need to have your wallet open (unencrypted)
you can enter password in the console
walletpassphrase <passphrase> <timeout> [mintonly]

discussed here for PPC
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=101820.msg1725936#msg1725936

not sure of the exact rules but my I opened my wallet last night after it had been closed for a week and it played catchup for a couple of hours

Thanks FlungSpun!

Just to confirm, you don't need to be mining for GRW as well, just have an open wallet?

I haven't received a single interest payment yet and I've had coins in my wallet since Aug 6.

I encrypted my wallet and I now see a msg that says "Minting Suspended Due to Locked Wallet". Do you have to have an unencrypted wallet in order to receive interest payments? I don't see any way to unlock the wallet or remove encryption.

Um, the "Satoshi Dice" guy as well as Dead Terra are some of the most respected members of the Bitcoin community.

Yes, you are correct, you do not get the physical ASIC in hand. If you want a physical ASIC, you can order an Avalon or BFL and wait and pray that you eventually receive something in the mail. If you do receive a unit, you can then worry about your increased electric bills.

Some of us prefer to just sit in our underwear, click a couple of links and buttons and let someone else do all the work while we watch porn and cat videos while collecting a nice percentage of the profits. Is 75% not enough? Should they send us all the profits?

So, what you're saying is that IceDrill.ASIC is sort of like ButterflyLabs, only the product might ship and I don't have to wear pants? Damn, if this were only in the prospectus I think fewer of us would have had questions. Wink

No, I am saying that I am tired of the onslaught of idiotic questions, as I'm sure many other readers of this thread are.

I can't count how many posts on here are basically saying: "What?! You want us to fund your purchase of ASICs and then we will only receive 75% of the returns? I can just order an ASIC myself!"

To which my response would be: "Yes, you certainly can order an ASIC yourself. Now go order one and get the fuck out of this thread which is for people who are investing in someone else's mining operation."

Maybe tomorrow when my real estate agent comes over I'll say: "What?! You want 3% of the selling price?! Why I can just sell my house by myself!" Hopefully that will entice him to lower his percentage while he continues to do all the work for me.

I thought this was interesting but when I saw how much work the satoshi dice guy put into convincing us it was a great deal, I felt uncomfortable.   I mean, he posting more here than he communicated with his shareholders in the last year (I have not done a word count but I do not think I am exaggerating much).

So, can anyone tell me why my summary of this is not correct?
This is a a pre-sale of ASICs, where you only get 75% of the asic you pre-paid for AND you do not have the physical ASIC in hand?

I'm in! As of right now there are still 5,855,921 shares remaining in the first offering. I sure hope some more private investors scoop some of this up as I don't see how we'll make the deadline otherwise.

I am eagerly awaiting the release of StartMail, from the StartPage developers:

https://beta.startmail.com/

Can they be trusted with our data? Are they an American company? And are they as secure as Lavabit?

Looks like a great alternative that will definitely be needed for us ex-Lavabit users whom await good news about the service.

It sounds like it will be the best choice for private email available. I know StartPage is highly recommended for internet searches as it uses the google search engine but without all the tracking.

Not sure where they will be based out of - I highly doubt it will be the US as that would defeat the whole purpose.

I was a Lavabit user too - when I researched them and discovered they were American I didn't want to use them but there weren't any other good alternatives. I pray that StartMail is what we've all been waiting for.

592  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Looking to trade an activated, funded Ripple account for LTC on: May 22, 2013, 10:51:25 AM
Hi all, I'm looking to trade an activated, funded Ripple account for 3.62 LTC. I funded it with all I could leaving only 175 XRP in my main account and 198 XRP in the one I am offering for trade. That's more than enough for the reserve and to establish a trust line with a gateway such as Bitstamp in order to move BTC in and buy more XRPs if desired.

If you do the math, 3.62 LTC is worth about $10.59 on BTC as of me writing this. XRP values fluctuates widely on the exchange but Bitstamp sells it for 40 per USD meaning the total value of the account in USD is a little under $5.

I can assure you I am not trying to squeeze an extra $5 out of someone - I just happen to need exactly 3.62 LTC and quickly, hence the reason I came up with the idea for this trade.

Besides, it's not that easy to start a Ripple wallet from scratch as you either need to receive the initial XRP in a giveaway or go beg on a forum thread for someone to start you off before you can trade with Btistamp. I've got everything ready to go for you - just login and start exploring the awesomeness that is Ripple!

Please send me a PM  if interested. We can confirm the transaction in the thread of course.

I hold both BTC and LTC and now I'm looking to get into XRP (Ripple) as I think it has real potential (as does Google and a host of other VC firms).

595  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Best LTC online wallet? on: May 15, 2013, 11:37:00 PM
The official Litecoin client is the only one I could find that would run locally - I'd stay away from leaving large amount on online wallets or exchanges - too much can go wrong IMHO.
596  Other / Beginners & Help / Hi all, would you believe.... on: May 15, 2013, 11:34:38 PM
I registered in 2011 and I am still a newbie with only 1 post!

Actually, I completely forgot about this account as most the time I am browsing these forums on my bro's computer with his account.... about time I get my own account started I think Smiley

Fun and exciting times to be involved with Bitcoin, that's for sure!
