61  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: DigitalCoin | Multi-algorithm Cryptocurrency Founded in 2013. on: December 23, 2017, 05:55:30 PM
This thread is reopened and the OP is updated with all the current information. It will once again serve as the DGC thread on Bitcointalk.

Good to see you're back Baritus! I'm always hesitating a bit when a complete stranger has updated a wallet. However, now I see you listed the newest version of the wallet in the OP of this topic, I think I should give it a try. Smiley

Lomtax has done well and I look forward to working with him Smiley.

Good to hear that.  Cheesy

My Security Software however thinks something is wrong with the new wallet. Can someone verify that it's safe to use the new wallet? I've never had a safety warning like that before using a wallet.. (and I use many).

Traders are blind thinking this can go 4 fold vertical as it is. No FUD, just wonder how far whales with their bots are ready to go. Dump is inevitable, when hodlers will realise they can become millionaires already atm. Or.... almost all the supply is in hands of whales.

The price keeps increasing. Every day I think it somehow has to stop, but overall it keeps increasing and increasing. Let's see what the price is going to do tomorrow. Besides that, I really expect some of the hodlers / owners to dump most of their coins soon though. But the question will always be: when?!
64  Local / Nederlands (Dutch) / Re: Mijn aankopen/verkopen ( Portfolio van 30 coins ) on: December 23, 2017, 02:08:00 PM
Leuk!

Goedemiddag Nederlandstalige Bitcointalkers,

66  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Feathercoin [FTC] on: December 23, 2017, 10:57:16 AM
You know what this coin needs?  To be accepted by online and offline merchants.  The idea of using bitcoin for purchases like on Overstock is a novelty now instead of reality due to the fees and backlog of transactions.  This is where altcoins can shine; actually being useful as a currency.

Yeah how about you get overstock to accept feathercoin lol. In the mean time I'll stay excited about development.

If history repeats itself, and it often does, next week will be the big pump. If you look at the weekly chart on bittrex, the patterns are almost the exact same as last summer's pump to 18500 satoshi. We could recieve quite a Christmas present!

If segwit is really coming to feathercoin the market hasn't reacted yet!

And, because of the last line of your reply, I think it is a good idea to stack up some more FTC though Smiley. When I look at the charts for the last 3 months, I see an 130% increase. That is great! I don't mind when the same applies for the next 3 months. Honestly, I really think this going to happen.

70  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DOGE] Dogecoin - very currency many coin - v1.10.0 on: March 01, 2017, 02:32:01 PM
The most constant cryptocurrency ever

I love DOGE

Maybe it would be better constant going up , but it´s a real thing , it´s the most constant.

Market cap for DOGE is almost a straight line - Its great to have a bit of stability in such a volatile arena =)

It is straight line, because DOGE is dead,no heartbeats any more

What appears to be dead now, doesn't have to be dead later on Wink.

But indeed, I agree with you on that straight line.
71  Economy / Economics / Re: How to save money. on: August 10, 2016, 10:23:52 PM
just put your bitcoins in a cold storage or on a trezor wallet and thats it

Will that "save" money?

It is a way of investing for sure. As I believe in Bitcoin, I guess it's a great way to invest. You still have to buy the Bitcoins before you can "save" and store them though. (or mine them). If you see it the way that you "save" them as you already own them, you're right. Cold storage and/or Trezor is a great way to go then!

I think we've all experienced already that "saving" or "storing" BTC on exchanges is not recommended at all. Be smart, don't give the odds the chance to get hold of your Bitcoins: don't risk to loose them!
72  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: GRAND COIN - 1 GRAND PER BLOCK and SUPER BLOCKS released TODAY 13/07/13 on: July 28, 2016, 12:13:44 AM
Does anyone know if this coin is listed somewhere ?

I'm not sure about it yet, as I'm not really following all the updates and developments in the e-currency world. It was on Cryptsy though, but as you will probably know, that exchange is down now. A few weeks ago I still succeed to synch the wallet (FYI, I haven't tried to do it again now) Smiley.
73  Economy / Economics / Re: How to save money. on: July 28, 2016, 12:11:27 AM
It is better to use your bitcoins as digital currency than paper wallet because once your bitcoins is online and stored in the blockchain you can easily cash out if you need it for emergencies and that is the best thing using bitcoins.

Your savings however, if you wanted it safer you have to put in the bank as only investment should be put in the blockchain.

It's still better to have fiat savings rather than bitcoin alone since internet are not present all the times. So just in case you need in an emergency you don't need to log on with your device just to execute withdrawals of your coins. And besides, withdrawals of bitcoin are not that instant in most of the cases per country.

If you look at savings that way, storing some money in your house appears to be the best way (as ATM's might go offline & banks may go bankrupt). However, in the latter situation, a particular currency might not be worth much anymore. Maybe storing gold is better in that situation. (Or Bitcoin, but yes, this has some downsides too in particular situations like that). All possibilities do have advantages and disadvantages.
74  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Re: [ANN] Applecoin - Now on BTC38.com, Surpasses 5 Million Market Cap. on: May 12, 2016, 04:27:51 PM
Appearently this coin (thus the v1 / Original one) is still alive as I just find out my wallet is synching again.

Does anyone have news about this coin? Are there still active exchanges?

(I'm not talking about the V2 one; https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=729125.20, I don't think that one has been very alive at all).
75  Other / Off-topic / Re: Why war is good on: April 03, 2016, 09:02:23 PM
Even those people who join the services for a career, they dont want war either.
Maybe with one exception, those who want to war have a screw loose.
Not forgetting the profiteers.

They join because they believe in the good cause of their work. No one wants to join an army which is fighting opponents you do not want to fight.
76  Economy / Economics / Re: Is it better to save money or invest it? on: March 24, 2016, 07:54:20 PM
Is it better to save money in bank or invest it online, in real estate or maybe gold?

i think it is really good to invest not matter where, better than just keep them

and if you can, don't invest in gold or silver, but invest in bitcoins because their price will rise this year for sure so you can't lose, just win money

If you decide to invest, spread your investment. Categorize the possible investments you like into categories such as "no risk" / "very low risk", "low risk", "high risk", "very high risk". They decide what you want to spend in. Investing in Bitcoin might be a good idea indeed, but I won't invest everything into it. I would categorize BTC in the "high risk" category I guess..

Real estate might also be a good investment. Currently here in The Netherlands, I think there is a quite good possibility to step in investing real estate (house prices are rising and rising, probably also because of the cheap possibility to loan money).

78  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [DGC] Digitalcoin 3.0 | Multi-algorithm, Improved Blockchain Storage | RELEASED! on: February 12, 2016, 11:50:16 PM
I think it's good to see still new pools and even exchanges arise for DigitalCoin. I still own a great stake of my cryptocurrency in DigitalCoin (most of all my altcoins for sure).

80  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Is mining dead ? on: November 03, 2015, 02:44:39 PM
At some point gear is obsolete though.  Look at like BFL minrig... that thing even "free" I would be surprised if many are still running.   One day A1's have to hit a obsolete point even at cheap electricity.

So far I think there are a ton in china running at cheap electricity.  But the recent price raise for sure put more life into A1's.

Yes! I think A1's now has a purpose to play in mining and I think bitcoin will still increase up to Nov. 5 I wish, hehe it is good to mine this time stock more and more bitcoin in the coming halving and wish it will increase Grin

This increase no doubt kept the A1's mining.  With cheap electricity gear stay's on the network a long time.  And in china I think there are sizable amounts of A1's still mining away in some data centers.

Having it's hard to say what will happen.  I'm just happy for how its doing now

As long as the energy is cheap (or even free somethimes), it is even profitable to keep those miners running. Especially now the value of the BTC is increasing and increasing.

Remind that mining with A1's for some people might not seem to be profitable nowadays (due to electricity costs), but if the value of BTC keeps increasing, it might turn out that mining nowadays was profitable though. (Yes, they could also spent the money directly on BTC instead of electricity in this case).
