I am lost ? Is he talking about mining it ?

Yes and Yes.

Yes correct, I was talking about mining.

Now of course one could always buy bitcoins directly but then if price goes down lose it. That felt more risky to me than mining.

I feel mining is less risky because just because the price of Bitcoins go down does not mean anything since the rig is still mining coins. In fact when the price goes down, a lot of miners will drop out and hopefully lower the hash rate out there allowing better mining returns in coins.

Anyway, its nice to see that most everyone will make back the money invested in rigs and make some money while they are at it if demand for the coins stays like this. :-)

"New block detected on network" means a block was found but it does not mean your rig found it. As bigdaub mentioned you should mine on a pool to see some coins roll into your wallet and get used to the stats etc.

If I was mining with 125 GH/s would you join a pool or keep it solo?  We have zero electricity cost, and the total investment is around 28k.  However, we have yet to find a pack, and want to try and make something back

BFL 60 singles selling at about $3k on Ebay right now...120Ghz would be about $6k...where is this $28k investment going for 125Ghz...

Also, 125Ghz is very little given the rate at which difficulty is going up...join a pool as 125Ghz is quite tiny these days and you would need some major luck on your side to mine off a block solo.

O M G

I was able to ROI in just 3 weeks given the boost Bitcoins got this month.

People all crying that ROI is tough....is there anyone who could not ROI??

Given the way BTC is climbing, any rig could be ROIed given a bit of patience?

Chime in plz...

Please tell me what "FIAT" is ? And why can't it be withdrawn ? Let's take Coinbase.. If you bought 5 coins there 6 months ago and they are just sitting there in your wallet. Should I be able to go to coinbase and sell my coin ASAP ? I ask because that is my situation. I hold less, but am curious because I bought for invesment purposes only. Thanks for your reply.

Yo FIAT is basially cash or paper money. You should sell that holding right now given the price cause its a good time to do so.

You could hold on longer if you are willing to take a bit of a risk, the rewards could be ridiculous like $10,000 a bitcoin but no guarantees is the issue.

OMG you think that was the annoyance?

Dude, it took me two weeks to figure out that this was the only area where I could post.

I was like 'Where on earth is the 'Post' or 'Reply' link....after so many visits, finally I found this area to post.
530  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: anyone knows where to get free bitcoins? on: November 29, 2013, 01:52:31 AM
There are some websites you can do something like watch videos or click links or do some other tasks and get paid in bitcoins.

I used to get paid like 50 micro bitcoin a video  at http://www.bitcoinget.com/video but now its down to 5 micro bitcoins given the price of bitcoins going so high.

Be careful of places which require minimum payouts because you will never make it sometimes given how they keep decreasing the amount they pay for stuff while keeping same minimum payouts. This http://btcclicks.com/ads is impossible to ever get a payout.
