Server: 8.8.8.8
Address: 8.8.8.8#53

Non-authoritative answer:

I sent it 2x1 PMP in hopes that it would "stake small" to keep the chain fed

Thanks guys, I've finally managed to sync up again and confirm 100% of my PMP balance which I've now redeemed for 2GIVE!

I'll keep my node going for a few more days in case there are more stragglers.

I have 2 connections but can't sync now, can people fire up their PMP clients to help people finish the swap?
65  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [PMP] PreminePlus : 2GIVE CONVERSION OFFER ENHANCED w/CAVEAT on: May 08, 2016, 02:47:49 AM
I like the idea, but it would be difficult to do a valuation of the coin as its not being traded in any exchanges now.
Could you tell us some rough figures you have in mind for the reverse merger?

I like the idea too, but PMP might be a little more valuable than 1:1.

"The Worth of a Thing is the Price it Will Bring"

I'm totally willing to wait and see -- but PMP isn't tradable anywhere -- and as far as I can tell the chain and engine itself is broken and needs some significant time and energy to fix it.  There's too much friction in the chain to make it useful IMHO, which is why I designed 2GIVE as a true hybrid POW/POS model.

What possible compensation could/would this community offer a developer for their time and effort?

The last market cap I saw for PMP put the whole base at around $2,500, no??

I could see burning up 20-30 hours tuning PMP up (and in fact I've dropped 3-4 so far in addition to putting two wallets online in the cloud) at $150/hr that would be worth more than tokens themselves.

Don't get me wrong, I completely understand your sentiment around wanting to believe they are worth more :-)

Right now our two linux wallets and our windows wallet show:

    "blocks" : 123422,

Tell ya what when I can see that coins can actually get transferred and confirm (thanks jalmari for the 1 PMP to our PHrG5LGWvS6f4nKfjRbVQELvGpKR8vsrRJ address) -- I'll consider enhancing the offer.

If that can happen in the next few hours I'll bump the pre-Bittrex swap valuation to 1:10  (PMP:2GIVE) as a reward for joining the 2GIVE ecosphere early.

If jalmari's generous send cannot confirm in that amount of time, the 1:1 offer will stand once those coins have actually confirmed.

Anyone who wants to participate should PM me with their Give* address so that I can create an individual PMP address to track the send and confirmations.

We'll run the PMP wallets for a week after Bittrex opens -- to prove that we have a viable means of exchange.  If no one here want's to do the swap, then we'll shut the infrastructure down and focus on bringing another coin into the fold.

Thank you very much for your time, help getting our wallets online, and consideration of our exchange offer.

Sincerely,

David V Duccini

Thanks for that reply! I think 1:10 is generous, and should be sufficient to get most PMP hodlers to move over to 2GIVE, so thanks for putting that offer on the table. It's very difficult to 'value' a coin like PMP - at one time things looked extremely promising, but then some key personnel left ... and here we are, waiting for 'people' to return, which at this stage looks unlikely. I have the feeling there are a few people still following PMP after more than two years, so that's probably the 'value' 2GIVE gets from any swap - some rusted on crypto enthusiasts with +2 years of experience in the cryptospere. I'm in for the swap to 2GIVE!

I'll send you my 2GIVE address, and if you send me your PMP address I'll try and send you a coin to test the PMP chain. I'm still staking with no problems, but I honestly haven't sent a PMP in ages.

thanks
66  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [PMP] PreminePlus : 2GIVE CONVERSION OFFER on: May 07, 2016, 02:09:34 AM
Definitely give it a try. In case there is new dev we can always hard fork and swap all users except of Nullu (if he doesn't pop up) and then have some bounty available for the new dev from the remaining new coins. So technically we can offer some bounty, the amount may be subject to public discussion. The problem is to find someone.

I'd like to cordially invite you all to consider a "reverse-merger" into 2GIVE

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=741714.0

The whitepaper/value proposition is here:

http://bit.ly/2GiveCoin

With daily updates posted on FB:

https://www.facebook.com/projectgivecoin/

A "reverse merger" would essentially mean establishing a valuation and then asking an exchange to facilitate a coin-swap from PMP:2GIVE

We are planning something similar for a couple of other thinly supported ALTS.

If anything, we'd welcome the additional help with our "air drop" that is going on right now.

Thanks for your time and consideration.

Wait, we need to CLAIM AGAIN?!?

Yes.

important question seems to me - there will be no deadlines to claim the IOTA, can you confirm?
I am pretty sure that I already have claimed my IOTA, but I am on holdiay and have forgooten the original procedure coz it changed and reversed so many times-
this is really confusing...

can we define "claim"? does this mean generating a new seed, or something else?
68  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: IOTA on: April 09, 2016, 05:21:22 AM
At this point it's impossible to accurately account for the value of the "double pledges" because nobody knows at what price the Iotas will be bought for in the "Deal".

As for the foundation being created or not, I don't understand why the issue is so black and white. Surely a partially funded foundation is still worth having. I mean if we can reach 30,000,000 Iotas that is roughly equivalent to 1000 BTC at recent exchange rates. That's a great start in my opinion. Most crypto projects could only dream of having that much funding at such an early stage.

And I understand why David would want to collect mostly Iotas for the foundation because their value most closely relates to the value of the project/organization but I definitely think holding part of the funds in BTC is not only beneficial, for price fluctuations, but necessary because we will collect more funds that way.

Our method of contribution is also not so black and white. For example, when this all becomes more real and there is really an address to send to to make the deal happen, I will probably increase my contribution. Then, when I am compensated (at a price yet unknown) I will donate most of my proceeds to the foundation. If I'm very happy with the deal I may donate all of my proceeds. If the deal doesn't quite measure up to my expectations I may donate 70% of my proceeds. Either way most of the money stays within the Iota value system, which I think is important.

Good post! I think if donations cover foundation membership, and that membership has some benefits, then the target will be reached easily.  Is the goal to have full-time paid staff working in the foundation? How much I donate (once there's an address) will depend on the structure of the foundation, so before we know that it's hard to pledge for something unknown, even though I'm supportive of the foundation in a general sense.
69  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: IOTA on: April 09, 2016, 05:15:21 AM

As I said, I can donate 100% from 3 500 000 IOTA in BTC, it's my pledge for Big Deal, for the Foundation.

That's a generous offer! What iota:btc exchange rate are you using to calculate '100% from 3 500 000 IOTA in BTC'?

What is the current price of IOTA?

When will be second wallet distributed for Batl? How are things progressing? Currently Batl network is working very well and block times are blazing fast.

Staking works well so far. Is there a way to recombine small blocks? It looks like blocks split in two and get smaller and smaller over time. I prefer to have a minimum block size, or ability to recombine automatically if possible.

75  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Qora | POS | Assets | Names | Polls | Automated Transactions | Social Network on: April 05, 2016, 10:45:34 AM
I'm not a big fan of Microsoft, and I don't care one way or another whether Qora gets added to the Azure BaaS system, but can you guys with the crazy conspiracy theories provide a little bit of evidence as to what the fuck you're actually concerned about?

I'm concerned Azure is a tactic of MS to centralize the diverse crypto infrastructure we have now into a mega server farm platform they control, similar to what large shopping Malls and giant retailers have done to independent store owners. I see people like Blythe Masters and the big banks trying to do the same basic thing to the whole 'blockchain' concept itself - they want to control things, own things, things that should be open, because openness threatens their monopoly power & profits. They don't care about anything but profits, but what we have with decentralization can make a big difference in the world. These are the type of people who want to patent everything they can get their hands on, so they can 'own' basic knowledge and make $$. I hate that!
76  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Qora | POS | Assets | Names | Polls | Automated Transactions | Social Network on: April 05, 2016, 10:26:17 AM

As I mentioned in my post, we will be able to reach major corporations, banks, and other institutional players by getting on Azure. Also, by getting on Azure, we will have a lot more chance to get picked up by major news outlets like CNBC and get the press time and recognition we deserve.

Having said that, I recognize this is a decision that must be made by the entire community because this move will affect the value of all your investment. Therefore, I'd like to take this opportunity and urge everyone to withdraw your Qora from the exchanges and participate in the vote.

You can participate in the poll by casting your vote via the decentralized voting system in Qora client (Voting tab), and you can monitor the progress of the poll here: http://qora.co.in:9090/index/blockexplorer.html?poll=%20do%20you%20want%20qora%20to%20join%20microsoft%20azure%20baas%3F

As mentioned previously, the poll will run for 2 weeks and close on 15th of April. You, as a Qora holder, now have a chance to direct the destiny of Qora, so please vote confidently. Smiley Happy voting, everyone!

It's so great the Qora coin holders have the chance to vote on this MAJOR issue. Ask yourself this, if Qora gets into 'bed' with MS & Azure, do you think Microsoft will let us 'vote' on other important issues? NO, of course not, they will want to control things their way, and in any disputes they'll bully Qora community into getting whatever they want.

Microsoft does not care about decentralisation, so vote NO, and keep Qora independent!

What the everloving fuck are you talking about? What's with all the fear-mongering and tinfoil hat talk about M$ taking over Qora and controlling future development? First off, Microsoft doesn't give one or two shits about Qora. Second, there is absolutely no control handed over to Microsoft for getting Qora added as a BaaS; they get rights over what you put on their github repo and servers, i.e. a script that sets up Qora and starts syncing the blockchain. Third, if you're going to make outrageous claims, at least provide some evidence; all the people on this thread shouting about turning control over to Microsoft have supplied exactly zero relevant links backing up their (outrageous) claims of Microsoft pursuing control or adversarial legal action against Qora.

I'm not a big fan of Microsoft, and I don't care one way or another whether Qora gets added to the Azure BaaS system, but can you guys with the crazy conspiracy theories provide a little bit of evidence as to what the fuck you're actually concerned about?

Sorry you think my doubts about Microsoft's intentions towards Azure and crypto currencies is fear-mongering. I'll plead guilt to 'doubt-mongering' though, and those doubts make me vote NO. I can see the attraction of being on Azure, but if every other coin is doing it, isn't the fact that Qora isn't a good marketing tactic? Qora is the 'independent' coin, beholden to nobody but the coin holders and users.

I also believe CIYAM's  development of AT has kept this project on life support long enough for us to be even having this discussion at all. Without CIYAM's involvement I think we'll likely be heading back to crypto obscurity, just at the moment we're finally getting some momentum. If CIYAM was for for Azure then maybe I would think otherwise, but he obviously thinks something similar to myself.

So ... make the case why Qora without CIYAM on Azure is better than what we have now? We're doing OK now, so why the rush? What are the alternatives to Azure we can consider? Is there an option for another independent provider to provide similar services? MS did start in a garage after all, are young turks with big dreams still working in garages in 2016? I'd prefer to be working with Bill Gates circa mid 70's to what he became in later years.
77  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Synereo on: April 05, 2016, 01:11:06 AM
Synereo is the new ripple.  Mostly controlled by devs, incredibly inflated market cap.  Current buyers are going to get destroyed.

Synereo has a more professional public image than most alt coins, like Ripple, and lots of coins still to distribute, like Ripple. That is true. The conclusion that current buyers will get destroyed doesn't follow though. Marketcap of 20M is still peanuts compared to the potential of elevator pitch 'decentralized facebook'. Even if Synereo fails I see it going a lot higher than 30k, so current buyers probably wont get destroyed but might sell for good profit.
