502  Bitcoin / Press / [2016-07-14] Russian Political Party to Accept Bitcoin Donations on: July 13, 2016, 11:31:01 PM
Reports from Russia indicate a minor political party is moving to accept bitcoin donations.

The Party of Growth, a center-right party formed in 2009 under the name Just Cause, is reportedly looking to begin accepting donations in the digital currency. The move is notable given the Russian government's complicated and long-controversial stance on digital currencies like bitcoin.

News of the donation drive comes in light of reports from Interfax and TASS that cover remarks from Boris Titov, the head of the Party of Growth and an advisor to Russian President Vladimir Putin on business and entrepreneurial issues.

503  Bitcoin / Press / [2016-13-07] Bitcoin Trading Volume In Brazil Surpasses Gold Volumes on: July 13, 2016, 11:42:14 AM
Brazil Warms up To Bitcoin Trading

This trend got stronger as the year 2016 progressed, with Bitcoin trading reaching twice the value of gold trading in that month. But what is driving Brazilian customers and investors to Bitcoin all of a sudden? Gold is an excellent store of value, and its value appreciates over time due to scarcity.

Bitcoin is gaining in popularity all over the world, and Brazil is no exception to this trend. BitValor, a website tracking the Bitcoin trading volume in the whole country, there is a significant trading volume increase compared to all of 2015. Albeit 2015 was successful, exchanges had reported a R$113m trading volume over the course of twelve months. The year 2016 is a 45% increase in numbers, and we are only halfway the 12-month period. Moreover, the first semester of 2016 saw a Bitcoin trading volume equal to the previous three years combined across all Brazilian exchanges.

504  Bitcoin / Press / [2016-13-7]First Foreign VPN Providr Leaves Russia Because of Repressive New Law on: July 13, 2016, 11:35:29 AM
Private Internet Access (PIA), a foreign VPN provider, has announced they are ceasing all operations in Russia due to a new law.

According to a notice sent to customers, a new Russian law was passed that mandated that all service providers log all regional traffic for up to one year. This new requirement has prompted PIA to seek to do business elsewhere.

The provider writes in a blog post:

“We have decided not to do business within the Russian territory. We’re going to be further evaluating other countries and their policies.”

Edward Snowden criticized the new law as well, calling it extreme and cost-prohibitive:

“Putin has signed a repressive new law that violates not only human rights, but common sense. Dark day for Russia.”

507  Bitcoin / Press / [2016-07-13] Bitcoin and China's endless chain of bubbles on: July 13, 2016, 04:47:15 AM
SHANGHAI -- From the stock and property markets to other segments of the economy, bubbles are continually cropping up in China. Lately, the country's investors have been turning to bitcoin in droves.

Chinese investors are constantly shifting from one promising asset to another, seeking to maximize their returns amid excess liquidity. The slowdown in growth means the authorities have little choice but to maintain a fairly accommodative monetary policy, contributing to the abundance of cash.

Chinese President Xi Jinping stressed during a roundtable discussion last Friday that his administration will "continue its aggressive fiscal policy and moderate monetary policy to expand demand adequately."

511  Economy / Economics / Re: The future of the paper money on: July 13, 2016, 04:25:20 AM
Traditional money in the near future will lose its function universal means of payment and will be replaced by electronic money. The main difficulty rejection of coins and banknotes lies not in the level of technology and in human psychology.
In e-money has a number of advantages and disadvantages. Banks and other electronic payments, bills and small change than financial institutions are much cheaper and easier to operate. The development of e-commerce further accelerates the process of eliminating the traditional money.
In the future it could happen, I know digital currency or e-money will rule the world as it gives us the convenience to transact online, and it would be easy to trace our transaction but paper money will not be out in the circulation.

But even then, you're talking about e-money in a form controlled by the government. Our economy and banking system is largely electronic already, but the control of the supply is still down top-down, from the Federal Reserve and the banking institutions it oversees.

E-money is really going to be controlled and manipulated by the government. But about bitcoin if it is going to be implemented to a country they are going hard time to control it.
Because of its decentralization they are going to hard to control it.

agree with you, e-money is just "numeric" no more, goverment can increase or decrease the supply without no one can stop it.
i think bitcoinis the real solution, decentralization and  transparant, so all people can ceck each transaction.
512  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin or gold? on: July 13, 2016, 04:10:23 AM
Oh there is a big difference between both:
You can actually produce gold :3

I mean btc is all virtual whereas you can physically produce gold.
Ok it's not everyone but you got some jobs that do exactly that!

the same of both of them is we can use it as investment, i think the real answer is "Where would you choose to invest your money gold or bitcoin?"
I would choose bitcoin with no doubts, that is what you called loyalty, bitcoin has give me something good that I can say a profit, to be able to support bitcoin, I would do invest a decent amount.

Me either it is going to be bitcoin for me and without doubts I'm choosing it because I have experience the convenience of using it.
And it is giving somehow good profit out of it and you can have lots of way in order to earn for it.

bitcoin give more easy way to buy it, we can found alot exchange at this time. and we can save bitcoin at our pocket, at our smartphone.
bitcoin have new technology where the chance to survive higher than gold.

516  Bitcoin / Press / [2016-07-13] P2P markets need P2P justice on: July 13, 2016, 03:12:47 AM
Peer-to-peer marketplaces are forcing change on the systems we use for dispute resolution. Algorithmic dispute resolution, software-guided settlement negotiation, and even full-service stepped mediation to arbitration Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) projects all existed in 2002–2003.

Despite the promise of lower costs, faster speed, and jurisdictional autonomy, most of those projects have long been abandoned. They simply didn’t catch on. Now, with the invention of bitcoin, open blockchains, and smart contracts, there’s a renewed interest in these services.

Why now? The resurgence is deeply connected with the rise of the peer-to-peer (P2P) economy. As we stop relying on middlemen for trust, as we move to genuine P2P models, we need innovative, independent ways to resolve disputes.

518  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you actively spend your bitcoins? on: July 13, 2016, 02:52:38 AM
I do spend my Bitcoin wisely. I'd use it to buy digital goods, load, gamecards and kept my remaining Bitcoin and spend it only in times of needs or an emergency. Cool
Same like you, i spend bitcoin only for internet purpose like spend it on game online, buying giftcard or selling my stuff online. Also i use it for paying my daily bills. its better than banks cause it only takes small fee

Never use it in daily life.
I just keep btc as an investment purpose. It's cool this way, it avoids me from spreading everything ^^

I would say that it is better if you are going to stop spending actively because the price is going to increase.
And that's what I'm hoping because it is going to happen just like what happened this past few months.

each people have diffirent needs, i think spend his bitcoin for daily cost, buying food, shoap etc. is normal, if he not have dollar he must spend his bitcoin (withdraw), we need buying something everyday.
519  Bitcoin / Press / [2016-13-07] How To Buy Bitcoin After That ‘Mr. Robot’ Episode on: July 13, 2016, 02:31:27 AM

Is it time to buy Bitcoin? Has the idea finally come into vogue after nearly seven long years? My YouTube video, “How To Buy Bitcoins: In 3 Minutes” is already up to 18,412 views (you can watch it here), which is amazing considering it was shot in about, well, 3 minutes - quite unprofessionally from my garbage fire of a laptop at the time, no less.

Word about Bitcoin and crypto technology seems to be spreading from house to house, Internet user to Internet user, YouTube commenter troll to YouTube commenter troll... like a modern day echo chamber of Paul Reveres spreading the word all at once.

The traditional media certainly hasn’t done Bitcoin many favors - all the scare stories about hacked exchanges and hypothetical security breaches, when the “establishment” financial system continues to fleece the public with quite non-hypothetical fees and absurdly low interest rates.

520  Other / Off-topic / Re: Are you buying bitcoins? Why? on: July 13, 2016, 02:21:23 AM
Nope!
I'd say it's a good thing to separate fiat from crypto.
You can earn btc in lots of ways. Invest fiats in other things but don't buy cryptos in my opinion, they're 2 separate worlds.

iwe must not focus at 1way, we must look other way like mining, trading some altcoin, trading fiat currency , gambling, and sure don't forget to save at fiat for backup your capital, so yu can buy more btc if the price fail.
