1421  Economy / Economics / Re: If Greece defaults on: May 04, 2015, 11:27:08 AM
I doubt Greece will default, that would bring the entire country to an immediate halt, which is not the most practical decision, and the fact that BTC can replace it is even more preposterous, no doubt severe systematic changes may occur, other eu countries are still strong ,i'm sure they will be able to weather this storm, but with a great deal of economic changes will ensue.

Default seems like the only way out, they are trapped in a street without exit, they either default or get fucked by Merkel which would lead to eventual default as people riot on a daily basis due unviable measures.
1422  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin actually ready to go mainstream? on: May 04, 2015, 11:23:40 AM
Bitcoin isn't ready at all
First of all, who would wait 10 minutes for a confirmation
Second, who would use bitcoin if the bitcoin still very volatile

Other than those, i think there aren't any problem

I would wait 10 mins rather than a day for international transfer.

cash is still faster though, you need to wait like 10 seconds to take them out of your pockets, and small shops need to wait for confirmations they can't accept pending deposit

Bitcoin will be as fast as cash. What time does it take to get a QR code scanned? because thats basically it to pay with a smartphone.
1423  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Gavin is an Agent on: May 04, 2015, 11:21:38 AM
Seems like a pretty far fetched theory, worth of infowars.com, still entertain food for thought. I think the theory of him being satoshi is far more feasible tho.
1424  Economy / Speculation / Re: Importance of HD wallets on adresses used. on: May 02, 2015, 02:48:29 PM
HD wallets do not really have much of an effect on the received address count as most people will reuse the same address. It's the outgoing transactions that will get a new change address each time but none-HD wallets do that anyway.

I think your misunderstanding HD wallets.
Honestly I still don't get it myself.

What I would like is to have an address to receive payments (for example, from a job, signature campaign, whatever) that generates new addresses automatically so it's more private. I don't know if this makes sense. Like, giving away a fixed address, but once people pay to that address, i get the coins in through new addresses so it doesn't show up on the blockchain the address i gave publicly. Hope this makes any sense.
1425  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to Use bitcoing to transfer $ to Friend in Nepal? on: May 02, 2015, 02:45:20 PM
If your friend has a regular phone with access to SMS, there are technologies that are going to deliver for blockchain operations with simple SMS messages, you didn't tell us about it tho, he would then be able to do the conversion to any other currency himself.
1426  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: how to get started on: May 02, 2015, 02:43:34 PM
I will like to get help about bitcoin, am a total beginner without cash to invest. A fellow advice me to start bitcoin by opening wallet with Xapo, then collect free satoshi from bitcoin faucets and also bitcoin ptc like coinad.com then use the satoshi to invest in bitcoin hyip like earntomorrow.com or bitcoin pool.
I want to know if this is a good way to begin for beginner without money. Is there a better option?

Why not get a job and save some money then buy BTC?  When you get 1000 USD worth, you can trade them back and forth for altcoins to accumulate more BTC.  Trading crypto is really fun because you can move them from one exchange to another so easy.  But expect some losses from time to time, it's like gambling.  But you can try to minimize losses and your risk by managing your bankroll well, and you can maximize your profit in the process.
This seems like the best way to go. If you get a job and ideally live with your parents, you can do really risky stuff with your wage, as long as you don't have to pay for expenses you could go as far as going 100% in with BTC then playing with alts.
1427  Economy / Speculation / Re: Are you bullish or bearish right now? on: May 02, 2015, 02:41:00 PM
i was quite bullish but i am seeing a short term decline and believe it will be initiated very soon. so currently you can say i am bearish. next few months will be different for sure with block halving comming.

Yeah now all is waiting next block comming and see what happen. Price up or still stable like now because many manupulation price on market Sad
Judging by the impact of halvings of other coins it never had a relevant effect on the price, even tho Bitcoin is not comparable to any alt because its the original coin, it may indeed serve as a bull presure when the day comes, in any case i have the halving day marked in my calendar as an important day.
1428  Economy / Speculation / Re: I have USD 2000 to invest. Should I buy Bitcoins or gold? on: May 02, 2015, 02:39:54 PM
Gold is forever.

I have the feeling gold may be indeed forever, but it doesn't automatically mean Gold is #1 forever. BTC is much better in a lot of ways, we never know how society will evolve in the future and its perceptions towards what is and what isn't the standard for wealth.

1430  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Satanic Temple of Detroit now accepts BTC Donations on: May 02, 2015, 02:37:50 PM
If you think about it any publicity is good publicity. My first contact with Bitcoin was back in the day when it got on mainstream news thanks to it being liked to drug dealers and whatnot, through the dark net. As long as the Bitcoin name gets out there it will reach the intelligent people that gets involved into it beyond some headlines.

1432  Economy / Speculation / Re: How SOON will the BTC rally begin? on: May 01, 2015, 06:27:11 PM
Im not tempted to vote at this point since given past rallies, it has happened when least expected, there fore I cant tell. The thing tho is, we are for sure at the end of a burst cycle, which would lead to a bubble in the following months.
1433  Economy / Economics / Re: Best way to turn 2BTC into 4BTC on: May 01, 2015, 06:26:05 PM
Hey guys. I currently have a little over 2btc at my disposal. I was wondering what the safest and best way to flip that into 4btc, and the 4btc into 8btc, etc. I really want to save up for a powerful ASIC, and am stumped as to how to turn this into more. I've tried exchanges, but end up losing more than I gain. Im looking for a solid and sure way to make coin off of what I have currently. Thanks!

It depend how long you want to turn that, is fast or slow. If fast you can try your luck on gambling site like dice and sportsbook. I recommend sportsbook. And its more better for do something with your 2btc in real life than online here. Like try to be open a shop or sell some food or anything.

That gambling is the fastest way but its very risky to do that. What shop can you open with 2 btc? I dont think there are some kind of work that need only 2btc. I guess it will me 10btc or more to open 1 shop and with that may be profit will be much

Well nowadays you don't need much to start a internet business, basically a website and decent SEO, thats all the investment as you can make money with affiliate marketing.
Of course a physical shop will actually cost that 10btc+ investment.
1434  Economy / Economics / Re: Is bitcoin dead? on: May 01, 2015, 06:24:37 PM
No bitcoin is not dead. Its rising at a moment and so not to worry for next 10 years but i think it will decrease its value in near future as people will start adopting from different countries and as circulation is more it might loose its value in coming future.
If people start adopting it the price should elevate due mere mathematics, higher demand = more value. The price will not go that high yet because there are still enough BTC being generated. Once halving happens then its rocket time.
1435  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why do people hate? on: May 01, 2015, 06:21:15 PM
Only Cheap people hates as they don't have anything else to do, that's what you expect from them as you know them personally basically it is most common seen in uneducated community who will start hating people for very small reasons if educated this won't be the case.

To be technical, anger is associated with problems of the temperal lobe.  To blame hatred on education level is a good bit of stupidity.

Classic nurture vs nature argument. Both are important. People with a damaged temporal lobe or hormonal problem will hate no matter how much you teach them to behave. People with perfectly sane brains will hate if you give them shitty education.
1436  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: denationalisation of money on: May 01, 2015, 06:20:16 PM
The ultimate fate of humanity always brings is closer together to each other, the internet is a big demonstration of that. More and more cultures are merging with each other and becoming blurred. The next step will be doing the same, but with money.
1437  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My view on bitcoin on: May 01, 2015, 06:19:08 PM
Most bitcoiners want bitcoin to increase in value so bad, they will do anything it takes to make it go mainstream but don't really see where this is will lead us or even care at all how bitcoin will look like in the future.

I've known about bitcoin for very little time but from what i could gather here and there (correct me if i'm wrong), bitcoiners have been very enthousiast about bitcoin for many reasons one being that it is an alternative currency which is not manipulated by banks.

So when I see goldman sacks investing in bitcoin and everyone wetting their pants i am starting to think that we might have two differents crowds of bitcoiners, one that wants the currency to succeed and one that wants the value to rise but don't really care about the currency itself.

In my opinion people who wants the value to increase and wants rapid mainstream adoption will be responsible for bitcoin to never go mainstream, the blockchain will though, people will be transfering fiat between eachothers using the bitcoin blockchain or another one, but what is the point of having a blockchain in the background doing all the work and fiat on top of it? people will have no incentive to use the actual bitcoin, merchants will probably in the future have fiat denomination for their digital payment, and all transactions that were previously cash could be monitored by government with the help of bitcoin banks like coinbase and circle.

One of the awesome things about bitcoin is that it helps understand how money works in our current system, it raises very interesting questions, it educated people about what actually is money and also raises awarness about current manipulated fiat system.

By putting the blockchain in the background with fiat on top we will slowly remove all of these subjects from being discussed that are so important.

Bitcoin to me is not gold2.0 as some believes, gold is an asset bitcoin is an alternative currency.(my opinion)

The question i ask is why do all these people want bitcoin to go mainstream apart from the fact that they will earn money from that? if bitcoin is mainstream one day we will probably never hear about the word "bitcoin" anymore.

My post may sound a bit like i am some anarcho libertarian but I am absolutely not, i think government has a role in society but this role is not the issuance of money, bitcoin fascinates me because it is sound money and not controlled by anyone.

Even if bitcoin blockchain remains decentralized what is the point of having fiat going through it ?

Personnaly i think that's a good thing that we have many different crypto currencies, some very interesting open source projects of bitcoin ecosystem could very easily be rolled out on another crypto but i just think that bitcoin is not heading in the right direction because people do not give it the time to.

Bitcoin was meant to be an alternative currency not a new means of payment, we have that already it's called paypal and the version 2 of paypal is what bitcoin is slowly becoming.

The intrinsic beauty of BTC is that it is both an asset and a currency. It's somewhere you can use to store your wealth just like you do with Gold or whatever you use, and it's also a means of payment where tons of places will accept direct payment with it (unlike gold).
1438  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Goldman & Investors put $50 Million in Bitcoin Industry on: May 01, 2015, 06:17:24 PM
let's hope this isn't another useless news, where the price rise a little at first and then again it occurs another dump

anyway i would not use the word mainstream yet, we are far away from that...

No one with big agendas would benefit from a big price surge, they are not here to please the dumb idiots that cannot have a long term vision for Bitcoin, in fact they want to benefit from those weak hands while they mass cheap BTC.
1439  Economy / Speculation / Re: Stay away from bitcoin ! on: April 29, 2015, 05:21:37 PM
I suggest you all stay a way from bitcoin, Patrick Byrne The CEO of Overstock is going to be forced to resign for his stupid mistake of keeping some bitcoins from bitpay, The error caused the company over 80% losses in 2014 & 2015.
Tim draper is humiliated by being called "bitcoin loser" by his friends of the billions club. Fortunately he still has billions.
The Fortress Investment Group LLC and Pantera capital are also being called "shitcoin investors" because of their foolish 20$ millions bitcoin investment plan.

If you don't know yet, "bitcoin" is a negative word in the real world, do not talk about "bitcoin" in family/friends gathering, you will be isolated and treated as "online criminals and ponzi sellers" for this foolish behavior.
No one want to lose money or be connected with internet laundering money after all. Especially don't talk about it in work, you might even get fired.
Most(99+%) big amount bitcoin early owners are criminals (hackers, drug dealers, scammer, pedophiles etc), do you want to make Mark Karpeles, Loaded, FBI etc.. even richer with your money? NO, then don't buy bitcoin!

If you really have to cheat someone to buy your bags, Please do that to some one you don't know well, ie: scam some strangers & newbies on the internet forum to buy with a "train" "moon" false hope.
You might have already ruined your financial life, just don't mess up your real social life too.

Got fired for talking about Bitcoin last night
http://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/33u5gw/so_i_almost_got_fired_for_talking_about_bitcoin/

The richest guys in any economy will always be criminals that get way with it, no matter what currency we are talking about.
The good news is with BTC the system itself cannot be manipulated by said criminals.
1440  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are the pros going to rule crypto currencies? on: April 29, 2015, 05:17:38 PM
They are going to try to bring the fiat scam into the crypto ecosystem without a shadow of a doubt, to secretly buy BTC because it will be what ends up being adopted by everyone. Ripple will be another pump and dump scam. I mean who wants to use something called "Ripple", it sounds so unaesthetically pleasing.
