for someone who's thinking of taking trading a bit more seriously, where would you suggest to get the best info? traditional market/forex books, webinars, etc? any tips for good classes?

I suggest you study indicators etc such as Bollinger Bands, MACD, CCD, Divergence etc. This will make it easier for you to choose ENTRY and EXIT points. There are many videos on YouTube demonstrating the same. Sooner or later, you will be able to design the indicator which falls within your own comfort.
503  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will it hit $1000 again? on: January 15, 2014, 12:57:24 AM
Expect $1500 btc's by mid January.

Oh really?
504  Economy / Speculation / Re: Time to dump BTC now I say... on: January 15, 2014, 12:55:55 AM
You can change the 'Time Period' and go for shorter period if want to trade on a daily chart or hourly chart. Below is a 5 day chart showing dips and rises.

Combining several charts gives a better perspective.

Watch as it heads lower...
506  Economy / Speculation / Re: Time to dump BTC now I say... on: January 14, 2014, 01:19:57 PM
I usually dump load at -100 such as on Dec 17 and pick up at a lower price....

You usually do? So you did dump at $100 per coin in October? How did "picking up lower" went for you that time? Or you are just making stuff up now, looking at how one indicator lined up well this one particular time?

"All this is not set hard in stone though.." is what I said. Just wanted to bring up some discussions about charts and technical analysis is all...
507  Economy / Speculation / Re: Time to dump BTC now I say... on: January 14, 2014, 01:04:50 AM
Sure thing, I will post here when I see the BUY indicator come up.
508  Economy / Speculation / Re: Time to dump BTC now I say... on: January 13, 2014, 11:11:25 PM
[qoute]pick up at a lower price....[/quote]

Buy back in when the line goes back over -100. Its not even below -100 yet so will have to wait to buy back in. Take a look at what happened around Dec 17th. Entry when it cuts below -100 and exit when goes over -100.

All this is not set hard in stone though..
509  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What is your behaviour during a decline in the market? on: January 13, 2014, 03:40:36 AM
I am just glad the price goes down so more miners don't join into the mining game and raise the difficulty levels...

I hope BTC falls to $200 so I can gather em up...
510  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Warning: Your Cryptsy estimated balance might be too high. on: January 13, 2014, 02:23:22 AM
You have to consider open trades at the rates you have set to sell them and not current market rates, then it will match up to that balance.

If you have no open trades, it should be accurate as per current market value.

I don't think most traders fail because of lack of ability, but more likely lack of discipline.

Well, someone has to fail if someone else has to make money, right? ;-)
512  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: WOW,I guess I'm not a newbi anymore so I have a question on: January 13, 2014, 02:13:57 AM
You may want to learn reading charts to perform technical analysis....read the news for fundamentals as well...

For example, learn about MACD, CCD, Divergence etc...and see what indicators work for your trading periods...

http://bitcoincharts.com/charts/mtgoxUSD#rg60ztgSzbgBza1gWMAzm1g10za2gWMAzm2g25zxzi1gCCIzi2gMACDzv

Basically, learning when to enter a trade and most importantly when to exit out of a trade...I usually enter in at +100 or -100 depending on direction and exit out at the same when the spike is over....

Appears time to dump BTC at this time....

I usually dump load at -100 such as on Dec 17 and pick up at a lower price....

MACD about to go lower than EXP and a nice tight negative divergence about to start...

What happened to the December orders though? And January delivery?

All of my clients don't work after upgrading to Windows 8.1 from Windows 8.

They start up and immediately give error saying "bitcoin-qt.exe has stopped working" and similarly "namecoin-qt.exe has stopped working" etc.

I have tried totally uninstalling and installing again after removing from both install folder and Apps\Roaming folders. Also tried to start with -reindex parameter but no luck. Tried as administrator as well.

Not sure what's up but all qt based apps don't work now on Windows 8.1.

Anyone have any suggestions please help me out!!

Thanks for your help~

Its a good idea to drop at 850 or at least below 1000. Once it passes the 1000 psychological level, we never know what monkey cake fiasco levels Bitcoin will reach and selling would be a missed train...

Dumping at around 820-860 sounds like a swell idea at this point especially if you got on board originally at the sub $200 level anyways.

If you think that mining bitcoins is a cheaper way to get them, then I'll bet that you haven't looked at what's available and done the math. While it may be possible to buy mining equipment that will generate a profit, most people do not or can not.

I mine....and I have grown to the point that I can't believe this is happening. Its quite profitable.
518  Economy / Economics / Re: the huge Problem that most people doesn't really understand on: December 07, 2013, 03:31:26 AM
This is how the Fed works. They print 10 bucks and LOAN it out to the other banks. Now the other banks owe the Fed 10.5 bucks in all because of interest.

WHERE IS THE 0.5 bucks going to come from?Huh There is no extra 0.5 in the economy at all. And the interest keeps ticking and ticking and ticking....

Bitcoin gives a finger to financial institutions as well as governments which are influenced by the rich anyway. Its a huge finger at that too!  Grin

519  Economy / Economics / Re: Prospero X-1 (100Ghash/second) worth it? on: December 07, 2013, 03:15:21 AM
I was looking at doing the same thing, so I'll tag along here...

I know where these Chinese guys are located in Shenzhen. Don't even dream of getting these on time if you get them at all. That's all I will say.

rate now 980 - 995.
Thanks.
First of all this is in the newbie post area. Secondly, there is no one who has posted a positive transaction feedback with this guy.

Scam central if you ask me.
