Forgot to mention my refund was chips only. Assembly has not been refunded.

I kinda forgot did SB mention anything about refunds for assembly?

Replace the 120MM fan with GT1850

not very widely common in EU Sad

hm.. that is not very high airflow (cfm) is that really enough? I would have thought more is needed..

Hmm I think the AP15 moves around 58 CFM. What kind of airflow are you looking at?
563  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL Single air flow? on: October 01, 2013, 01:03:46 PM
I replaced the 2 x 92mm fans on the heatsinks to  2 x 120mm Gentle Typhoon AP-15s. Runs naked on my desk with no sound at all @ 60C.

well.. I do not want to strip single.. as components on and under the pcb are less cooled then..

Well I'm pushing air through the heatsinks and it seems ok so far. No crashes or reboots since I got it last week.

also see how many % of HW Errors they are doing, number is huge

You know I face the facts, the ugly ones, too - but I'm very happy with it.
Why? because THEY JUST GOT IT UP & RUNNING under incredible time & psycho pressure!

Image you are the guy responsible that the f'ing hashrate finally goes above some shitty 1% before 23:59.
They did great. As engineer I'm more than impressed - even can't find the right words to express the wow.

edit:
tuning will follow, let's see Smiley

Maybe they're testing the Saturn now. Smiley

Refunded. Smiley I'm already in the table in the 2nd post.

30/9/2013.

Orama:

Can the miner be upgraded via USB or only via JTAG?
It's almost midnight in Sweden. Let them go have a beer and I'm sure q&a can wait until tomorrow.

That's true. I'm just glad they've been vindicated.

Cheers to all @ KNC. Smiley

Let's cool down.. I came here to ruin the fun. Bitfury chips are 55nm and do <0.7 W/Gh. KNCMiner chips are reportedly >1.4W/Gh.

I'm just wondering as I really have no idea, how much would an equivalent miner (in terms of GH/s) from Bitfury cost?

Well, if you purchased today:

Bitfury, 400 GH/s, $8000, delivered in Oct.
KnC, 500 GH/s, $4995, delivered in Nov.

It'll be a few months before the energy costs become significant, so they're pretty close in value.

Thanks for the info. Smiley

Now, where's my Saturn!

Just received my refund requested on 14/9. Thx SB.
574  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official Thread: Advanced Mining Technology (AMT) on: September 30, 2013, 04:01:47 PM
Noticed that the post AMT_Miners mentioned that 5GH/s miners are producing 0.1BTC a day now has been deleted.

Let's say that KNC is going to be late and deliver Day 1 and Day 2 orders in October or near to the 2nd batch.

Should Day 1 and Day 2 orders be upgraded/compensated for the delay?

(full disclosure, I have a Day 1 order)
576  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Advanced Mining Technology (AMT) taking Orders now. on: September 29, 2013, 02:49:41 PM

So you have a 5ghs of power now, your making about $12 a day.

What? I have 60gh/s and I make 0.18btc a day.

I hate to keep being Debbie Downer but I am confused as to why some of you don't seem to understand the current situation. As of right ‘now’, even  if you got the chips for free, electricity for free, SB shipped the boards for FREE, you WOULD NOT make ROI.  In fact if someone came up to me TODAY with a fully functional (as in 4.5GH with no hardware errors) K16 board and asked $80 for it - I would not buy it at this point.

Again - https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Ah7ZJVoobFY7dDRGQk1kdmJmaUJwZENKZUdNejJlWEE#gid=0

Realistically if you start mining today, a K16 might produce 0.5BTC before it hits electricity/reward break point.

Erm, if everything was free, your investment was $0 therefore ROI is at $0. Everything you mine would be profit.

Not "everything". In his hypothetical scenario, chips, electricity, and shipping are free. I infer that means the assembly and boards themselves are not.

Ok gotcha. Smiley

I still haven't got my refund from SB.

PS: I'm the only one on the forum that have pre-ordered that?

I'm thinking of ordering one....
