pfuuu...seems like most are missing a tiny but very important fact when shouting at each other, which could relax the whole situation dramatically.

Please consider there are several kind of people involved.
Not all are in the same position, we all are individuals keep it in mind before starting the next fight.

1) ppl who do not care that much about ROI, some have fun mining and to be part of the cryptocoin movement
2) ppl who invested in hope they might get a good deal with up to %50 on top of investment
3) ppl who got sucked into this by their greed or where mislead by lies and dream of a lot of money

Number 1 customers stick to their order.
Number 2 is partially jumping the ship as losses seem to be way more likely than a ROI atm (may change)
Number 3 should get a refund now if not done, yet

I share both perspectives (1+2) at the same time with weighted priority based on amount spend.

I had one device for myself (canceled). I invested with the awareness of a total loss and in hope of profit.
However I still do not want to risk my money on a bet I will loose way more likely than it works out. Therefore canceled.

Then I have another one as groupbuy in place going to be shipped.
The Groupbuy was made with 'real life' friends who are all totally aware that it's high risk investment.
They know they might loose everything, but they are ok with it as they want to support the cryptocoin movement and still have somehow hope that in some years it might pay out...if not, nobody worries.  And they don't give shit about our forum talks.

---

Another aspect of this story is that we all (KnC & customers) could make profit, but currently it looks like KnC only, no?
In combination with their claim of 'under promise, over delivery' and being late on news about current state of progress, this has a very bad taste and it's not surprising that ppl jump the ship.

Honestly I'm still in hope that KnC will surprise its customers, because for some strange reason my gut tells me ppl receiving orders will be happy.
Nevertheless I've canceled my device, because there's no rational reason for me at this point in time not to do so - maybe I regret it, maybe I won't, but for sure I will decide this way again in a similar situation.

Well reasoned. I'm probably no.2 in your list and I do hope that KNC does over-deliver at this point as I'm still keeping my order.

Well there'll be ROI, just negative (if we are unlucky). You all mean break-even, right?  Wink

According to the genesis block, no. No breaking even unless hash rate increase or BTC price increase.
And it also doesn't factor in the effect of your KNCminer purchase has on the hash rate.

Sadly true. Sad

please stop inaba bullshit, lol

?

I'm just saying that's the only way to break-even with the current hash rate of the miners or you didn't read my statement properly.

yes, it sucks.

I hope, that they will announce some program/future discounts for 1st/2nd day guys, because these guys helps them to establish the company and paid everything.

KNC should send Day1/Day 2 customers, a Jupiter of they ordered a Saturn and a Saturn+Jupiter if they ordered a Jupiter.  Grin
586  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: September 26, 2013, 09:29:05 AM
Day 1 Order here and looking at the genesis block it is a bit depressing. No ROI at all unless KNC gives us some kind of hash rate increase. Sad

edit. If they increased the Saturn to 310gh/s it could ROI. http://mining.thegenesisblock.com/a/be37f17cb1

Apologies if I missed it but is there a way to simply reorder the pools or switch pools easily?

Ok, so which connector is it on the back of the single? 8-pin or 6-pin? I'm going to need 4 since I have 2 singles coming... would really like a powersupply that has connectors on the back only so I can avoid the cable mess. Are the connectors 6+2 pin PCI-E?

2 x 6pins per single. Something like 850w and above should be suffice to power both at the same time. Definitely buy a reputable PSU brand with Gold or Platinum rating and modular so you can avoid the cable mess.

which psu do you have?

So what are the dimensions of the original heatsink fans? Can you post a photo?

Also how are you powering your singles? Does the brick have a fan in it?

The 2 original fans on the heatsinks are 90mm I think. The other 2 on the sides are 120mm (which I don't use anymore).

I'm using my own PSU instead of the BFL supplied PSU and yes the BFL PSU does have a fan in it.

MY LS arrived the other day and I have to agree, its almost as loud as a hair dryer.  Maybe not THAT loud.  I think its about on par with my Dyson vacuum cleaner.  I think a hair dryer is louder then that.  I tried changing out fans with a nice Noctua, but the Noctua couldn't keep the temp down low enough.  In the end I went back to a stock fan and I'm dealing with the noise.

There is no way to sleep with this thing in the same room.  I had it 2 rooms away with doors closed and I could still hear it a little from where I was sleeping.

I agree its pretty loud. I got my Single a few days ago and tore it apart.

I'm using 2 120mm gentle typhoons (1850rpm and whisper quiet) blowing down on the heatsinks. That's about it. They do run a little hotter at 62C compared to 57C but I'll trade the temp increase for the quiet.
592  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Black Arrow announces 28nm 64Ghash Bitcoin ASIC @ $1.99/Ghash on: September 22, 2013, 07:31:57 AM
I love the prices but 64gh/s (the only one I have bitcoins for) isn't going to make any ROI in feb 2014. Sad

We do not think this is correct. We already replied to this here.

Quote
We are making the most efficient ASIC possible and there's nowhere to go to from 28nm until 2015. We're offering all preorders a better deal that we'll have when we'll deliver the ASICs and we're guaranteeing that we'll offer the best price on the market.

If our ASIC will not be profitable, no ASIC will be and bitcoin mining will stop.

I do hope you're right.  Grin

Now this is interesting. Which will arrive first? KNC, BFL or Bitburner XX?

1) I have a KNC Day 1 order (saturn)
2) My lonesome BFL Single order shipped earlier this week but seems to be stuck in Chicago (I'm international)
3) Zefir is sending out the Avalon chips on monday

Any bets? lol

Hmm, ran the the numbers a few times and the ROI is very bad.

What numbers? I didn't see a release date.

No, you didn't. You made a donation. Remember that.

True, typed that out wrongly. My bad.

However, some guide to get it working would be great.
