Let's speak about WoW gold or EVE isk
I can sell 500millions of isk for like 2BTC or for like 10$ or more. Yes it is a bit against the eula and the EVE rules but not against any law.
So when i run some missions ingame and i gain isk do i have to pay real taxes on them?
Well i say that the answer also apply for bitcoin. If i mine bitcoin i pay no taxes, i'll pay taxes the day i'll sell them/i buy something with them (even if buying things with btc can be tought like barter, well barter is taxed)
The Government always wants a slice. Pro Tip: Do NOT try to f%#& the government out of their (fair or unfair) share. Like a violent pimp, they do not mess around when it comes to getting paid.

i think if i did get myself one, the first thing i print (apart from the customary test shotglass) would be the chocolate nozzle... and then bring chocolate bitcoins to sell
---
OP, where in the world are you?
He's laughing all the way to the bank with his chocolate bitcions! lol, well its not like i was going to run out today and get a 3d printer to start doing it, its an idea and OP can use it, doesn't stop me from doing it also down the track, chances are he's in a different part of the world and would have different chocolate/customers anyway... besides, the chocolate bitcoins is only part of the plan :p Let's fill them with mayonnaise...
|
|
|
Well that is possible.
It's the first thing people cry when a site has it's bitcoins hacked and leaves the customers hanging. I don't see why no one has brought it up in this case. I must be missing some obvious fact here.

Can someone explain why this would not be possibe?:
Guy starts company Guy sells company Guy "hacks" said company and takes all the BTC Guy announces he is leaving the scene soon after, claims his departure is not related to the hack.
I don't know Zhoutong or every fine detail of the full sorry, but from what I could skim over, this was a con worthy of an Oceans sequel.

when i first saw them i was excited to what they will bring in the future, i want to see the day when every house has one of these built in to the wall, i would also like to see one that can recycle the materials (print something, use it, finish with it, throw it into the printers recycling tub and it gets grinded and reused... or something)
Pft, you have no imagination. The best use for these is CLEARLY to make custom pizzas on the fly

Definitely interested, but I need (want) ALL the technical specs of this beast Size/Dimension limits, materials, color, one piece or multiple part objects? Also what kind of 3D file format would I need to submit? Any estimate in the price?

Kinda frustrating to respond to people when they make shit up about what you say...
At what point did I say "throwing free bitcoins at them", because I distinctly recall saying "if they pay your lunch tab".
Sorry, wasn't paying attention, skimmed over that bit as this whole thing went from awesome to huge flop. Should've said that I sound crazy trying to explain bitcoin to people, get the same looks you'd give to an insurance salesman. Perhaps Mr.Falkvinge was right, it's just not time for mainstream adoption.

The best idea to promote bitcoin is for people to use the currency and extend the network effect of Bitcoin. How many people have you asked to hold bitcoin while they pay some debt for you? Going out to lunch with a co worker? need something interesting to talk about? it takes 30 seconds to setup a wallet, offer to give them $5-10 in Bitcoin for if they pay your lunch tab. Now they have bitcoin. encourage them to do the same to one of their friends. you tell two friends, they tell two friends, etc.. we could make bitcoin ubiquitous and skyrocket in a month if we all just did this.
Trying to explain BitCoin to someone while throwing free bitcoins at them is futile. You sound like a crazy person, and they do not value something they get for free. But if they start seeing this "bitcion" everywhere, the get curious and pursue it of their own free will. It becomes their own "discovery" and their own undertaking. Guess it's a waste of time either way

I honestly thought this forum would be all over this idea. I mean, what better way to draw interest, investors, and attention to BitCoin? Everyone is up in arms over the stagnant BTC price, but when it come to getting people off of the computer and doing something proactive, suddenly no one cares.

Repost from hereI got this idea from a contest a local radio station had a few years ago. We (a mod) start a wallet into which anyone (who wants to promote bitcoin) can contribute a however many BTC they can. This huge pool of BitCoins will be the prize and incentive for people to participate. In order to win, you have to spread the word about BitCoin int the most spectacular way you possibly know how. Streak with bodypaint, write a viral song, give out free pancakes with the BTC logo, whatever stunning and creative way you can think of, then post a video or any other form of proof you think will suffice. Bonus points if local media picks it up The ever growing pot of BTCs will encourage people to pull off ever grander schemes, and community then votes on the most impressive entry. This would be a great and cost effective way to get BitCoin into the spotlight and get the whole community involved PS: I got dibs on flying a giant UFO shaped BitCoin blimp EDIT: There are no "dibs" on anything here, if you copy someone's idea, but you get more exposure, then that's just that much better for bitcoin. The community decides the winner anyway.

*bump* That's a very good price for a 2GB card. I'd buy it myself but I'm in Canada

You now leave me no choice but to let the proverbial cat out of the bag. Introducing the next big thing:
You spelled "BitCoin Mascot" wrong Also, you can throw it at people and through windows to spread the word! Brilliant!

This Trend Graph is based on the market prices for each month, projected out until march 2013. I find it odd that most of the values on that chart are below the projection line.
