Sometimes, down the bottom, when the mouse is placed over the CloakShield symbol, the symbol is greyed out and the pop-up text reads "CloakShield unavailable."
What is happening / not happening here?
It happens when no anon nodes are available. I have staked Cloak for over a year. I installed Evolution. Rewards stopped on or about 2/20. I also see that the number of nodes I am connected to has fallen to only 3. Cloakshield is unavailable. Only one Enigma node available. What do I need to change to fix this? Sure, I could reinstall, but is there something else going on that I missed reading about? Thanks. Did you unlock your wallet for minting? The wallet stakes the coins fine there are no known issues with that. In avg. you can expect 60-70 anon connections or more, i think there are still a lot of older wallets not updated and the old enigma nodes cannot communicate with the new enigma nodes. Did you restart your wallet ? Okay, something is very wrong with Cloak. Yes, my wallet is unlocked. Yes, I reinstalled the evolution wallet. I only see between 3 and 7 connections on any day, which is way down from where it used to be. And the last reward I earned was on 2/20. Enigma nodes are not available. I am synchronized and am reportedly up to date. My weight should bring a reward every 19 hours on average. How is it possible to go one full month on this new wallet release and receive nothing? I did not have these issues on the next to last wallet release. I would love to hear the explanation, and something beyond "it works perfectly well, no known issues" because clearly there are some serious issues with Evolution. And I have run Cloak wallets since late 2016. 60-70 anonymous connections? On what planet? I am not a member of the dev team, just offering some advise. Staking works just fine here as I'm sure many others are staking as well. Sounds like your on your own little fork. And, I've run CLOAK wallets since 2014. This is not official advise but, in situations like this, deleting the blockchain data and peers.dat then restarting the wallet so it can redownload the chain usually fixes the problem. Happens quite often when upgrading wallets that have been running for long time when a new one is released. Backup your wallet.dat file first and don't delete it with the blockchain files. Resync will take a while. Oh and, make sure you are actually running the updated wallet not the old one. An easier approach would be to totally delete everything associated with the CLOAK wallet EXCEPT wallet.dat, save that in a safe place, and do a fresh install of the new wallet. Make sure Windows put the wallet executable in the same place it was before. I assume you are using windows.... |

Hmm McAfee is smart but I don't think he codes much. Also it's known that he tried to extort coin devs in exchange for tweets. I think he is correct about the viability of XVG. Privacy coins are already on the upswing this month, and I see no reason that won't continue. With the NSA Bitcoin spying revelations today I see bulls... doesn't code much? r u kidding? He hacked the Belizian govt. Not a really difficult thing to do actually, must have been on of his "clear" days.... |

Hi R-J-F, You're right, it totally needs an update. Those of us involved in the Fedora reboot are updating/refreshing a lot of channels, but we're also mindful of the original communities that we are interacting with as well as the emerging communities. The Bitcointalk forums are probably the most active in terms of legacy community, and we are aware of that and who came before us. Plus the fact that there's two active Fedora threads complicates things! So our approach at present is to interleave our dialog with the already existing dialogs and not attempt to wholesale co-opt what's taking place. The hope is that from this the nexus of a larger community will emerge (hopefully in the near term!) at which point either an updated OP or a new thread will be natural progression. Hope that makes sense! Please shout out if not  Best, Robots. Understood. I didn't mean to come across rude but, I see a lot of these revivals make the mistake of ignoring BCT. It might not be all pretty and new but, it's usually the first place newbies land. Keep up the good work! |

Hi Sania, Thanks for your thoughts, but I think Thiec is correct here. We don't want to mess with people's crypto savings or the amounts that they own. The best thing is for us to grow the value of Tips so that it can easily trade with Bitcoin - I think that is easily possible when people see the value of the Fedora project and our plans for making it better. So one 1billion verge were stolen? This shit coin was hyped by McAfee at went to from 50 sats to 1600. Now with this hack will go back to 50 again, feel sorry for the holders and those who bought at peak believing this is the next Dash or Monero.
I still remember last year when I bought it at 30, 15 and 5 sat then down to 1 sat in the next week and before McAfee attacked the crypto. And I took it off at the price of 30 40 and 50. Many say that this coin in the future it will touch the price of 1000 sat but I do not believe and say impossible because the total amount of its supply is more than 1 billion. And it's true this coin rises up not because of its features but just because of the hype and attack from a person like McAfee.  McAfee after he was introducing Verge he regret it why? He said that he had miscalculate Verge with due to Max the supply of 30 billion, that it can’t be worth more than $0.005!! He haven’t miscalculate anything he was pissed off, by some reason, you can speculate yourself of the reason. However there is nothing wrong with Verge it is one of the best private coins on the market. When the blood bath is over in the cryptomarket we will see much higher price and Verge will rise. A guy like McAfee does not make mistakes by miscalculate the supply of a coin, he was pissed he said that himself also. Here's an interesting article about how women are often overlooked in our industry. I post it here because of the DNotes commitment to actively reach out to women. Written by a man, it's a bit of an apology piece and quite touching. He does, however, miss one very important point. Maybe we're not at big events because we don't want to be. Maybe we don't find external recognition to be particularly important. Maybe we're busy being women and plain don't have time. I don't want to tell you how many writing assignments and trades I've done during odd moments when I had a break from tending to children, or how many times I sat down to work on a project knowing I'd better write fast so I could get it done before baby woke up from a nap. Part of the nature of this industry, the fact that it's all Internet based which means you can do it anytime, anywhere, means that fame or recognition is honestly not as important to success as it is in some other industries. Not that recognition is bad or anything. I think there are more and more women getting involved, and I don't mean sales people or unskilled labor, I mean managers and corporate governance. They are more task oriented and more committed to success through hard work as opposed to flashy presentations and corporate titles. It no longer surprises me when I read stories of women turning around floundering businesses or introducing new products, etc. If you are disciplined and able to put your time into a cause day after day without someone patting you on the back all the time, you will become the person who does the patting in short order if, and here, is the caveat, if you play your cards right. As much as I hate to admit it, it's still a man's world in corporate America as byzantine as that is and change is moving slowly but, it is moving. Women have to be wary of everyone around them in business even more than men and that is dead wrong. But, crypto brings a new paradigm where everyone can be on a more level playing field. So much of crypto is behind the scenes rather then in front of the cameras that it's hard to distinguish male from female so the old bias is loosing it's footing. I'm going out on a limb here but, I bet there are more women in this field than we see or know about. The future is always created in the present so current bias has a role but, I see it becoming less and less relevant as time passes. Those who think they have no effect on the future have already had an effect, they just might not realize it. |

Don't Ignore The Gatekeepers
I see the SEC involvement as a good thing. More and more, almost every day, crypto gains legitimacy and takes another step toward mass adoption. The old days of "wild west" trading and selling are coming to a close, Bitcoin is becoming gentrified. Sure, there will always be outliers and new ideas will create new projects and methods but, in the long run, it's getting easier to see crypto operating next to fiat and being considered a real investment/asset like gold. We may even replace the old systems someday but, not without constant vigilance.
This is a crucial time for our industry. We need to be ever so careful and attentive in guiding our lawmakers in the right direction and smoothing "knee jerk" reactions by informing those lawmakers of what is real and what is, for lack of a better term, FUD. before inappropriate laws enter the books and hurt us all. I see it as our collective duty to seek out issues that could stifle the industry and do what we can to correct misconceptions and ignorance. If we ignore the bigger picture and think only of ourselves, we are doomed.
We are not only the architects of our own future, we are it's stewards as well. Don't be afraid to speak out when you see an injustice and don't be to smug to offer praise where praise is do. ultimately, we are in control of our own financial future, lets not blow it.
