561  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: February 04, 2014, 06:41:48 PM
For many people, Bitcoin is the first time they experienced a paradigm shift in a very long time. It's exciting to have your world rocked, but Bitcoin is not a casting call for paradigm-shifters. Way too many people think we now have the power to break apart anything we can get our hands on, and turn into little pieces that somehow work better. Decentralization is not your hammer, and stock exchanges are not your nail.

Amen brother.

The only people who think switching over to decentralized exchanges is a bad idea are people who are heavily invested in centralized exchanges.
Much true.

While I agree it won't be easy nor simple, it is obviously the way to go.
562  Economy / Securities / Re: [Havelock] Bitcoin Difficulty Derivative (BDD) - Now Live! on: February 04, 2014, 12:06:55 PM
Once BDD.EXCHANGE is purchased by a user, the Issuer will buy back the EXCH share(s)
[...]
Users may also decide to hold the BDD.EXCHANGE share

How?
Either you automatically exchange them via buyback, or you allow users to hold it... I'm not sure how it would be possible to do both...

Normally, the exchange will normally be processed much quicker than 24 hours.
Small typo.
563  Economy / Securities / Re: [BTC-TC] Deprived Mining Speculation (DMS) on: February 04, 2014, 10:02:25 AM
That being said, for those of you that may not be aware, I have launched a set of securities in the spirit of DMS called Bitcoin Difficulty Derivative, listed on Havelock. I sincerely missed trading in DMS and am happy to bring a version of it to the market.

There are some key differences between DMS and BDD which I hope you'll see if you choose to read the contract. Many of you, I assume, would support some of those changes: namely that all capital will be held on the exchange and there will be no investment of capital.

Both of these changes are meant solely the reduce the security holders' counter-party risk. You can never totally eliminate this risk, but these changes will allow BDD to circumvent some of the issues that DMS had/has (the close call with Coinlenders' default, Deprived's current absence).

Please let me know if you have any questions either here or in the BDD thread. Thanks for reading-
Great news, thanks!

Personally I don't really trust Havelock very much, but since currently it's the only option, I'll give it a try anyway.
564  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: direct shares vanished, what can I do? on: February 03, 2014, 04:48:32 PM
If it's been more than 2 weeks, you can be concerned. If it's been less than that, then FC is probably just busy - it often takes him that long to perform share transactions. Be patient and post back here if still hasn't gotten back to you. FC has been pretty solid in my experience - you should have little cause for concern that you won't be taken care of.
Ok thank you, I'll wait 2 weeks before being more concerned : )
565  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: direct shares vanished, what can I do? on: February 03, 2014, 09:45:45 AM
I only transfered SOME of my shares, not ALL of them.

I received the dividend on havelock, but since I still hold direct shares, I should receive dividends on the direct share address too. I did not.

566  Economy / Exchanges / Re: MtGox withdrawal delays [Gathering] on: February 03, 2014, 08:49:24 AM
I am getting slightly annoyed to them. My 14 withdrawals totalling BTC500+ have not arrived after 8 days. They sent 2 withdrawals totalling BTC2.1 to prove that they are alive though.

In my opinion it is a very scammy thing to not process the backlog in order.

Note that I do not usually call anyone scammers, this may be the first time.

Why are you still persevering there? The alarm bells have been ringing since June last year.
+1

Greed and sloth make people stupid Sad
567  Economy / Securities / ASICMINER: direct shares vanished, what can I do? on: February 02, 2014, 08:08:51 PM
I had some ASICMINER direct shares.
I transfered ***PART*** of those shares to Havelock, and the transfer was successful.
Then the dividend day came, and I received nothing on my direct shares address.
(I did correctly receive dividends on Havelock for the shares that I moved there)

Now friedcat isn't answering to my inquiry, TAT obviously can't do anything, and I'm stuck with missing shares.
Has anything like that been reported, so far? Does anyone have any advice?

edit: I did not transfer all of my shares to AM1, I only transfered SOME of them. I had X+Y direct shares, moved X shares to havelock, so I should still have Y direct shares. I have correctly X shares on havelock, but the Y direct shares disappeared.
568  Economy / Securities / Re: [LABCOIN] IPO [BTCT.CO] - Details/FAQ and Discussion (ASIC dev/sales/mining) on: February 01, 2014, 07:30:29 PM
Huh
You obviously don't work with this at a professional level, or else you wouldn't have posted that failed attempt.
And why would this be a failed attempt?
569  Economy / Lending / Re: CoinLenders Script :: Bitcoin Bank (Borrow+Deposit) Software :: Demo Available on: February 01, 2014, 07:29:22 PM
If there is some new news than it is in regards to his true identity and the lawenforcements.

The thing is, TF is intelligent enough that if he is jailed, he will not giveup a single BTC. So the only thing we could see is some punishement for TF, never a reimbursement.
It's not that he's intelligent, it's much more that other people are damn stupid...
570  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: January 30, 2014, 11:22:04 AM

Oh dear. It's there, yet not in the wallet.
My precious unconfirmed dividend Smiley

mine isn't :/
571  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: January 30, 2014, 10:07:34 AM
I transfered (to havelock) some of my direct shares 1 or 2 days before the dividends.
The transfer was successful, and on AM1 I have the correct amount of transfered shares, and have received the dividends.
However the rest of my direct shares did not receive anything.

Is this normal behaviour?
I.e. is it expected a delay in dividends if you had a partial transfer ongoing?
I'm worried they miscalculated something and my shares could have vanished...
572  Economy / Securities / Re: [BTC-TC] Deprived Mining Speculation (DMS) on: January 28, 2014, 02:17:38 PM
In any case, there have been significantly better moments to take the loot and run. There's only 150 BTC liquid right now and that's in an address that hasn't been touched. The rest of the fund is in CipherMine bonds which can't be sold at the moment. While the NAV of the fund has been up well over 2000 BTC in the past, most of it being liquid BTC.

I'm currently still in the "something happened that prevented Deprived from logging on" camp rather than the "he ran with the money" camp.
I somewhat agree, however to be fair we must take into account also the BTC value, which now has risen quite a lot.
573  Economy / Securities / Re: [BTC-TC] Deprived Mining Speculation (DMS) on: January 28, 2014, 01:44:24 PM
From my conversations with him, he didn't seem much like the type to screw people over, but that's just an impression.
That was my impression as well, that's why I'm still a bit puzzled.

DO NOT FEED THE TROLL
575  Economy / Securities / Re: [LABCOIN] IPO [BTCT.CO] - Details/FAQ and Discussion (ASIC dev/sales/mining) on: January 27, 2014, 08:51:26 PM
I got a e-mail from Labcoin yesterday (info@labcoin.com) and told me he will come after me if i continue to harass him. The nerves of Alberto to even reply back with that. It seems like he still checks his labcoin e-mail account.
I suggest again to contact the Italian fiscal police, just in case.

This<urp@gdf.it> should be the address, though I'm not sure if they handle English too.
If they don't, feel free to ask me to provide them a translation excerpt.
576  Local / Italiano (Italian) / Re: Fisco / Tasse / Legge sul Bitcoin on: January 27, 2014, 04:11:22 PM
577  Local / Italiano (Italian) / Re: Fisco / Tasse / Legge sul Bitcoin on: January 27, 2014, 03:28:53 PM
578  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: January 27, 2014, 02:39:32 PM
How long is it taking lately to process share transfers?

I am waiting 3rd week (request by mail), but i sent PM request via bitcointalk only last week ... so i'll be wiser on Wednesday. I'll let you know in PM then.
thanks
579  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: January 27, 2014, 02:10:42 PM
Friedcat promised PR.

Friedcat has millions of USD in his company.

Friedcat cannot find one person in a country with 1bn, who is able to accept some money in return for posting an accurate update to shareholders every 1-2 weeks.

Seriously............?
This copes well with my theory that while everything was going ok they issued regular updates, but when they fucked up they stopped giving updates. Still better than lying.
Of course, they also broke many promises, so while it's better than an outright lie, it doesn't beat it by much.
As far as I'm concerned I made a mistake not walking away when it was clear (if you just did look) the ship was sinking.
