61  Economy / Speculation / Re: What if there is no crypto bull run for next 10 years ? on: September 21, 2023, 04:36:13 PM
TBH Bitcoin is much more than just having a price tag attached to it, however keeping it on topic, I'll tell you something. In a matter of a decade and 3 years more, BTC that was not worth even a cent is currently about $26.5k and had an ATH of nearly $69k. Now, just think that if you've got the appetite to hold BTC for that long for straight 13 years ahead (as you said you believe in BTC's future), then not giving a shit to BTC's price till then should be your motive. It only bothers to spot traders because futures and margin traders know they can make great profits even when BTC falls down.
62  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Don't Just HODL But HODL Wisely and Securely on: September 21, 2023, 04:07:59 PM
Even today, the best way to hodl your btc is storing it either on cold wallets or by downloading the Bitcoin core wallet application with complete blockchain, it is a highly secured wallet IMHO. And after that, I count Electrum and Mycelium to be one of the top scoring wallets when it comes to providing security. There are some wallets which generate a new address after each transaction, I also like them but I cannot have the private key of those addresses which is why my first choice would be Bitcoin core only.
63  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Never gamble in front of your kids. on: September 21, 2023, 03:57:11 PM
--snip--
I wonder if those card games that children play on old basic windows operating system before was once motivated those children to do gambling.

Card games?
I don't think those card games are being used in casino games for any purpose because those games were for fun.

In general, don't do anything you don't want your kids to try.
This includes getting drunk, smoking, taking drugs, swearing, being aggressive towards other people, fighting, abuse animals... Kids learn by imitating you so you can expect them to try all the things you do with their friends and other kids at school. You kick your dog, don't be amazed if a kid goes too far with it and beats a neighbor's dog to death.

You're correct. And as I already mentioned later, she was sleeping while I was gambling, but I don't know when she woke up and started watching me playing that game as it was late night. However, I believe that I should have played it somewhere else so that there would not have been any chance she would have noticed it. I'm taking utter care now whenever I gamble (I hardly do it nowadays so not an issue TBH).
64  Economy / Gambling / Re: BitcoinCasinos.com - The Best Comparison of Crypto Casinos on: September 20, 2023, 11:14:55 PM
Hi bitcoincasinos and welcome to Bitcointalk, nice to see more and more review sites here so that newbies gain enough confidence before signing up on any casino and depositing there. However, Iike to point out that I wish to see some more categories to select like minimum deposit/withdrawal, time for deposits and withdrawals, sportsbet only and/or casino only, etc.

Also, are there some perks available for your visitors?
I mean any promotions or bonuses (most likely free spins) for us if we come to your site?
65  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: BNB ? on: September 20, 2023, 10:52:29 PM
Lol skyrocket?
I just hope it doesn't get under $200 or huge liquidations will take place. There were rumors about BNB going to get dumped just like FTT as due to some issues with the US regulatory body, Binance started selling users' BTC and other assets internally to purposefully save BNB from getting drowned which is not acceptable at all. I hope this does not happen or the confidence will break and Binance will go broke.
66  Economy / Economics / Re: It ain't meant to be easy on: September 20, 2023, 09:56:42 PM
Merits on this forum are not less than a degree that takes a specific time for anyone to achieve. A lot of necessary contribution, a small help could help generate you merits for what you did. It is a reward for your timely and factual comment which really helped the questioner with his query. Nothing comes so easy, but there are some brave and knowledgeable users here who post to the best of their knowledge to achieve this degree of being called a true Bitcoiner, and also gain lots of merits for the same. I love the nature of current signature campaigns too that need a big number of merits from users to provide them competitive rewards in the industry according to their ranks here.
67  Economy / Speculation / Re: Michael Saylor predicts Bitcoin can go to $5 million? on: September 20, 2023, 09:37:23 PM
Remember this?
https://cointelegraph.com/news/john-mcafee-doubles-down-predicts-1-mln-btc-bets-his-dk-on-it

I bet that these predictions are truly baseless or else BTC would have at least crossed $100k during the recent pump based on many factors, which it didn't. TBH, I believe that taking rational decisions on trading and buying BTC should be advised to new investors instead of luring them with such insane numbers which we know that it's literally not easy to attain.
68  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What Do you think Satoshi Would Think About Today's Bitcoin? on: September 20, 2023, 08:22:53 PM
I won't talk about markets, but BTC definitely is centralized as being controlled by various big institutions now, as a huge chunk of BTC is now held by them and the dream of evenly distribution of BTC has failed and only the riches are now running the markets and deciding the value of BTC currently.

But TBH, it's neither the institutions' fault nor the retailers'.
We wanted adoption, so I can say that we wanted it, we got it.

A decade ago when I started using this forum (and even knowing about BTC before that), I'd say that it's our failure that we didn't recognise the power of blockchain technology and didn't take BTC seriously, so now crying about centralization and all that shit isn't worth it when we only didn't give a damn about what we already knew years ago. Opportunities don't stay forever, but yeah they do come and go, and the cycle goes on.
69  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Learning from those who have experience on: September 20, 2023, 06:54:05 PM
Well, let me speak about myself.
I was badly addicted in both gambling and trading (yeah I know this is gambling related thread so I'll only discuss my gambling journey).
I was a very consistent gambler with mixed results which actually never bothered me to quit gambling. I did great for around 2-3 years since 2013, but later on, I started losing a lot and even incurred a debt which later on, got bigger and bigger. However, I managed to repay it through gambling only but with some fixed amounts to gamble each week with, and a fixed % after which I used to withdraw immediately and repaid. This helped me gain my credibility back and I started meditating a lot, went out with friends and gave a lot of time to books so that I remain busy with something and don't feel like I should gamble. Later on, I've made myself stubborn enough to only gamble once a month and stopped doing it the way I used to do. I had goals and I can proudly say that I achieved them through decent gambling, not like an addicted one but as an average gambler.
70  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Never gamble in front of your kids. on: September 20, 2023, 03:00:24 PM
It was actually, my daughter was sleeping besides me and I was playing the blackjack game with 20% volume on as my mic got crashed by my daughter on that very same day. I had some funds on my gambling account so I decided to play, didn't see that she got awakened and was watching me playing it. I didn't do it intentionally but it was all by mistake (the reason I was besides her is because, she doesn't sleep without me and I made sure that she slept before I started playing). However, tough luck she saw it.

@stadus She's just 6 years old, what should I educate her about gambling, my dear friend?
71  Economy / Gambling discussion / Never gamble in front of your kids. on: September 20, 2023, 11:58:32 AM
Hey gamblers' community, hope you're all doing great.
I wanted to convey my message here that gambling in front of our kids may put adverse effects on their growing minds and they may also take the wrong path and start gambling (either by asking you personally for funds or by stealing it in order to fulfill their gambling cravings).

I'm sharing this because I saw this issue with my kiddo who was once watching me gamble at a website playing blackjack and she started asking me more about the game. Then one day, she wanted to play it herself and asked me if she can go for it and I said "no, it's not your legal age to go for such games". So, it's better to keep our kiddos away from gambling and let them focus on their studies, else it'd actually ruin everything for the whole family if the kid takes the wrong path.
72  Other / Off-topic / Re: Keeping your gambling habit a secret. on: September 20, 2023, 11:24:02 AM
TBH, I don't give a damn when it comes to sharing with people about my gambling habits but I only do that with my friends as I know I can trust them that they won't speak about the same to others even if we fight with each other some day. However, keeping your gambling habits a secret has nothing to do with not having proud on what we are doing because you are respecting your rules towards privacy and you're not breaking it by not saying anything about your gambling habits to anyone, which is also a good thing to do.
73  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I took a proposal to my State Governor to accept Bitcoin Technology on: September 19, 2023, 10:43:17 PM
That's crazy AF.
Here, we all just keep murmuring about adoption and all and you guys are actually doing something in order to not just let BTC be adopted in the place alone, but also be taught to the students so that they understand the technology and divert their time and energy into crypto as well in order to wide-handedly welcome this industry and take their economy to the next level. Hats off to you buddy for what you did (and are still doing) and kept BTC ahead of everything. 🙏
74  Economy / Speculation / Re: What is your anticipation on bitcoin market capitalization as for 2030 on: September 19, 2023, 09:47:05 PM
I don't think anybody in this world can ever determine the size of marketcap BTC may hold at any point of time in the near future or later. The reason behind this is because BTC is a totally speculative asset and if a single institutional investor decides to dump it in order to save itself from going broke, not only will that firm but others who are in crypto will also suffer. I don't think there will be anything new like mining when we are talking about BTC as its supply is limited and nobody would ever want to change it (for which hard forks are available). However, when I see people comparing BTC to Gold (gold's mcap is nearly $13 trillion), then $13 trillion/21 million BTC = ~$620k

When we talk about BTC touching a million, then this is possible, however I wonder who will buy BTC when it reaches this point or even more  Wink
75  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The best way to use fingerprint to unlock your bitcoin wallet on Android on: September 19, 2023, 08:55:30 PM
I've also seen some wallets allowing face unlock, whereas fingerprint unlocks have been there since about 3-5 years IIRC. TBH, it's a 50-50 for me as, while it is convenient enough to just open up our wallet through the tap of our fingerprint instead of typing the wallet password or pin, it actually exposes us to the risk of getting robbed easily if the bad guys near you know that you're using crypto and if they ever see you using your fingerprint to open it up. Some wallets provide an extra layer of security by giving you an option to either add 2fa to your wallet when sending funds or just keep using fingerprint, and at that time too if you choose your fingerprint, then my friend, you're putting yourself in trouble.
76  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Paxos recovers its $500,000 'fat finger' Bitcoin transaction fee on: September 19, 2023, 08:33:55 PM
All is well that ends well, a perfect saying that goes with this situation. I never thought that they'd just return it so quickly as I've also seen some instances taking place before, but only in a few cases did the miners return the fees, whereas in other cases they kept it and used it.

Technically, miners have the right not to give it back because it's the fault of sender and not the miners, miners did their job, simple. I'm shocked to see these big names involved in the transaction and how could they commit such a silly mistake.  Grin
77  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Crypto betting on: September 18, 2023, 05:30:21 PM
@OP Glad to see you here, buddy.
I wonder why do you wish to gamble online when major parts of Europe have open sportsbetting shops where you can place the bets by buying some tickets and then wait for the results? It's actually fun waiting there and watching the game till it ends.
However, I'd say that sportsbet.io had been one of the best sportsbetting gambling websites online which you should try. Their limits aren't low TBH and they allow you to withdraw almost instantly after wagering requirements are met. Should give it a shot as it's actually a big name and a huge competition to stake as well Wink
78  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are You Tax Efficient With Your Gambling Habbits? on: September 18, 2023, 05:57:45 AM
The best way is to stay away from doing anything to the sleeping giant (lion) or else you may get f**ked up by the government. TBH I don't report anything because the taxes are way too high here in my country, but yeah I do pay taxes (but I don't show that I gamble and make/lose some money). However, I'm hardly gambling these days due to limited funds on hands so I keep myself under control and only gamble once a month or sometimes in 2 months.
79  Economy / Services / Re: [CFNP] 0xBET - Crypto Casino | Sig Campaign | Up to 0.0025 BTC/W on: September 14, 2023, 09:08:45 PM
Hi Icopress, with a sorry to say, I'd like to convey that I'm currently accepted into a new campaign and I've already worn its signature and avatar. This is because I want my loan to be repaid as quickly as possible, I hope you'll understand my situation and this won't make any difference between us as true Bitcoiners in the future. Thanks for giving me this opportunity to work with you, however, I'm now leaving this slot for someone better who deserves it. Smiley
