There are always ways to do this, which will not require so much 'human work'. I'm sure that everybody have noticed that recently there are less & less active users on the forum. Not to mention people who were busting scams. One of the main reasons (at least to me) is, because people (who cares) got tired and don't bother anymore. And I want you to perfectly understand me here - I'm not talking about the forum itself, I'm talking about the entire 'ecosystem' of the cryptocurrencies. So anyone, who's not a hypocrite seeking for a extra BTC should participate (at least imho).

need to work smarter with safeguards or options rather than put more work on moderators.
I think people should have to pass a basic "financial IQ" test before being allowed on this forum. Make sure people understand how money works, so they can identify a ponzi and other financial schemes. That's not the main point here. People running these schemes often have great 'financial IQ', yet they're annoying and kinda deserve... well... I'll keep this to myself.. Well, I wasn't referring to the people who run the schemes. They know they are stealing - they are no empathy and are usually sociapaths. I was referring to the people who fall for the schemes. Educating people after the fact doesn't work. Even people who run such schemes can drop this low to register a newbie account and spread bs. Anyway... soon they'll feel some heat under their asses.

Can someone offer some services to contact with? We're soon going to have hosting services paid with ARCO, but anything else? Keep them coming, I have some free time lately and I'll make sure to research (if they're legit) and eventually contact them.

Hello, Just exchanged few private messages with SuprNova pools owner ocminer. Servers (as you can imagine) are paid with fees, which are taken by the given pool, but at the moment, FAILCoin isn't exactly something, which can be considered profitable. This particular server has a failed hdd (I assume we're talking about bad sectors) and needs to be replaced. FAIL is the only coin there, so this was one of the main reasons for OC to decide to shut down the FAIL pool. I really get his point and what he's doing now (and for the past 2 years) is a favor to us, which will not be forgotten. Bottom line is that SuprNova pool will remain open until at least February 29. I really do hope that our Lead dev will be ready by January, but no promises here... Thank you, OC! Stay strong & stay FAILed! Cheers, Spartak

Jure tweeted something very interesting. ARCO holders are from at least 10 different countries and it looks like Russians like it the most. ARCO also has 29 connections, which is pretty good for a not so popular coin.

Well Spartak you are still wrong. Counterparty did not make a killing, it was only you who made a killing. You are trying to act that you are here to expose scams thru your "fail community" but all you want is to make profit in bitcoins.
Who doesn't want to make some profit? After all, FAIL started because of the many scams, but there's always a honest and transparent ways. I'm not going to read your future comments.

i wish rating was tied to what forums you can post in. read all but not reply. would be good if like trust you could mark useless posts for moderator review or something to stop them progressing with useless posts.
or better yet what about an option for topic starter that is - minimum rating to reply - accept replies from negative rating profiles
this way you can filter all the leocoin wankers and one liner jr member signature spam?
It would be then hard for the newbies to post. Not all of them are shill accounts. And the trust system could be abused, but probably if they are painted in red by DT forum members (I'm not sure, but I believe I am one)?

well, they always say that alts test things that bitcoin doesn't dare to. ethereum is testing out being the world's most chaotic crypto scenario perfectly.
LM f*cking AO. Nice trolling!

Okay, I deleted my latest post, because ocminer just contacted me on Twitter: Looks like you can continue to mine at SuprNova. I'm glad we sorted this out... Cheers, Spartak

On December 16, we were made aware that someone had recently gained unauthorized access to a database from forum.ethereum.org. We immediately launched a thorough investigation to determine the origin, nature, and scope of this incident. Here is what we know: The information that was recently accessed is a database backup from April 2016 and contained information about 16.5k forum users. The leaked information includes Messages, both public and private IP-addresses Username and email addresses Profile information Hashed passwords ~13k bcrypt hashes (salted) ~1.5k WordPress-hashes (salted) ~2k accounts without passwords (used federated login) The attacker self-disclosed that they are the same person/persons who recently hacked Bo Shen. The attacker used social engineering to gain access to a mobile phone number that allowed them to gain access to other accounts, one of which had access to an old database backup from the forum. We are taking the following steps: Forum users whose information may have been compromised by the leak will be receiving an email with additional information. We have closed the unauthorized access points involved in the leak. We are enforcing stricter security guidelines internally such as removing the recovery phone numbers from accounts and using encryption for sensitive data. Adding the leaked emails to https://haveibeenpwned.com to help notify affected users Resetting all forum passwords If you were affected by the attack we recommend you do the following: Ensure that your passwords are not reused between services. If you have reused your forum.ethereum.org password elsewhere, change it in those places. Additionally, we recommend this excellent blog post by Kraken that provides useful information about how to protect against these types of attacks. We deeply regret that this incident occurred and are working diligently internally, as well as with external partners to address the incident. Questions can be directed to security@ethereum.org. So did u actually sell at 6$ to realize your stated profit ?
Or did you wait for the 8$ and basically still waiting now ?
I think this would answer your question: 1. This is my own tweet. 2. It was made earlier this month. 3. I do not own a single XCP. 4. Can't say for sure, but Counterparty was never hyped and it is a valid project. At least in my views.

Banning accounts isn't a solution since the spammers will create other one...
It is a solution in some way, because they'll get tired registering new e-mails and accounts. Question here is if it would require a lot more time for the MODs (or more MODs).

FAIL !!! You are a looser Spartak! Let's see if I am a loser in this particular case. I started the thread back in June 28 and I said it could pass $8-$10 mark in the next 2-3 months, right? What happened on the following day? The price of XCP (as it can be seen on the screenshot above) was 419,310 satoshi and the price of Bitcoin was ~$640. By September 21 (a ~week before the 3th month), the price of Counterparty was 919,286 satoshi and the price (see below) of Bitcoin was ~$600. This means that when I started the thread, the price of XCP was ~$2,68 and it reached ~$5,50 by September 21. FAIL? Yes, it didn't reached at least $8 as I suggested, but cryptocurrency market is kinda different (you have 'coin of the day', hype, pumps & dumps etc...), so not always coins who had actual development are equally 'supported' by traders (not to mention we have a lot of day traders who doesn't care about 'long term' 'investments'). The statement that Spartak made is only one example that most of the people in the community have no knowledge of trading, the markets and the future of the cryptosphere in general. Try to read all the specualtions thread here. Maybe more than 90% of them got their forecasts wrong. They also want to act like they are good at trading and want to have recognition in the forum.
Your statement is only 100th example of how you're trying to act like a smartass here. What did I told you about 20 days ago?: 0.0025-0.0035 area.
Best place to accumulate some XCP
What are you talking about? You sound like a bagholder trying to hype the coin. If Counterparty really had somewhere to go it would have gone already. The problem with the platform is it is spamming the bitcoin blockchain. There is no need for it because the blocks are full as it is. And what are you talking about? I think that Counterparty hit ~$6 about 3 months after I posted this thread. It hasn't reached $8 - $10 as I was expecting, but everyone who decided to buy back then made over 100% profit. Now go reporting something else... Let's try to figure out the actual profit (if we assume that someone decided to buy back then and sold at the peak). The actual profit is 109% for less than 3 months. If you go to investor and tell him that he can make 109% profit in less than 3 months, he'll make you a blowjob. Funny thing is that you're talking about knowledge in trading. I'm no Warren Buffett and never considered myself as a good trader, but what I do have is certificate "A" for activity as a broker on Sofia Commodity Exchange. That doesn't mean that I'm an expert, but it does mean that I have some knowledge in trading, because these certificates are not actually given on the streets - you must study and show some skills in order to get it. And, btw, I don't need to do anything to get recognition in the forum, because I already have it (at least from the guys with at least half brain). I'm almost always like this: I have good reasons (at least I think so) when I'm saying something. I don't like to spend 250 hours in posts in order to prove my 'theories' (whether it is about trading, scam or some bs guy here on the forum), but when somebody like you pushes me (or oppose me), then I'm 'shooting' with my proofs. And do you know what's not in your favor here? I'm 100% right in these cases and you don't even have the chance to overturn me. Yes, there were some situations when I've said some yada yada in some threads, but I'm just human being... There you go... Cheers, Spartak

We've talked about this with Adam (batesresearch) just now on Telegram. Personally I was not aware about suprnova's intentions, but I did wrote to ocminer as well.
