1541  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 8,400 bitcoin on: April 10, 2015, 11:49:48 AM
It's only worth that much for you if you haven't gotten into the game back in 2010 or 2011! I always imagine the early adopters still considering their amount to be wort a couple hundred USD or something....

If you had 5000k BTC in late 2012 and early 2013 when the price went up, would you sell?
It's impossible to know when is the right moment to sell, but I would have sold at 1k because its a nice psychological barrier.
1542  Economy / Speculation / Re: [prediction] Next spike $560,000 14 months from now on: April 09, 2015, 11:16:54 PM
14 months from now, mean 27 november 2015, few days before the doge era(was born in 9 december 2013)

maybe another "doge era" this year too? it would made this joke a real thing
I like all the dates and stuff stacking up as they have real relations with each other... but dont think so. Even tho the prediction doesnt seem far fetched, we'll see.
1543  Economy / Economics / Re: Financial Pollution on: April 09, 2015, 10:58:30 PM
For me the alternative currency subforum on this board is the definition of financial pollution: scammers and shitty products on a daily basis polluting the cryptocurrency term. Thank god the trend is dying now and it seems we'll get to see what the actually quality ones survive.
1544  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: SARUTOBI Returns!! on: April 09, 2015, 10:34:12 PM
I never stopped playing it, it's been fine the whole time. only pays out about 50 bits and takes forever to get enough points, but i always found it amusing for a few minutes. I think it's the music.
anyway, google only removed it because it was confusing. you had to collect black bitcoins (actual coins floating in the sky) and get enough to cash in for a reward, usually a few bits, but more depending on how much is in the pot. you also collected gold bitcoins in the same manner, these only have in-game value. People would see their score and think they were supposed to get that many btc, like, its easy to get 100s of them.

now you trade in collected btc for satoshis and collect bananas.
Interesting. This is the first time I've heard about the game.
Well then it's actually good when you need to kill some time. You get to have some fun and earn some bits in the process. Who knows, maybe those bits will be worth a lot more in the future.
I don't get why apple would cancel said game? Small amounts of bitcoins are literally perfect for addictive games. Imagine getting paid to beat flappy birds records. There is a big business there to be made.
1545  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mandatory Bitcoin purchasing, to be performed by each state on: April 09, 2015, 10:32:46 PM
I propose a purchasing agreement, which mandates every state in the World to buy a certain amount of Bitcoin every year. The amount will be coupled to the country's respective GDP and could be something along the lines of 0.001%-0.01% of it. The states have to hold on to their purchased coins for a given amount of time until they can invest them again.

Which other rules and what conditions and timeframes for selling off the coins do you suggest should be implemented?
This would be like having a coordinated pump group divided by countries. Pretty far fetched in my opinion, it's already enough to coordinate small amounts of people.
1546  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin To Transform Argentina on: April 09, 2015, 10:30:57 PM
Although the bitcoin community in Argentina is not as large as some of the other communities like USA or China, but still for a much smaller perspective, bitcoin have really grown up in there. There are almost 100 services that allows BTC in Buenos Aires. So that's a positive start, and with their economic potential, Bitcoin market will continue to expand at a very rapid pace in Argentina, no doubt.

Argentina is a perfect spot with all the variables to benefit from BTC: A past of bank bailouts and shitty goverments, and a future that looks like its going to repeat itself.
1547  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: 21 million not never !!! on: April 07, 2015, 03:07:51 PM
how many of currently mined bitcoins are lost forever?
It's impossible to know with certainty the number of lost coins... but assuming tons of coins were lost specially at the beginning when it was worthless and wallets with thousands of coins got lost... well a lot of it. Who knows, maybe by 2140 when everything is mined, 50% of coins already got lost forever.
1548  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Stocks with bitcoin on: April 07, 2015, 03:06:18 PM
In the future every single trading website (crypto or stock based) will allow for withdrawal and deposits of BTC alike, no doubt about this. They will have to accept it and get with the program.
1549  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Hitler vs. Stalin on: April 07, 2015, 03:02:40 PM
They are both evil extremists... the worst that humanity has to offer. So a contest at being evil and winning at it it's not something worth celebrating.
1550  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Is Open Bazaar up and running ? on: April 07, 2015, 02:56:36 PM
anyone been using it yet,
As far as I know is still not finished and still under development... i'll wait until someone else tries it, don't wanna risk it since I haven't got much btc to play with.
1551  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Losses on: April 07, 2015, 02:55:08 PM
Discuss how much you have lost and how.

I lost about 0.2 back in the day when I still invested in alts.. namely with Mazacoin, I bought at the god damn top and haven't bothered buying alts again.
1552  Economy / Economics / Re: Yuan to Be the World’s 5th Reserve Currency? on: April 06, 2015, 06:34:57 PM
Vast sums worldwide are still held as dollar denominated assets that can't easily be moved to other currencies crypto or not without creating massive disruption. We will get there but it will take time.
1553  Economy / Economics / Re: Seller Adoption Fail on: April 06, 2015, 06:32:17 PM
Just found a site that lists "all" of the places accepting BTC.

Sad.

The laws of economics have sentenced BTC to market death.

-----------------------------------------------------

9,923

How many accept through services that immediately convert to another currency?

Just found a site that lists "all" of the times Bitcoin has been sentenced to death.

Sad.

The laws of economics have sentenced this thread as another FUD.
1554  Other / Archival / Re: BTC Second Worst Hyperinflation For 2014 on: April 06, 2015, 06:29:15 PM
Bitcoin is simply a better implementation of the gold standard than gold itself was. It implements the same 6 key properties of money as gold, and is even better on some (such as scarcity).

Bitcoin's success will demonstrate that the gold standard was right, and that gold was the best version of money given the technology available at the time.
1555  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if Pacquiao boxing gloves have Bitcoin Logo? on: April 06, 2015, 06:26:27 PM
If Pacquiao sponsorised btc and he lost against Mayweather it would suck lol.
Unfortunately Mayweather is going to win... he's going to dodge his shit for the first rounds then later on Mayweather will exploit Manny's mistakes until round 12.
1556  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who is this guy? on: April 06, 2015, 06:25:10 PM
Well, I watched the short promo clip on Youtube. Then I noticed something next to the title.
Bitcoin Documentary: Project Announcement: #theBITmovie
507 views 4 months ago

In 4 months, this clip only got 507 views. And probably most of them were from people reading this post today. I'm guessing this thing is going to be a bust.
Yeah, you guys should work harder on promoting and marketing before releasing the movie so you can get more views.
1557  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Silk Road is a Blessing in Disguise on: April 06, 2015, 06:23:29 PM
Im not into any kind of ilegal drugs, but I guess Silk Road gave a lot of publicity to Bitcoin, I started because of the first Silk Road news. All publicity is good publicity after all.
1558  Economy / Speculation / Re: Humans aren't rational. Bitcoin won't be a % of world economy, but a multiple. on: April 05, 2015, 12:50:41 PM
Bitcoin will replace the gold standard eventually, since it's objectively speaking the best thing to base currency at. Gold is deprecated and makes no sense on a post internet digital world.
1559  Economy / Economics / Re: Difference between money(BTC) and currency(USD) on: April 05, 2015, 12:47:11 PM
Bitcoin has been declared dead over 50 times by the mainstream media, yet it has shown to be a great store of value if volatile. It is volatile while growing in relative value; upwardly volatile. Paper currencies, like the dollar, have shown volatility on a downward spiral over time. Just something you should think about.

Yeah Bitcoin has died countless times by now. This site is hilarious and keeps getting updated almost on a daily basis

1560  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Blocks never stop generating? on: April 05, 2015, 12:42:21 PM
blocks never stop generating, but the reward is decreasing over time & someday miners will get 0BTC reward
What will be the incentive for miners to keep mining to keep processing the transactions then? can the fees be enough to keep the whole thing moving? considering now the low price was a problem, what would happen by 2140? even if the price is 100 million dollars per BTC, if all its mined so what?
