My name is Nejc Kodrič, co-founder and CEO of Bitstamp.

I got got introduced to bitcoin by my colleague and now co-founder of Bitstamp, Damijan Merlak. We both soon started mining bitcoins. Later we figured there is a need for EU domiciled exchange. So we build it. Bitstamp was launched in August 2011.

Bitcoin industry was much different. Not many people have heard about it and banks & policy makers didn't care about it - it was simply too small.
Whenever it was mentioned in the news, it always had somewhat negative connotation. I'm very glad that I was around when bitcoin made it's first steps. As many of you probably also know. It's a great story!

I am an entrepreneur. I started my career 20 years ago building banking systems. 16 months ago I founded Fermat : A peer to peer Financial Application Framework. We have been in stealth mode until just now, so it is quite logical that you have never heard about us.

Fermat in a nutshell is a P2P Network for transporting meta-data and a Plug-ins Framework to build P2P Financial Applications that are both crypto currency and digital assets enabled. The goal is to decentralize the full stack up until the GUI in order to enable an ecosystem of financial applications that do not require trust and are censorship resistant.

I am Andreas M. Antonopoulos. I've been involved in bitcoin for 4 years, 3 of those as my full-time and only occupation.

I'm a computer scientist with a Master's degree in Data Communications and have been coding since I was 11. For two decades I was a freelance security consultant, system administrator, IT manager and developer in a wide variety of roles. I've spent a lot of time working in the data centers of financial services companies.

Once I discovered bitcoin and realized the power of this technology, I switched my focus entirely to bitcoin. I've written a technical book "Mastering Bitcoin" which is published by O'Reilly Media and also available as an open source title. The book is currently being translated into more than 30 languages and can be read for free in 5 languages.

I am a payments geek and a FinTech entrepreneur. When I first learned about Bitcoin in 2011, I thought it was interesting so I bought some and promptly forgot about it. My first company was a credit card processor that was acquired by Sage Payments. I joined Bank of America Merrill Lynch in 2012 to cover emerging payments, and our group evaluated many new payments technologies including Apple Pay.

In 2014, Kent and I started Purse out of a coffee shop in SF. We didn’t initially set out to create a company. We shared a common frustration that Bitcoin didn’t offer any incentive for normal people to use it, and we had a hunch that we could use blockchain escrows to liquidate Amazon gift cards and deliver great deals. Our hunch proved to be correct - we transacted over $4.5M and saved users almost a million dollars.

Today, I’m excited to announce the expansion our marketplace with Purse Merchants! Businesses will be able to sell directly on Purse, the world’s largest consumer marketplace for Bitcoin. Trezor, Ledger, KangerTech, among others, will go live on our site this week.
