521  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin's fee to our beloved miners on: December 07, 2023, 07:41:15 PM
Do you work in mining? Miners will be very happy about this topic of yours? Wink

Joking aside, we all know the importance of miners in the continuation and stability of the Bitcoin network. We will of course not mind if miners take some additional fees to continue their work, but within reasonable limits.

It does not make sense that I paid a $10 fee yesterday in order to send a $100 transaction. This is too much, equivalent to 10%. If the fee for $100 was about $2-3, for example, things would be more logical and acceptable to everyone.
522  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: U.S. Treasury Campaigning for Amplified Powers to Chase Crypto Overseas on: December 07, 2023, 07:11:08 AM
This is the right and responsibility of the world hegemon.
Unfortunately, this is the reality and we cannot do anything about it at the present time, but things do not remain as they are. One day the tables will inevitably turn.

so does a stablecoin based on the us dollar have to maintain a bank account in us dollars in the USA? it seems like there should be some way to insulate themself from the us banking system while at the same time being pegged to the dollar. because if they could insulate themself from the usa banking system then there's no way the USA could have any control over them.
How can they isolate themselves from the US banking system? This is very difficult at the moment. I mentioned previously that there have been many attempts to remove dollarization, but they have all failed, so it is difficult for stablecoins to isolate themselves from the US banking system if dollarization is not removed.

They can do this within narrow areas of the world, but if they want to reach globalization, they cannot isolate themselves from the American banking system.
523  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Mixers - Are we the product? on: December 07, 2023, 03:00:11 AM
A really interesting theory, then it can be said that mixers play the role of intermediary between criminals looking to hide their tainted money and users looking for privacy, as the tainted coins are discarded and replaced with clean coins.

Criminals get clean coins while privacy-seeking users get tainted coins. This is a scenario that sounds pretty disgusting.

I do not know if this scenario is correct, but on the other hand, the opposite can be said, that governments are promoting such a theory to discredit mixers?

It cannot be said that all mixers are innocent, but at the same time, not all of them are evil.

525  Economy / Reputation / Re: Most famous person on Bitcointalk? on: December 06, 2023, 10:47:09 AM
Unfortunately, I did not have the luck to meet any of these celebrities here on the forum, but fortunately the founder of the forum is still active with us today and is considered one of the old Bitcoin participants.

The most famous figures, such as Satoshi, Hal, and others, are no longer among us now, and no one knows whether Satoshi is dead or alive? No one knows, maybe he is alive and entering the forum under a pseudonym or an alternative account? Who knows?
526  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: U.S. Treasury Campaigning for Amplified Powers to Chase Crypto Overseas on: December 06, 2023, 10:25:59 AM

"Legislation could explicitly authorize OFAC to exercise extraterritorial jurisdiction over transactions in stablecoins pegged to the USD (or other dollar-denominated transactions) as they generally would over USD transactions," the proposal suggested, giving a reach into transactions that the document notes "involve no U.S. touchpoints."

Adeyemo doubled down on that idea in his Wednesday remarks, saying that non-U.S. stablecoin issuers shouldn't be able to use the U.S. dollar without "procedures to prevent terrorists from abusing their platform."
[/i]

i'm sure those procedures would involve hunting down and throwing foreigners in jail if they were abusing tether. the USA wants to do that.  Shocked

The worst thing about stable currencies is their connection to the dollar. There were many ideas to remove dollarization. This was very difficult at the present time, and all attempts failed and it seems that they will fail for a long time.

Through the dollar, the United States dominates the world economy and therefore has the legal right to pursue stablecoins that are linked to the dollar, and now, under the pretext of fighting terrorism, they are able to pursue any platform or Service or man outside the borders of the United States and anywhere in the world.
527  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Perhaps new problems for Tron on: December 06, 2023, 09:44:44 AM
Does this mean that the TRON network will face serious problems and the possibility of being banned?

I personally rely on USDT on the Tron network for most of my money transfers. I send Bitcoin from my wallet to the exchange, then exchange it into USDT Tron, and then send it to a local broker to convert it to a local currency because this is the only way available in my country.

Yesterday I saw an advertisement on the Telegram channel of the financial brokerage I use stating the need to use a coin other than Tron, but I did not think that there were legal problems threatening Tron, such as supporting terrorism.
This is really disgusting, so what is a good stablecoin that has cheap and fast fees if Tron gets banned?

529  Economy / Economics / Re: Venezuela vs Guyana. A new problem in the oil market ? on: December 05, 2023, 07:33:38 PM

The only question is - does Maduro understand that starting this aggression, there is a very high probability of events developing in such a way that he will leave his post much earlier and with much worse consequences for HIMSELF than losing the elections!?
I hope he understands that, I hope he understands that he is leading his country into a disaster that is much greater than the economic disaster and problems it is suffering from and will cause woes to his people and to the neighboring country.

Maduro must understand the political game and understand that Russia is trying to drag him and the region into a regional war to relieve pressure on the Ukrainian front and scatter the United States on two separate fronts. I heard that some of Wagner's terrorist forces have already begun to arrive.

I hope that these leaders understand the serious consequences of their reckless decisions and understand that war is not a child's game that can be started and ended at will.
530  Economy / Speculation / Re: So I guess we sell at $48626 ? on: December 05, 2023, 03:29:38 AM
Now that Bitcoin broke 41K$ and shot with a big candle above it, it is easy to reach 48K$, I think, profit taking will be good for speculators who bought at lower levels.

48K$ is a good number for making profits, but it is not my goal at the moment. I am mostly waiting for it to exceed 70Kِ$ within the next year in order to sell.

We will certainly see a lot of selling pressure at the 48K$ price area for speculators and some investors, but the majority of Holders are waiting for the next peak after the halving to sell their Bitcoin.
531  Economy / Economics / Re: Venezuela vs Guyana. A new problem in the oil market ? on: December 05, 2023, 02:18:02 AM
Since the region is rich in oil, it will certainly become a theater for regional and global conflict. Of course, as is known, Venezuela is in a state of hostility with the United States and has friends such as Russia, China, and North Korea, who are the traditional enemies of the United States.

Therefore, the region will most likely become a scene for a global conflict whose main poles, as usual, are the United States on the one hand and Russia and China on the other. The United States has announced its intention to build a military base in Guyana to protect the interests of major American oil companies operating in oil exploration concessions in the region.

Under these circumstances, I do not expect Venezuela to dare to go to war with American forces next to it. Most likely, this is a kind of electoral propaganda and escape from internal problems.
532  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: First Bitcoin Bar in Sofia, Bulgaria looks Interesting on: December 05, 2023, 01:55:17 AM
These beautiful pictures will delight all Bitcoin lovers around the world. Everyone is looking forward to that day when everything in our lives becomes related to Bitcoin and proceeds in a normal and legal way without any problems from governments.

Such lovely things encourage everyone to take the initiative to do similar things in their countries around the world, if this does not expose them to danger, of course, because it is difficult to do so in countries that ban Bitcoin or consider its possession a crime punishable by law.

In any case, a very nice initiative, thank you for participating and posting the pictures.
533  Local / العربية (Arabic) / Re: مزيج Sinbad Crypto تم حجزه on: December 05, 2023, 01:41:41 AM

534  Other / Meta / Re: Mixers Signatures : A challenge or Respect on: December 04, 2023, 08:16:43 PM
What does this have to do with respecting forum decisions? If Thymos has given the validity period until the end of December, is it disrespectful to the forum to continue wearing the signature until then? . Come on!!!

If Thymos had wanted to stop the campaigns before that, he would have told everyone clearly about his decision!!!

I don't know what's the point of opening this topic in the first place. Everyone respects the forum and Thymos's decision and everything will be stopped before the start of the new year exactly as scheduled. What more do you want?
535  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Is my plan legal? Managing the account of a dead person on: December 04, 2023, 07:13:41 AM
Well, after reading all these legal plans to avoid taxes legally, I feel happy that I live in a country where Bitcoin is not subject to any regulatory law (knowing that Bitcoin is illegal in my country), here in my country we do not have any law to regulate Bitcoin or impose taxes on Bitcoin holders.

I don't know much about taxes in Europe, but if this is really true, then this is the stupidity of governments. How do they impose exorbitant taxes, which makes citizens in these countries think of a thousand ways to avoid paying these disgusting taxes in any way? There are even lawyers specializing in finding legal loopholes for this problem. This is ridiculous.
536  Economy / Economics / Re: Goverments must have good plan very soon on: December 04, 2023, 03:28:37 AM
What can the government do? They basically don't have solutions. Whenever economic geniuses think of a solution to an existing problem on the ground, they create a new problem, because the systems followed by the government are corrupt systems that simply cannot solve any problem.

The situation may be worst in poor countries, but rich countries also have major problems that are worsening day by day, and the global economy is heading toward collapse.

There is no solution except to change these rotten minds that have controlled all governments for many years and replace them with younger ones that are able to understand the developments and needs of the times.
537  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin transactions - are we living in stone age? :( on: December 04, 2023, 02:18:30 AM
wrong.

at a minimum binance and coinbase have to work.

especially since binance is on the outs with usa.

and  no hard wallet does it.

you are not going to make this work with just binance and electrum.

if you think all btc will be able to work with only binance and electrum offering LN

you are forgetting everyone must have those two services

Ie how do you send me LN if I own a trezor and a safepal wallet.

I completely agree with you on this point, I for example reside in a country banned by Binance and Coinbase due to US sanctions and do not have an account on either of these exchanges so I do not have the option of sending a Bitcoin lightning transaction from an Electrum wallet.

Yesterday I had to withdraw an amount of about $100 from my Electrum wallet to one of the central exchanges that does not support lightning and I had to pay a $10 fee, but I preferred to reduce the fee to $6 and wait more than 12 hours until the transaction arrived. This is madness .
538  Local / العربية (Arabic) / Re: مزيج Sinbad Crypto تم حجزه on: December 04, 2023, 01:58:57 AM

539  Other / Meta / Re: Was the forum better before without Merit or is it better now with Merit? on: December 03, 2023, 09:58:21 AM
For me, I find the forum after activating the merit system much better than it was before the merit system was in place. Merit distinguishes between good members who provide benefit to the forum and others who spread spam.

In general, the merit that a member obtains is an indicator of the quality of posts and the positive, constructive activity of members in the forum. Activity alone is not enough.

Of course, there is no perfect system. There must be some defects, but I find that the benefits that the forum obtains are much greater than the defects that may exist in this system.
540  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will you sell your bitcoin to blackrock? on: December 03, 2023, 09:14:28 AM
I do not expect that you will find a single answer to this question, because the answer to this question varies depending on the nature of people. Some of them will sell immediately because they think the price is high or that it is suitable for them, while others will hold on to Bitcoin more and wait for the price to rise more and more.

For me, I set a clear target for the price of Bitcoin. If the price reaches the target, I will sell and I will not be greedy because it may fall later and I will regret missing the opportunity. However, if I think the price may rise more, I will sell half the quantity and hold the other half.
