5941  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: My Bitcoin just disappeared... can anyone help pls? on: December 24, 2017, 02:47:20 PM
I received a message off you with your transaction id, which I won't disclose here. But, the fee that's included in the transaction ID I received is very low for the current network. Unfortunately due to the current network congestion, transactions are costing more for the miners to prioritize and get them confirmed in an accepted time frame.

You can try some of the free/paid accelerators out there if you need the transaction to confirm, but in future check out: https://bitcoinfees.earn.com/ to know what sort of fee to send.

Tell me one thing, what's the use of people going after DT members or positive trust members to seek trust, its not going to benefit them financially given they are not scammers. I feel the green trust  system is somewhat useless during off-trades. About the escrow ,I fully agree with you.
I'm not sure I understand what you want to be answered, but for me personally I always check every trust that the user has before trading with them. Regardless, whether they are trusted feedback or untrusted.

True, but then issues are issues. Theymos is an admin,he should try to do something not figuratively but literally. Creating threads and keeping quiet after that, not something which is expected of the admin, you can see how pissed hilariousetc/hilariousandco is,for the fact that theymos is ignoring quite a lot of queries. The new forum is been under devolopement since forever.

It's likely that he will do something about it, but at the moment he's just collecting feedback from the community before implementing something to prevent future controversy. For example, it was requested numerous times to limit the amount of personal messages that we can be sent by a user, specifically newer accounts. That was implemented a little while ago, admittedly a bit overdue but it was implemented.

If you can add a few solutions to the current problems I imagine he would welcome that. Hilariousandco has been very outspoken throughout his time here, and I personally support some of the solutions he's came up with to curb the current issues with signature spam. Theymos has already ruled out his suggestions though.

One more weird thing which I noticed was the amount of TX accelerators, people are using free ones, and users are paying them tips? What bull-shit is this man? Some sort of development is required.
There's a thread about this over here in the meta section currently: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2625104.0
5943  Other / Meta / Re: my bitcointalk forum account is hacked on: December 24, 2017, 02:04:17 PM
Yes, it's the fastest way to get your account back and the only way. But, expect to wait a few months because account recovery doesn't seem to be high priority and there's only Cyrus and theymos who are capable of recovering the account for you.

If you don't get a reply in 2 weeks, send another one and continue to do that every fortnight.

People are scamming everywhere.
This has always been happening since the start of the forum. It was why the trust system and default trust was introduced. Various members try to combat it using the feedback on the trust page. Really, though anyone dealing with another user on the forum should use escrow.

Theymos isn't doing anything about the tons and tons of issues.
He's started two discussion threads about the recent problems and asked the communities feedback which to me looks like he's trying to do something about the current situation.

Most of the problems that you have mentioned has been happening since you have been registered though, so I don't quite understand how you see anything different. These problems have existed for at least a year now.

5945  Other / Meta / Re: Request to help unlock my Bitcointalk account on: December 24, 2017, 10:43:56 AM
I have to sign a message using a Bitcoin address or PGP key associated with the account. I do have a Bitcoin wallet, but I don't think any wallets were ever associated with my account. I also never heard of a PGP key.

My old profile is here:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=91888

Probably Im not getting it back am I...

If that's your old profile then it hasn't posted an address/PGP key publicly, unless you sent an address via personal messages then you aren't going to be able to get it back.

Just carry on with this account the account you linked hasn't got many posts, and the only difference from this account is the date registered which not many people take into account anyway.
5946  Economy / Digital goods / Re: WTB] AMAZON , STEAM and CSGO in game Skins,Case Keys on: December 24, 2017, 10:39:18 AM
Normally, it's the buyer that pays the fees for escrows. Your probably not going to get a cheap code if you aren't willing to pay for the escrow due to the seller having to cover the fees of the escrow.

There's some legitimate services which offer to purchase things off amazon directly without giving you codes, and charges a 3-5% fee. If you change your mind on paying for the escrow, I might be able to purchase some codes for you, but I won't be selling for anything lower than face value. Otherwise, I'll have to cover the escrow fee + face value.
5947  Economy / Auctions / Re: H0L0.com on: December 24, 2017, 10:34:48 AM
Initial bid lowered to .0250 BTC for the next 48hr. No reserve!

You haven't specified any of the information, like increments to bid. Take a look at this thread and follow the instructions: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=287020.0

You'll get more interest because people know the rules, and the rules can't change after they have been posted.
5948  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: My Bitcoin just disappeared... can anyone help pls? on: December 24, 2017, 10:26:19 AM
We can't really help without seeing the transaction ID. If you could provide that we'll be able to see if the funds did actually arrive and are in the address you sent too.

If you don't want to give us the ID of the transaction, then you can check on blockchain.info if it's confirmed and is in the destination address. Let us know exactly what is says.
5949  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Number of campaigns and other than ICO projects are reduced from 2016-17 on: December 24, 2017, 12:42:54 AM
Numbero of ICOs popping around the corner is actually a good start in making the cryptocurrency world a better scene and appealing to the people and the governments as well. A couple of months ago, ICOs popped like crazy and many people were burned due to the fact that almost all of them are just there to rob people off their money. As for the campaigns, the number is still decent and the members they allow to enter are still okay considering that they are trying their best to operate at the lower cost possible while still seeing some positive results for their ad campaign. The managers are also screening the aspiring members of the campaign very well in order to minimize the spam in this forum since it's a go-to for third world citizens that wants to earn some cash on the side.

Some of the campaigns are run by campaign members which are actually doing some quality control, but others are either using a user which isn't very reputable/experienced or they are running it themselves.

There's needs to be more quality control, especially with the ICOs paying stakes. These sort of campaigns are causing a lot of the spam over in the alt coin section, as well as intention bumping from newly created accounts. You only have to take a look at the bounty section, and take a look at some of the members which are enrolled in some of the campaigns and the majority of them are posting "Good project", "Will invest" and a random line praising the coin and then adding "Good luck" on the end.

5950  Other / Meta / Re: Ideas for improving post quality? on: December 22, 2017, 10:22:30 PM
How about "simply" enhancing the "report to moderator" feature? First, allow me to ask a question to mods: when we pressed that button, does mods manually verify if the reported post is truly a spam or does it happen rather automatically?

If mods are manually verifying them, is is possible to make a rule where if a user get five consecutive accurate spam report, they get permaban?

If those reports are verified automatically, is it possible to set a condition where upon 10 or 20 users reported someone's post, they got marked and after 3 marks in one week, they're out.

Furthermore, (suggested by someone on previous page, just recycling) could we automatically delete the permabanned user's entire posts? That way, it won't be an eye sore to a thread.

This method will hopefully helps sweep away spam account as there are a lot of people working together.

As an addition, if we implemented this idea (and to cherish the idea of some "honorable member" like DT), maybe we can add a system where members with high report accuracy will have higher score, like if someone need to have 10 reports from "normal" member to be banned, a collection of five "100% accurate" member is enough to give him a temporary good bye.

Everybody here are aware of the existence of "ruled out" keywords on theymos' post, right?

Thing is a lot of reports will be just posting in the wrong section, and it's not directly breaking the rules. There's some tricky threads out there which cross over into two sections. Newbies even though they should read the guidelines shouldn't be expected to know everything. There will also be a lot of witch hunting going on if x number of consecutive reports results in a ban, certain members will be targeted.

I think it's just more reasonable to either ban signature campaigns completely, which I think is an extreme approach, or punish those running the campaigns. I think the paid signature suggestion really does solve a lot of the problems that we are currently having. Not many people are going to fork $100/$200 to be able to wear a signature and even if they were it would prevent them from doing it on multiple accounts, unless they are extremely motivated and have the funds to back that up. It would be nice to know why theymos is against this particular suggestion.

When reporting posts you could put in the notes that the person is spamming throughout the forum and ask the moderator to take a look at their post history. I've noticed when mentioning this a few accounts have been banned in the modlog.
5951  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Need all of this transactions accelerated and confirmed asap for $250 on: December 22, 2017, 04:17:33 PM
You can try free accelerators such as ViaBtc. I know they have a minimum fee in order for them to accelerate it, which I can't remember now, but you can always  try the other services which have varying criteria for accelerating the transaction. ViaBTC also has a max limit of submissions each day which have probably already been used.

Here's a list of all the free and paid accelerators: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2624419.0

5952  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Bitcoin sent from Payeer.com stuck in the blockchain on: December 22, 2017, 01:18:00 PM
The sat/byte is actually higher than average by quite some bit. It should be higher priority than a lot of the other transactions in the block, but it's probably taking a little bit longer than your used to due to the network being congested at the moment. Just remain patient and it should confirm relatively soon hopefully.

You could try accelerating it with one of the free services out there.
5953  Other / Meta / Re: Please stop the free tx accelerator spam or at least give it its own section on: December 21, 2017, 01:29:47 PM
I was planning to make a thread about this. IMO, It's likely that most of these users are the same person, the way they all ask and almost force people to give them tips (same style in writing too) is suspicious. Creating a new section is not worth it though. It will barely fill 1-2 pages.

I don't think a new section is needed, just a sticky which points to these free services that all of these users are using anyway, then ban/delete all of these "post your tx and I'll accelerate it for you" posts.
5954  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Transactions are not confirming anymore on: December 21, 2017, 12:36:43 PM
The Bitcoin network is currently under a little stress, therefore the network is congested. Transactions will take longer, and depending on your luck is when it will be confirmed. You'll be waiting longer if the mining pool sent smaller than average fees. You can try accelerating it via some free accelerators, other than that you'll just have to wait for it to be confirmed.
5955  Economy / Exchanges / Re: ShapeShift.io Scam? on: December 20, 2017, 02:43:34 PM
Both the Bitcoin/ETH network is currently congested, due to the recent price surge. Depending on your fee, is when it's likely to confirm. Give it around 12 hours, and then contact their support. I believe that they wait for at least 1 confirmation before processing the order so it might just be the case of waiting for it to confirm if it hasn't already.
5956  Other / Meta / Re: My bitcointalk.org account was stolen. Where can i write to admin? on: December 20, 2017, 10:02:18 AM
The moderators won't ban/lock it unless you can provide any evidence at all. I would think that a legendary account at least sent their address once on the forum. Whether you remember doing a trade with someone via PM then you could ask them to report that message. Meta is basically a support system for hacked accounts nowadays.

5957  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Low fee on: December 18, 2017, 10:04:01 PM
Depending on the version of Electrum you are running, then you could use  CPFP (child pays for parent). Check in your preferences whether dynamic fees is enabled, if not enable it. Go to your history of transactions and right click on the transaction with the "low fee" message and select CPFP. A slider will come up which you can then readjust the fee.

If you haven't got a version which supports CPFP, then you can always try out a free accelerator service, such as viabtc.
5958  Other / Meta / Re: account banned - sorry for another one of these posts on: December 18, 2017, 09:55:28 PM
OK, I've done more reading on other people's posts and I see that I may have been banned for participating in airdrop threads?  But, if this is the case why are hundreds of other people in those same threads not banned?  All my messages were deleted, so if the same thing was being done to everyone none of the threads I posted in should have any comments at all.  And also why are the thread creators not banned if posting in these threads is not allowed?

This is very confusing to me, as airdrops seem to be a great way to distribute an altcoin fairly, and the initial ann is not deleted from the forum, but forum members are punished for participating?

Looking for further clarification on this rule.

There's hundreds/thousands/∞ accounts which are posting the exact same messages, and it's difficult for the moderators to catch them all. I assure you they are being dealt with. Take a look at the modlog: https://bitcointalk.org/modlog.php
A lot of them are deleted, but if the user is caught spamming multiple times, then they will be banned. Especially the accounts which are spamming "Joined" etc. [1]

Those are the accounts which are spamming the types of messages you did, and they are being dealt with. The ANN thread will be deleted if they are offering an incentive to the user to reply/spam their thread and the member who created it will be banned. [2]

In your particular case, you obviously spammed multiple times. For a definite answer, you'll have to wait for a staff member to respond, but It's very unlikely you'll be unbanned.

5959  Economy / Reputation / Re: Gunthar, developer of Gunbot can't do basic math. Gunbot a SCAM? on: December 18, 2017, 06:32:21 PM
Gunthar is human? No way! Everyone makes a mistake from time to time and his software Gunbot has been used by the many and is a trusted piece of software. He doesn't have access to your funds, and the program in fact should be viewed as a aid rather than something that can make you money.

How you've made a new account just to slander Gunthar is certainly questionable though. You two have obviously exchanged words before, and didn't want to make such a accusation on your main account. Probably because you knew it wouldn't stand up.
5960  Other / Meta / Re: "Account issues" child board in Meta on: December 18, 2017, 06:05:22 PM
I think this section is needed as of right now. Maybe, in a year or two we won't need once all of the madness has died down. But, right now it would be beneficial for both the moderators as well as the general user browsing the Meta section.

The amount of account recovery requests is clogging up the first page, and I think there's enough account related threads that justifies the new board. (In fact I think this very thread was buried considering the amount of views it has)
