised that Ellison is on U.S. soil given the possible legal ramifications, while others have speculated that Ellison could be looking to cut a deal with authorities.

The coffee shop in question is only a short walk away from the U.S. Attorney’s Office and the New York FBI office, some have pointed out.
