541  Economy / Economics / Re: Anyone here part of "1 million club"? on: November 23, 2015, 06:00:20 PM
Im group of "1million club" at year 2050
i hope it  Cheesy

1million club is not easy, if we are born as ordinary people

Exactly its never gonna easy to have 1million BTC in wallet, if you are only dependent on signature campaigns, and yes we would try our best to be a part of it, but its gonna be a long way to be there, to have 1 Million BTC in your wallet I think gambling is the only option which can take us to that level but it totally depends on luck and to win 1 million I think you should have a good amount of BTC to invest.

Mmm you guys need to check your math. OP is talking about 21 BTC, not 1 million BTC.. no one has 1 million BTC besides Satoshi I think.
If you have 21 BTC you are part of the 1 million club because only 1 million people can ever own 21 BTC thats what op is talking about, not 1 million BTC or USD..
542  Economy / Economics / Re: How much Coca Cola can you buy with 1 Bitcoin in your country? on: November 23, 2015, 05:58:38 PM
I am in Japan so it's about 1 dollar per 0.33l can or bottle so about 325 cans of 0.33l which give us a total result of around 107 liters of coke. That is way too much coke, my stomach hurt just from thinking about drinking that much. I haven't drank coke in a lot of years, only very sporadically when I go to eat a burger (if you are going to eat fast food then why not add a coke).
543  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Suggestion: Button that check/uncheck "send this transaction anonymously" on: November 23, 2015, 05:50:40 PM
Automating the whole process of the CoinJoin thing in Bitcoin would change the fundamental nature of what Bitcoin is. New code would need writing which decides which coins get mixed with other coins. That code could make Bitcoin illegal in some jurisdictions, either now or in the future. Currently third part mixer services provide mixing functionality for those that want it, and it may be better to leave it to third parties to avoid legal issues.

Mixing services aren't a solution, they are centralized and they keep logs, plus it's annoying as it gets to have to send your funds somewhere, then get them back, then buy or pay whatever. It should be just a single click like a regular transaction, otherwise it's a waste of time. Also the interests of governments will eventually collide with Bitcoin's... governments will abolish cash in the next decades, I don't think they are going to like the fact that an alternative economy is possible outside their closed source electronic super controlled money nightmare, so you might as well go to the end and give everyone maximum anonymity as possible before it's too late. Of course the possibility to do transparent transactions must still be there because it has it's uses (for example managing money of an organization where the funds are shared, so this way you avoid corruption).
544  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Storing money on Smartphone is far more secure than desktop or laptop on: November 23, 2015, 05:45:54 PM
This is nonsense. You have way more chances of losing your phone as in physically losing it because of a mistake, than getting your Bitcoin hacked on a desktop given that you are taking some really basic security measures. Just download anything strange and don't visit strange webpages and that's all.
545  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: This is a watershed moment in bitcoin history on: November 23, 2015, 05:20:23 PM
There are way more chances of us hitting 1 million dollars per coin than we have seeing Bitcoin go to 0. I would say around 80% of it going to 1MM vs 20% of it going to 0. The fact that governments may or not ban it is irrelevant... we have seen this all before. If they dont ban it then we reach mainstream status, if they ban it Bitcoin becomes an underground worldwide hit, both scenarios would make current holders rich as hell.
546  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BITCOIN IS BETTER THAN WESTERN UNION ? on: November 23, 2015, 05:18:01 PM
The fact that WU still is a leading brand out there shows how much marketing and exposure matters. If people were aware on Bitcoin absolutely no one would use WU to make international transactions, it's just a matter of comparing fees and you will see how much of a scam using WU is.
547  Economy / Economics / Re: Investing Bitcoins? on: November 23, 2015, 05:10:53 PM
How are you doing in BTCJam? I want to get involved in delivering loans to people so I put some of my Bitcoin stack in movement but im not sure about BTCJam since i've heard way too many people getting scammed even by A+ certified borrowers.
548  Other / Off-topic / Re: Are you buying bitcoins? Why? on: November 23, 2015, 05:09:00 PM
The first reason to buy Bitcoin is because you believe it's going to be big in the future, I don't understand Bitcoin if it's not for the long term. Of course you can use it for daily stuff but right now there aren't many reasons for the people in the first world except on certain situations, but in the future it will be huge when the goverment annihilates cash.
549  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: where you get bitcoin news every day ? on: November 23, 2015, 05:06:49 PM
I think reddit is still the best way to go. You get the news and then a lot of interesting comments. It's really easy to get what happened during a period of time you stop paying attention to Bitcoin for a while (sometimes I do this because I need a short vacation due stress of reading way too much stuff).
550  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do girls use Bitcoin ? on: November 19, 2015, 12:35:05 AM
You just can't expect them to use since most don't really know it even exist. It will take some more years until we make Bitcoin more user friendly and appealing not only to girls but the common folk. I think using Bitcoin will look very different in 5 to 10 years, the addresses system is somewhat a bit odd to the outsiders. Having to generate new strings of weird characters each time to get money is not very intuitive.
551  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin people – We can stop future attacks on Paris France, Russia and Syria ? on: November 18, 2015, 11:51:36 PM
If we improve Bitcoin anonymity, maybe we could have current Bitcoin whales to privately put bounties on terrorists. If they can do it anonymously, I think they would be more prone to do this, because if they do it with their real names they would get on deep trouble. Right now it wouldn't be a good idea to do this if you were a Bitcoin whale unless you really have the balls to be on the spotlight.
552  Economy / Economics / Re: Anyone here part of "1 million club"? on: November 18, 2015, 11:48:15 PM
And what do you call the person who has 210? the hundred thousand club?  Huh

I think you would be part of the 210,000 group. Satoshi is part of the 21 group, because as far as I remember, he was the only person to own 1 million Bitcoin, which is pretty insane. But who knew Bitcoin would reach any value, back then you were insane to think it would reach 1 dollar, let alone 1k+.
553  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why in some countries Bitcoin is banned on: November 18, 2015, 11:43:26 PM
In Canada and America, we are greatly facilitated in using bitcoin,
unlike china, they banned bitcoin

China has not banned bitcoin. Please check your facts!

And the image below is cool but I'm skeptical that Iceland is "hostile" toward bitcoin, especially since there's a ton of mining going on out there.

Im not sure how many years we can keep that map looking that green. Our interests will eventually collide. You can keep pretending that Bitcoin and banks can coexist but I think eventually there will be a conflict of interests and either we make a tradeoff or they will have to, then we'll see what's really up. To get up to that point it may take a lot of years tho.
554  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Locked out of Bitcoin Wallet on: November 18, 2015, 11:34:40 PM
Is there anyway to get back the bitcoins in a locked wallet if I have the file? Someone please help!

What you mean locked, encrypted? Is it a core wallet? (wallet.dat)?

Well in that case, im afraid you are out of luck. The only way to access it, you would need to know the password, there's no other way around it. Even if the passworld was weak, I don't think bruteforcing is a viable option.
555  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin's Fate In 2140 on: November 18, 2015, 11:33:22 PM
That's the same as asking someone in 1890 (before the car was even invented, and only 11 years after we figured out how to turn on a lightbulb with electricity) what the world would be like in 2015.

It's extremely hard to predict. There are some scientists that predict singularity reached actually a lot of years before we reach that, meaning that IA will be as intelligent as us or more... im not sure about this, but in case this happened, I wonder what the repercussion would be. Would a super IA more intelligent than us be able to create a "better Bitcoin?"
556  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Apple CEO Tim Cook: “Your kids will not know what money is” on: November 18, 2015, 11:27:29 PM
What Tim Cook means is that there will be little use of physical currency in the future. We will only use digital currency in the future. Bitcoin is the best digital currency, so if it is used widely, Applepay will integrate it.

apple wont integrate anything. they are known to try to always make a new standard and let their customers feel elitist.

imho: google, paypal and wu may integrate bitcoin.... but apple? no ;-)

I think apple has absolutely no business in trying to come up with their own currency.. I don't see them becoming pro-Bitcoin given their strong centralized and closed source policy, so what I think that will happen is they will simply try to compete against Paypal using the goverment's electronic fiat.
557  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Suggestion: Button that check/uncheck "send this transaction anonymously" on: November 18, 2015, 11:24:16 PM
P2P cash isn't a synonym for anonymous cash. You can remain anonymous or avoid being traced/having your multiple identities connected if you use Bitcoin correctly. I think anonymity is a good feature and the pseudo anonymous nature of Bitcoin is the best of both worlds, in my opinion. Bitcoins has its usefulness in being able to trace funds to known addresses too... Smiley

Then what does p2p mean to you? To me it means exactly that... peer to peer + cash, in other words, the features of a peer to peer network with the features of cash, which as gmaxwell said include not being able to trace funds and fungibility, something that Bitcoin lacks right now. Lets hope that good work keeps being made in this direction. I cant wait for the confidential transactions.. I just dont like the idea of people knowing what kind of money you move, or if you want to receive donations for your code, art, or whatever, people shouldn't know what amount of donations you are getting. This seems pretty basic to me.
558  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: In which countries bitcon success the most ? on: November 18, 2015, 11:20:48 PM
China is mostly mining. I think actual usage.. im not sure. Probably Argentina, where their local currency is going down the shiter and people are finding in Bitcoin a good way to stay away from the goverment. This will go worldwide as fiats starts crumbling one after another.
559  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you Have a Bitcoin Inheritance Plan in Place? (free how-to guide included) on: November 18, 2015, 11:16:47 PM
Mmm.. im on my early 30's.. honestly I don't think about this sort of thing right now. I hope I don't have to think about it in a lot of years. I hope that I can be very wealthy in 10-15 years and enjoy the wealth myself. No one knows I own Bitcoin, I don't have many, but they could be very valuable in that time. I don't think my parents and family would know how to use it anyway.
560  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: CryptocurrencyCentralBank to request halt of Bitcoin Group ASX December IPO on: November 17, 2015, 03:37:20 PM
how can they be operating mining equipment legally in China when Bitcoin is banned, we need to  request this equipment be moved back to Australia

I am under this impression that (you can call me conspiracy nutjob if you want) the goverment is financing those huge mines we see on documentaries and the workers are all paid by the goverment too, and meanwhile they want to stop the population from learning about Bitcoin and using it. I think they want it all for themselves and hold them because they aren't dumb and see the huge potential long term.
