621  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: January 06, 2014, 08:44:41 AM
Another 0.6 BTC means AM has to generate more than 240K BTC in the future.
This looks like a fallacy to me.
It would be true if AM's only gains would be from mining, but they will come from selling to other users instead, so there's no hard limit on how can they earn.

Of course the users would be mining themselves with their chips, and your post would imply they won't break even... well, yes, might be true. Still, they might buy anyway, like they did so far so often.
622  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: January 06, 2014, 08:40:17 AM
I think some people just try to pump and dump, taking advantage of the out-coming tape-out. Even the tape-out is successful (most likely someone has already got some insider news about the progress), the current price is still way over-priced in my opinion.

No it isn't. The value of a stock is based on all future dividends, discounted by risk and some penalty for future returns being worth less than money today.

What is going on in the next two months for asicminer is totally irrelevant.
Obviously wrong: what happens during the next two months directly affects the future dividends, so it's far from irrelevant.
623  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I have an innovative coin idea, but am not sure where to start... on: January 05, 2014, 06:27:30 PM
hey, I know how you feel. This is something I am thinking about: to make coins more equal for everyone. This would be huge. But I am also weak at programming.
I am collecting contacts to all the people interested in this idea - something like EQUAL COIN, PEOPLE COIN or something like that.

I am going to make a board in the future to discuss it.
Hit me up if you are interested
This is so flawed deeply in the roots that I'm not sure were to start to bash it...
624  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I have an innovative coin idea, but am not sure where to start... on: January 05, 2014, 06:14:59 PM
Hi,

I have an idea for a new alt coin (not crap coin) It is actually innovative, and has some features that I don't think have been seen before.

That said, I have NO idea how to implement the coin....

Here are the features it would have:

  • Instant block loading or synchronizing with network
  • No one would have any advantage mining, no matter what kind of computer you have, you mine at the same speed as everyone else
  • No processing power is used in mining, so the computer of someone mining is not slowed down (this also allows it to be mined at the same time as other coins )

That is the general idea, and I know how it could work, but as I said before, I have no idea how to implement it....

Any pointers on what to do/how to get started???

Thanks,
Josh

I also have a great idea on how to upgrade bodies:

  • Self-healing capabilities
  • High-speed flying
  • Force shield

I'm not sure were to start, do you have any advice?

Could you just stop feeding the trolls, please?

Thank you.
626  Economy / Exchanges / Re: MtGox withdrawal delays [Gathering] on: January 05, 2014, 02:06:01 PM
I don't have time to research why another exchange is actually more "trustworthy"

I am also following the idea that going with #1 isn't a bad choice. Isn't Gox too big to fail.... ughhh exchanges are Bitcoins biggest problem
You got it all backwards.

1. "Too big to fail" implies you are so big that the government will bail you out rather than allowing you to shut down. Mtgox definitely doesn't match this definition.

2. Trying a lesser-known exchange is likely not worse than using one which is known to be bad.

hint:
Quote
The sole and only reason to buy there, is because you already have fiat stuck there and you want to get it out ASAP.

About selling, if you are optimist you can say that some people value that the risk of Mt.Gox defaulting plus the time they have to wait without their money is less than the price difference with the other exchanges.

If you are pessimist, you could say instead that they are simply stupid and do random things without really thinking about it.

Still, since there's no reason at all to send fiat there to buy BTC, yes, I agree it makes no sense for Mt.Gox to be still in business.
627  Local / Italiano (Italian) / Re: Fisco / Tasse / Legge sul Bitcoin on: January 04, 2014, 10:48:47 PM
Salve,

628  Economy / Securities / Re: [LABCOIN] IPO [BTCT.CO] - Details/FAQ and Discussion (ASIC dev/sales/mining) on: January 04, 2014, 01:57:15 PM
Justice has already been served here.

Anybody that held shares for months on end with profits in the 200-400% range while I shouted endlessly how this was an obvious scam because they refused to ever post pictures/videos of a their hashing, was blinded by greed and deserves to lose their money.

Looks like this "fudster" was just a guy with at least half a brain. It still boggles my mind how anyone believed they were hashing on a private pool with their own chips but they couldn't get a picture online because the team was on different continents. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
I wouldn't really call this "justice".

Stupid people deserve to be punished for their stupidity, but evil people do not deserve to earn thanks to their evilness.
629  Economy / Lending / Re: CoinLenders Script :: Bitcoin Bank (Borrow+Deposit) Software :: Demo Available on: January 04, 2014, 01:54:04 PM
I am willing to sell my CL deposit. Anyone interested please PM with offers. More details available on request.
I am offering you 0 satoshis, transaction fee is on you.
In case it proves technically impossible to send 0 satoshis, I can send you 1 satoshi instead: consider it a tip, not a real price: the real value of that deposit is effectively 0 IMHO.
630  Economy / Securities / Re: [BTC-TC] Deprived Mining Speculation (DMS) on: January 02, 2014, 11:13:22 PM
And yes, of course I warned several times about that. People just didn't listen. Their loss.

I think you tend to oversimplify things a bit.

Of course, I agree that any amount of Bitcoin that you are sending away from your own wallets are at risk of loss, by definition.

But you have to admit that beyond the pure technical aspects of transactions and wallets, any economical system involves contracts at some point.

There is a significant difference in the semantics behind:

a) bitching about a breach of contract for "ethical" reasons (i.e. boo hoo),
b) defending one's interest after a breach of contract (i.e. due diligence)

While your reasoning applies pretty well to a), it ignores b) and makes it like there is nothing to be done after a breach of contract.

I will not waste my time and others' for a) here. If Deprived never shows up again, I will write off my loss as you say. I will survive, and yes, I knew it could happen. But I would be a fool and a bad manager if I wouldn't try to identify Deprived IRL and use any legal means necessary *and* proportionate to my debt due to recover it, by due diligence.

I'm just too poor to do nothing about it, at least yet Wink
But I never said you should do nothing, I actually approve if you do...
631  Economy / Securities / Re: [BTC-TC] Deprived Mining Speculation (DMS) on: January 02, 2014, 09:07:48 PM
LABCOIN had the taste, the color, the shape, the smell and the sound of a scam.

Wouldn't say that for Ukyo's exchange, even though WeEx was always looming behind.
WeEx and Bitfunder were so crap, and their security was a joke: scam or not it was better not to touch them.
Also, requiring to use WeEx to use Bitfunder was a huge warning sign.

Why the users of inputs.io are greedy? Is it fair to say so.
They weren't greedy, just stupid and gullible.
Coinlenders users were also greedy, though.

Did you know inputs.io was a blatant scam before that 'hacking'?
Of course.
It was under everyone's eyes: just read at the footer of the site, claiming everything was fictional, and escalating that claim more and more every few months.
And yes, of course I warned several times about that. People just didn't listen. Their loss.
632  Economy / Securities / Re: [BTC-TC] Deprived Mining Speculation (DMS) on: January 01, 2014, 07:31:57 PM
If only Labcoin was the only one, you can add the Ukyo/WeEx/BitFunder mess, inputs.io
These were all BLATANT scams, which only people blinded by stupid greed could fall for.

My BTC address is

1MWPSLU5QW5YnwztWxGgspzTMPxiAv8k3A

Congrats to BTC.00215, but I guess he meant to give a reward when he gets all of his bitcoin.
I view it differently: I think he should give him a % of those he manages to get back now.

This is supported by the actual quote:
they can have 10% of what I recover.

"I trained software"

What does that even mean? He found a wild software in the jungles of the Amazon and tamed it? It takes artificial intelligence / machine learning to break HMAC-SHA512?
I guess he cought it in a Pokèball™...

How is the witch hunt going?
Likely exactly zero, like always.

639  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: December 28, 2013, 05:30:34 PM
Hi guys very new to the board but reading up Bitcoin a lot over last few months.  Ive read White Paper still overwhelmed by potential I see in this disruptive tech.  Posted quite a lot today have noticed there seems to be disingenuous tl:dr attitude which I may have unwittingly been fuelling which explains the reason Im now conscious of having to keep my posts short as poss.  Heres my contribution.  I have set a goal of making 100 Bitcoin during 2014.  I have some inheritance money and will buy and hold the majority (btc quantity will not rise but value might) but want to invest in a high risk:reward venture such as Bitcoin securities yeah.  My Uni room mate basically sent me here so here I am.  Is Asic Miner something you would recommend to me Ive been told will go back up in price again soon?  Last question is it just scare mongering when people talk about companies getting shut down by the Americans when Bitcoin is a global phenomenon?
I found entertaining and ironic that you notice this thread is cluttered with lengthy post, then half of your post itself is just a preface.
And not formatted.
Formatting helps A LOT.

I'm not familiar with gambling sites: does just-dice, being more friendly, have the unfortunate side-effect of attracting beggars with more-or-less plausible stories, or is it usual anyway?
