My wallet shows zero balance:
http://take.ms/s5K5F
How to fix it?

A) (Easiest option) wait a few days until version 1.4 gets released, which (hopefully) fixes this problem.
B) Wait until you stake, which should (maybe) update the display.
C) (Fastest option) Come to Slack (optional) and let us explain to you how to start the wallet with the -rescan parameter.

Hmm I wonder if the people who buy or sell at 1 sat are not aware of the LTC market...  Cheesy

https://novaexchange.com/market/LTC_ESP2/

176 Litoshi is currently 2 sat. 88 Litoshi would be 1 sat. And there are also sell orders at 200 litoshi, which is 2.27 sat (notably less than 3 sat).

The formula to convert things is: 1 LTC = 0.01135060 BTC, so

litoshi * 0.01135060 = satoshi

and

litoshi = satoshi / 0.01135060.  Wink

Just saying because trading between 1-2 sat is pretty annoying because the spread is 100%. Roll Eyes  Would be cool if we had more volume in the LTC market.

I don't want to spread the FUD but why there is no mention about Gandalf86? When I was a bit active in this topic i remember that Gandalf86 was super active and super helpful for all the people..

Yeah he was super active and still around to help.So he can have a post of community manager if he wishes to be  Wink Wink

Hehe thanks guys. Cheesy I'm always active here, and I also often have given ideas or feedback to Cryptocoderz. But I have always only been a community member, not the one who makes decisions. And I also often have been critical about things that I didn't like. Recently, the core team made their own Slack to discuss things on their own, and to be free of distractions. That's totally their right. Monoxide told me that they want to communicate with us (the community) more often in the future. Let's hope for the best!  Wink

Oh and I'm not "managing" anything and don't want to. I'm an investor (and supporter) in other coins as well, and don't want to tie myself to one specific project. Everybody here should have their own voice and opinion, and ideas should be listened to equally, regardless of who expresses them.

is there a staking calculator somewhere ?

and can someone explain how I stake the coins? Do I just transfer them to the wallet and leave the wallet running and it will stake automatically?
You can start here:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1704473.msg19825480#msg19825480

Also ask in Slack.

Asking in Slack is always a good idea!  Wink

Additionally, the same question was asked (and answered by me) here on Reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/XSPEC/comments/74td3n/staking_calculator/

Wallet: Optimal settings for Staking

To divide, in 10 directions, the total funds in our wallet,
is the number of addresses with the best results when staking.

This conclusion is obtained after testing for two months, with two PCs,
one with Windows 7 and other with Windows 10.

At the beginning you notice a very big difference,
without dividing it can take two months to regularize the flow, of staking funds.
But with funds divided into 10 addresses, the initial momentum is very short,
and may take approximately one week to regularize the flow, of staking funds.

A practical way to do these tests is to create another user on the same device,
so that you have more than one functional wallet on the same device. This is the key.

It is always convenient to divide in 10 or more addresses, the funds that are in a single address,
for reasons of Staking, for reasons of Privacy and for reasons of Availability.

(Special cases ask in Slack. Channel: #staking)

I call BS on this. That's not how it works. The reward you get is relative to your total balance, when X is the staking ratio (5% per year), and Y and Z are balances, then X*(Y+Z) = X*Y + X*Z, so it shouldn't make a difference, except when smaller balances would systematically get a higher % per year than bigger balances (which may be the case for some coins, but not Spectre).

Oh and there is no public channel called #staking in the Spectrecoin Slack. Roll Eyes

Sure we'll do this, thanks for the support! We are working on the updates of Espers PoW/PoS system, building a new team and we are going to start a new marketing campaign also. Stay tuned, more things to come!

Could you explain a little bit what kind of "new team" you mean? What happened to the old team?
530  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: How much would you guys be willing to pay a month for a solid buy-alert tool? on: October 06, 2017, 02:49:19 AM
If there was to be a tool that would alert you when a coin is undervalued with mathematically sound algorithms, how much would you guys be willing to pay a month?

Let us take it as a given that it actually works, not some volume ping like Cryptoping or whatever.

Given that my perception of what is being "undervalued" is often fundamentally different from the opinion of other people, I would pay nothing for it and rather make my own decisions. Wink

I think they said that they are planning to integrate all kinds of anon stuff. And then I asked myself whether mixing up those technologies even makes sense or whether that is just done and used as an advertisement slogan. Anonymity has to make sense mathematically, and that's the point where I doubt that they really tried to figure out what the best solution is for the purpose they are trying to pursue.

Could you give more details about which "all kinds of anon stuff" you mean? This project combines 2 technologies, Tor and Ring signatures. Nothing more. OBFS4 is an obfuscator to hide the Tor traffic in countries (or corporate networks) which are blocking Tor. The mid-term plan is to migrate to using ring signatures by default and using RS tokens for PoS.

Nice to see more activity in here.

Yes, we had a meetings over the weekend and solved went thru some ideas and plans.
Announcements are coming, but I can't promise any timeframe at the moment.

We have heard about some group is going to fork Espers and take it to their own direction.
Good luck to them. We still work on Espers.

There have been some people asking about ESP, ESP2 and yoshit, excuse my french, Yobit.

In our eyes yobit is nothing but scam and esp in there is from dead chain. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THERE!

ESP2 in novaexchange is correct one Also coingather and coinexchange are with correct chain.

Thank you on behalf of the team for all your support!

If some one still mining ESP in dead chain, this will keep going like ETC and ETH or this is real blocked?

Legit question. Theoretically, yes. ESP version 1 had a much bigger supply and no PoS iirc. There's really no reason to mine it, but if people do, it could still be used to make payments. There's no future in it though, unlike ETC, because ESP 1 has no developer and thus is to be considered "abandoned" in favor of ESP2.
535  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]Spectrecoin[XSPEC] TOR+OBFS4, Ring Sig, Stealth! on: October 01, 2017, 04:37:23 PM
My question is about the OBSF4: is it something that any coin can implement or is it technology containing completely unique code/implementation that would be difficult to copy if tried? Or is it something a lot of coins can do, and it's a matter of time and dedication before others do so? Or, some other combination of things? I'm sure it's more complex than my question suggests.

No it is not very difficult to implement, I expect other projects to add this too, soon. You can use Tor with OBFS4 (https://www.torproject.org/docs/pluggable-transports#user) and it's already implemented, so the only complexity depends on how tightly it is integrated into your wallet. It is certainly not Spectrecoin's most unique feature.

I read in the Spectrecoin wiki that Monero ' s wallet is less buggy tthan Spectre's. Has the gap closed somewhat? I know Cloak has great code too. Oh, and the new wallet is coming soon right. And a new site if I'm not mistaken?

I don't know more about Cloak than what is in the wiki (which was mostly written by me), but a new wallet version will come out for Spectre this month which will make things much more stable, hopefully!  Wink

I am forcus my eyes on this project now.
Finally find an altcoin with tor.

But  what's the relationship of XSPEC and NASA?

NASA is a project of the US government, Spectre is not. Both will go to the moon. There are no other similarities for what I know.
537  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]Spectrecoin[XSPEC] TOR+OBFS4, Ring Sig, Stealth! on: September 30, 2017, 01:55:48 PM
What do you mean by exchange XSPEC to cash via mobile phone?
i can understand the XSPEC part, but what is the cash part ? how will it work?

You can find some more info here: http://coinwiki.info/en/SpectreCoin (but not much, I will add more info as time continues).

Generally, from what I understood, the app will be similar to Localbitcoins, but decentralized. You can find someone who wants to sell (or buy) coins and has a certain trust level (via a web-of-trust system). Then you meet with him and exchange cash to XSPEC locally. Because both cash and stealth transactions are anonymous, nobody will know that these two people have ever interacted. The idea of this is to avoid the problem of having to register at an exchange in order to become part of the Spectre network, so that it will become a self-supporting and completely decentralized ecosystem.
538  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]Spectrecoin[XSPEC] TOR+OBFS4, Ring Sig, Stealth! on: September 29, 2017, 01:46:42 PM
But what is the reason for mixing up all those anonymity technologies? I mean, did you thoroughly think about it and then came to the conclusion that that is the superior anon solution? Or are you just going to do it for fun?

First off, I didn't found this project Wink I'm not exactly sure how mandica came to the idea of doing it this way. I think that doing ring signatures via Tor is a good way to make an anonymous currency, and then again, the actual goal of this project is to have a decentralized system to exchange XSPEC to cash via mobile phones with other people. There needs to be some foundation for that, they could have chosen to base it on Monero or something different, but maybe they found that it's too complicated and too big for this purpose, so they based it on ShadowCash instead. Tor+Ring sigs are a very sleek solution that combines network privacy with transaction privacy. So it does the job well. You could maybe argue whether this is the "best" solution, I don't know. But I don't see anything wrong with it, either.
539  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ⚡[ANN]⚡ ▐░Espers [ESP]░▌▐░PoW/PoS░▌▐░HMQ1725 Algo░▌ ▐░New Features░▌ on: September 25, 2017, 04:14:17 PM
By the way, the network is still operating fine. You can make transactions which are fully secured, you can stake (if you don't mind the infrequent payouts) and receive 25% per year. Technically there is no reason to rush with this.
540  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ⚡[ANN]⚡ ▐░Espers [ESP]░▌▐░PoW/PoS░▌▐░HMQ1725 Algo░▌ ▐░New Features░▌ on: September 25, 2017, 08:14:58 AM
But help has been offered DOZENS of times and it just falls on deaf ears. You know this... (this isn't an attack on you, I respect you).

It seems the only person who is allowed to work on the project on Cryptocoderz, am no one is even sure if he's doing anything. Where's the proof?

The point is that anybody could work on the project! Wink It's open source. You can take the code right now, edit it, fix the problems. Then you can make a merge request. If it doesn't get merged, you have a fork, which can be announced to the community. The problem is that it's difficult stuff and few people are able to actually do that.

So until someone else fixes the problem, you have to wait until Cryptocoderz fixes it. Just talking and complaining does not solve any problems.

Sure, if Cryptocoderz would talk more that would help. In one tweet, he said that he "has no excuses", which usually means to me that he is too ashamed to talk about the true reasons. Whatever causes the problems. Just hoping the best for him.
