I can detect my health is really improving a lot, because I am starting to get back the energy (and thus mental locomotion, intense focus, and clarity) to make research level insights again.

Research level insight first published on Rust’s forum by myself:

https://users.rust-lang.org/t/high-order-function-with-type-parameter/3112/30

(Don't know if anyone else made this point in the prior art, I presume probably yes)

P.S. I doubt Bitcoin core devs can do the above, because programming language typing is not their area of specialization (especially the number theorists/cryptographers). We have different talents and specializations, so we need to learn to respect each other.
502  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Erik Voorhes Interview, Creator of Satoshi Dice and Shapeshift. on: April 23, 2016, 06:16:42 PM
can't tell if
sarcasm -or- just being frank

i will try more direct; Voorhees has offered an immediate honest dice platform (okay sold it down the river)(got rich)
Voorhees next lead with an exchange service that offers immediate instantaneous exchange service (okay got hacked but it looks like an amount that can be recovered) ... i'll take that as leadership by example, and a game changing player in the crypto space.

I was just being balanced in listing various observations.

I agree he is a leader by example. His weakness is he doesn't understand the details of the technology and this appears to cause him to make incorrect appraisals of what block chains can and can't accomplish.
503  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: IOTA - Permissioned ledger Russian extortion scheme on: April 23, 2016, 02:14:46 PM
Russian and Florida scum worked together to steal from ShapeShift:

http://moneyandstate.com/looting-of-the-fox/

Although this implicates also an American (with a prior police record), the second and third attacks would not have likely been possible without the cooperation of a hacker ethos in Russia and ostensibly the attitude that they are immune from Western laws.
504  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BTC Halving Failure with Market Price below $900 US$ on: April 23, 2016, 01:43:47 PM
simple solution switch to proof of stake, pow is going to fail sooner or later anyways

Switching to POS is giving power back to users. How is Blockstream supposed to push through with their agenda when they suddenly have to deal with hundreds of decentralized users staking blocks instead of a handful CEOs of the mining cartels?

One day you will read and understand the points that monsterer, smooth, r0ach, ArticMine, myself and others have explained as to why PoS(shit) is just shit and worse than PoW. I don't have time to resummarize. Go find the relevant threads and learn please.

Hey!

I just made a new interview with Erik Voorhes here: http://www.alexfortin.com/erikvoorhes/
He talks about satoshi dice, living free from taxes in Panama and his new altcoin exchange Shapeshift.

Let me know what you think!

Alex

Excellent. Thanks.

You are very astute, precise, and concise with your questions. You definitely have a talent and should perhaps pursue making your own crypto-currency interview site to compete with Let's Talk Bitcoin.

He is very articulate and an excellent writer. Wish you would have asked him why he promulgated the scam Dash at a recent conference. He was also prosecuted by the SEC and settled by repaying all the investors' funds. So a smart guy, but I think he lacks technical knowledge thus he doesn't understand well the technical details. Ditto the recent Shapeshift.io failure alleged to be due to one of the programmers he hired.

I am also disappointed that you didn't ask him about our technical allegations against Ethereum and Augur in the Ethereum Paradox thread, since Erik raved about both.

I have just returned from a holiday around New Zealand, I highly recommend the North Island, north of Wellington the climate is very pleasant.

They also don't seem to be as strict with visas as Australia.

Okay this might be a good choice to consider after Hong Kong. I think a winter stay in Hong Kong would establish my gf to make it easier to qualify for the visas. Applying from Hong Kong instead of the Philippines, I think will give a better impression. Also hopefully JAMBOX is rolling by then as well.

My logic on why iterators are often an anti-pattern:

https://users.rust-lang.org/t/most-coveted-rust-features/324/60

Iterators are opaque semantics.

I was corrected and learned something new and very fundamentally important! Excellent:

509  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: POLL - which coins are scams as defined in the OP? on: April 23, 2016, 11:00:17 AM
"Ignorant bullshit."  -- TPTB_need_war and his take on ICOs

POWs at least require the cost of mining to determine a value.
ICOs can work (honest project managers required) but they are nothing but I.O.Us based on speculation of the value of the a projects potential.
The tokens themselves we created at near nill cost.

He has a lot of reading to do in various threads before he will understand. I don't have time to resummarize it all here for him now.
510  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The bottom will drop out of the alt market soon on: April 23, 2016, 03:13:22 AM
So for them to break even with their current profit margin, BTC Price of $450 has to literally Double to $900 within days of the halving.

That assumes they are breaking even before, which is very likely false.

The Economics 101 of the price meeting demand at marginal supply shouldn't mean anything but gibberish to most here in Altcoin Discussion land.

The impact of marginal miners exiting and more coins for the remaining miners should not even be entertained as a possibility because it violates the K.I.S.S. soundbite principle.

Margin long BTC at maximum leverageI am hedged because I am spending that cash on my expenses so I can have the time to do more important programming which is my best chance for having a good income again.

Haha. You don't have much confidence in my programming and marketing abilities.

As you know, maximum leverage can fail even if the prediction is correct, due to volatility, margin calls, and timing.

I'll take my 33% chance with my programming and marketing over the 5% chance of a maximum leverage position.
513  Economy / Economics / Re: Economic Totalitarianism on: April 23, 2016, 12:55:49 AM
CoinCube is going to get me stop working on coding, hehe. I love those discussions with him and hope I can engage him again not too long from now on the many new theories he has been writing about.

I don't retract those iamback quotes.

As usual, I have a more complex viewpoint which really requires me to take significant time to articulate, as I had one in those essays of mine that CoinCube had cited in the OP of the Economic Devastation. I haven't had time to write like that recently and I don't anticipate having that time over next months because I am so busy on trying to get JAMBOX rolling.

For now, I can only make a very superficial reply, which is to remind CoinCube of his post wherein he astutely pointed out that the new world order had to increase the entropy of mankind, not decrease it. The iamback quotes are referring to the death of the nation-state socialism models we have now. I would not waste my time fighting for Texas because my opportunity cost is too high. But for many Texans, that is all they have to fight for. They don't have my software engineering talent nor my mobility. So many more things I would like to say, but I don't have time to wrap my mind around fully and articulate. My brain is too deep in programming language theory, which is about as far up the computer science ladder you can get.

P.S. I think I will soon be announcing that I am cured from my 4 year chronic illness! Seriously! Having very, very excellent health signs. It seems the sublingual oregano oil was the cure. Am back to eating what ever I like again. Not getting sick from eating any foods as I had been for the past year (and to some extent I was always getting bad symptoms after eating for past 4 years).
514  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: April 23, 2016, 12:41:21 AM
unless we raise the 21e6 coin limit, which is simply out of the question

You mean the asymptotic 0 coin limit. Hehe. (coins are lost perpetually until there are no more spendable coins)

Got Monero?
515  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: April 23, 2016, 12:22:21 AM
Are there any good threads, sites or books dedicated to this subject? I'm between chapbooks and my new obsession is learning how a trustelessly decentralized cryptosystem would look in theory and in practice.

There is my Decentralization delusion thread and also r0ach's Satoshi didn't solve the Byzantine Generals Problem thread which I contributed to significantly. But this will probably read like technobabble to you. The organization is not good.

I will come back to this with an organized white paper when I am ready. Sorry can't do right now. Other priorities come first.
516  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: April 23, 2016, 12:18:41 AM
The other untrue part of his post was a regurgitated talking point about 1MB "stagnating."

The "Ode to 1MB Stagnation" song playing on AM's tiny violin get funnier the more obviously at odds to reality it becomes.

*STAGNATION INTENSIFIES*

 Tongue

Segregated Witness is just another way to centralize mining. I will explain that in the future when I am ready.
517  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: IOTA - Permissioned ledger Russian extortion scheme on: April 23, 2016, 12:14:11 AM
mods have been catching up today. They nuked two of mine (and those of the antagonist) in the IOHK thread that I flagged for deletion on the racist allegation argument.
518  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The bottom will drop out of the alt market soon on: April 23, 2016, 12:10:39 AM
You may end up being correct but why not hedge your bet? Why sell all the BTC you own?

I need the fiat and I was planning to sell any way. Just decided to wait until I could maximize my near-term price.

If you've got a lot of speculation risk in this, I don't know what to say. Don't speculate with more than you stand to lose, i.e. be diversified so you are inherently hedged.

I am hedged because I am spending that cash on my expenses so I can have the time to do more important programming which is my best chance for having a good income again.

Apparently not a good enough graphic artist to prevent the chain from dying.

I want him for making games and social network app stuff. Not a silly logo for crypto-currency.
520  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The bottom will drop out of the alt market soon on: April 22, 2016, 11:04:56 PM

They are good graphic artist though. Is he for hire?
