Does anyone think that now is a good idea to buy? Ive waited for a few months like I was told and now this has reverse?

"That's my advice.

Also, don't listen to anyone's advice on the Internet. Wink"

I love this place.. "That's my advice" --> Don't listen to it!

I'm not telling you to buy or sell..

I think this IS a/the breakout.
More confirmations required to confirm reversal. We need to stay above $550 in my opinion for reversal confirmation.
Though it would appear the downtrend is in fact broken.

A better time to buy would have been at $400-$430..

If momentum continues right through June.. we'll e over $600 by then. So, ask yourself.. what is the entry point you are looking for?
523  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: May 20, 2014, 02:27:58 PM
I hate making prediction.. as i am usually always wrong.. but it's nice to watch a few buy pushing the price in the right direction.
Refreshing even!

Keep it up! I wanna see $600 by the w/e...
524  Economy / Speculation / Re: Who are these "big investors" and what are they waiting for? on: May 19, 2014, 01:38:33 PM
In all seriousness, why hasn't RandomPedestrianN9 been banned yet? He isn't interested in a discussion, he's only here to troll.

because we should not ban people for their opinions, no matter how unsubstantiated. there's Ignore button for that.

I totally agree on not banning people for their opinions, bitcoin should be carefully scrutinized in every possible way. Valid criticism will only make it stronger. But this person is not adding anything constructive at all. He doesn't even reply when his "logic" is commented upon... And now we see him running around the forum yelling like a little child and calling everyone names. Jesus fucking Christ. Well, at least he doesn't hide what he really is.

+1

So why isn't he banned yet?

Adoption is speeding up, volume just reached its new ATH, another Bitcoin exchange went down.....probably server issues, definitely not a security breach or stealing customers coins on purpose.

TO DA MOON!

don't you have anything better to do with your life ? I can't even imagine what an empty life you have, being able to come here and waste your time and energy and nerves on a something is "doomed" is really pathetic, don't forget every minutes of your life counts, use your time wisely.... but if you want me to translate that to your understanding level, then it translates to: "get a fucking life"

I think I broke my record for fatest ignore with this idiot. Try not to rise to the bait.. you may be unknowingly providing some sick amusement. Find the ignore button and use it. Please don't repost or quote him.. and don't feed the troll. Thank you.

Now that is a surprise!

On a friday too.. it might not be such a quiet weekend afterall!
527  Economy / Speculation / Re: rpietila Wall Observer - the Quality TA Thread ;) on: May 14, 2014, 03:34:16 PM
And it is rallying: 0.447 touched for the first time in 72 hours!

We've come (fallen) a long way if this is what constitutes a rally nowadays!
528  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: May 14, 2014, 11:26:50 AM
Are we in the midst of a pump and dump? Considering the lack of volume one wouldn't think so but with the price having been slightly increasing since about 20:00 EST last night until now I'm wondering if a dump is in our near future?

Wild guess: mild interest from Bitcoin 2014 conference in Amsterdam (which so far has not made any big news at all). And maybe some demoing of ATMs going on over there.

Begins Tomorrow!?

IF it takes off all over the world.. then the Chinese government, despite their efforts won't be able to stop people.

Just to make my perhaps radical view clear, I would like nothing less than an immediate official ban on Bitcoin in China, so the taking off can happen much quicker. If the Chinese government doesn't double down on its efforts to stamp out Bitcoin in China immediately, then I think we may be in for more teething problems.  Smiley

I would tend to agree.. and whoever said.. i think that might be their plan.. could also be correct.
It just looks like a continued and ongoing fudge attempt. I'm still long term bull.. in fact more than ever.
I expect all sorts of roadblocks and fireworks along the way.. but make no mistake.. this is happening.
I am convinced that we've already passed the tipping point.. the point of no return. There is just far too much momentum behind this thing.
It won't be stopped. It can't be stopped. The genie is out of the bottle.
Even China.. i think most here would agree.. for all their efforts.. they are only slowing the progress a bit. If it's 1 year..2 years or 5 years.. long term it's not so important.
It's just a delaying tactic to buy time while they scratch their collective heads and try to counter this.. problem is.. they can't and don't know how.
Roadblocks and delaying tactics will only work for so long.
The game has already changed.

I just re-read this...  i think there is a more than 50% chance i might still be dunk.. apologies for the rambling! Smiley cheers..

Windjc is right, it takes a lot of money to raise btc price at this mkcap. And without A LOT of fresh fiat it is not very possible scenario. We better hope BTC adoption suddenly accelerates and creates a new hype. Its good that money is flowing into infrastructure and eco-system because without that btc has no sense except for speculation, and at least it is getting some positive news coverage.

I am a long-term bull but what you hope for is not enough. Adoption can take off all over the world but if it does not take off in China (and clearly this is what the Chinese government wants) then Houston, we have a problem! (Please see above posts for why I think this is the case)
'

Bullshit....

Bitcoin > CHina

+1,000

Adoption can take off all over the world but if it does not take off in China

The great Firewall of Chine people.. it couldn't stop the internet.. sure it made it less straightforward.. but if people want something.. then their government sure as hell won't be able to stop them. So.. if it 'takes off all over the world' - there'll be nobody left behind.. everyone will want some regardless of what their government tells them.

That manor can be turned into something that looks so much better than the first pic. Go with white & gold man! Smiley That's what some architectures do. Buy them in such state and sell back with triple the price. So much jellyness in the air. Everything aside, it's possible to make a profit after a complete decoration work. That alone makes it a smart investment.

No please no!!!
And secondary , can we talk about dumps and walls or ponies or unicorns rather than this damn subject!

It's wall observer not Risto observer

Okay, someone just dumped 300+BTC worth of fiat.

We call it the anti-dump.

It was almost certain someone will try and buy after the dip. But i'll be amazed if the price won't be back up in less than 1 hour .... or two.

Nearly at pre-dump prcie already..  ~$2

Why does every thread in which Rpietila post turns into a discussion about Rpietila ?

Personally, i don't blame him per se.. it always seems to be everyone else taking shots at him and he rightly defending himself.
Sees to be a game for some people on here.. what they're trying to achieve though is anyone's guess. Cause him to lose face perhaps? It seems childish.
534  Economy / Exchanges / Re: www.BITSTAMP.net Bitcoin exchange site for USD/BTC on: May 06, 2014, 01:37:35 PM
They told me my drivers license is also OK. Will try to send them the documents tonight...

About using another exchange, tell, me, which one?

I don't trust BTC-e. And it is very expensive to get EUR in.
Localbitcoins? Not for me...

Kraken maybe? Never tried it...

I am used to Bitstamp. I would like to continue using that exchange, but if it is impossible, I will need to change...

I will let you guys know what they think of the bank statements I send them. I will NOT be sending my whole financial hostory.

Hi mate.. I used localbitcoins to buy my first 6-7 coins in separate buys 1-2 coins each time and had zero problems.

Also, as i see you're in EU - bitcoin.de is ok. I haven't tried Kraken yet, but i believe it'S alright. I also used Stamp for 6 months. but don't really bother with it anymore.. i have as much coins as i need for now! If i need to buy more, my options are bitcoin.de, Stamp or lastly localbitcoins.
To sell, I'd only use Stamp.

Lovely.. two idiots trying to outsmart each other.

Well, it makes my afternoon a little less boring.

Maybe its a bulltrap, but i dont recall the fat red "China news" candle being nullified so fast on the 2h chart.

and the china "news" didn't produce much of a dip.

After 10+ "bans" :

- any Chinese who wanted to go away from bitcoin could have already done this.
- any Chinese who wanted to keep dealing with bitcoin, store value (etc.) may do it other way or elsewhere
- it is harder to flow more fiat (cny) for most of chinese people - still I'm not sure it's because of average Joe (average Lee?  Cheesy) we got to 1200$ some months ago...

It makes me think of a proverb/story about a "boy who cried wolf", each alert for ban means less and less reaction.

Also, thanks for the Bloomberg link, that's good news !

Exactly - China is the boy who cried wolf. Sorted. Now let's move on.

The first country might be among these ones:

1. Channel Isles
2. Cayman Islands
3. St Kitts
4. Bermuda
5. Nauru

CYPRUS!!

Sorry for shouting, but they are setting themselves up as a bitcoin hub. If it happens anywhere (a government run exchange) then i would guess Cyprus would be among the first places it's likely to happen in.

Without positive news on mtgox front, adoption will slowly fade and bitcoin value will drop to single digit. Only savegox or similar proposal and the discovery of what really happened at mtgox can save bitcoin and resume its run to $10K-$100K

Ah Schtopppp will ya??... have a look outside, and if it's a nice day, go for a walk or something.. go outside, get away from the computer...

Single digits? Good man. Coz Gox? Good man. Markets priced gox in ages ago.. Dead exchange.. dead, gone, done.
