61  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why I went all in on Xtrabytes. on: June 09, 2017, 04:41:01 PM
I truely believe while Bitcoin will always be number one there is a need for greater security. Thats why I went all in on Xtrabytes as it seems like the only coin that solves the flaws of POW and POS (51% attack). In time that will be I believe the only thing that matters in crypto ie security. Which is why it is almost a definite top 10 project. I could be wrong but I doubt it.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1864397.0

How many XBY do you need for a static node and which exchange do you think is the best to get XBY at? And what wallet do you keep it in? Thanks.

Unfortunately the major liquidity is on Yobit (yeah I know) for now. If you do buy there I recommend getting your coins off there as soon as possible. They have wallets I use Windows and OSX.

Hey listen whatever you do look at the coin yourself and don't take mine or any word on it.

Ok thanks, what about the second question, how many coins do you need for a master node and is it worth it?

PS: I'm synching the windows wallet right now, it worked out of the box to be honest that's a good sign i have strugled with bunch of wallets and config files and all that crap this one looks like it's going to work and I made a new address will try to send some coins. Warning CCEX charges 100 XBY to withdrawl.

I don't have a master node as I bought after the deadline. I think it was 500,000xby back when the coin was cheaper. There is talk about a second round Static nodes but I really haven't found the info about it and i think its not decided yet. I'm a bit cold on getting a second round node as I think it doesn't have the benefit of receiving service fees they plan like storage fees just transactions fees which isn't so interesting to me. You have to look into yourself i'm afraid.

I hate to bang on this again but even though I did start this thread there are 2 things I really now try to avoid, online arguments and heavy investment advice, I used to do both and it hasn't always been good. I always say, research everything yourself first hand. All crypto investments have risk and this has plenty. Otherwise good luck.  Smiley

I do agree that XBY has a load of potential, but I prefer to diversify my portfolio && to never go all-in. Never invest what you can't lose  Wink

I really mean my speculative investments. I still hold some btc

70  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: HUUUGE CRASH COMING on: March 18, 2017, 07:28:14 PM
It's actually very likely. The explosion in Bitcoin was based on the fact Chinese were looking to move funds away from gov. So now China Central Bank is cracking down and making it compulsory to register real identity.

This also screws Dash, which was hoping the anominity thing would get past China wall.....it won't..at least for Chinese.

Conclusion expect a massive crash in coming days.
Well dash is still on the up and up while Bitcoin is down.

Come back in a week.
71  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: HUUUGE CRASH COMING on: March 18, 2017, 07:05:32 PM
Only option is to move to USD tethered coIn for next few weeks of find very undervalued projects that havent been caught up in this bull run.

A few I like are Komodo, Incent, Coval and Counterparty. Think under the radar but great projects to seed into.
72  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [COVAL] Circuits Of Value - Loyalty and Rewards Platform [LOYYAL] on: December 20, 2016, 06:16:20 PM
Hello.
We're an exchange livecoin.net
We don't receive any notifications from developers regarding issues and current status of COVAL. We ask developers to confirm current the status of COVAL, do we have to close deposits/withdrawals due to any issues with coin/node/exlorer? We would also ask developers to notify us in case of any issues with COVAL. Our email support@livecoin.net

If I remember correctly it was Livecoin that took it upon itself to add Coval rather than Coval requesting an add so surely the onus is on Livecoin to contact and maintain communication with Coval not the other way around. Shannon Code has said on slack he has had no communication from you guys. Slack is where you will find him.

Im starting to get the impression that nexgencoin is just a troll.

I'm getting the impression you are a shrill and probably a sock puppet of the 'developer'

This whole set up of profit share looks a lot like Gamebet which was a scam. They looked legit too, with a beta site etc...beware.

What that a ico too.

Yes it was a ico, was esports betting but I dont trust any of the gambling sites or coins because they are filled with bad dudes so I never invested (thank the lord). I dont see a correlation here though. I mean, profit share? 100 coins do that.  If it was a gambling thing or a esports thing that I could see more in common. Anyway. I cant imagine this to be a scam with 2 different escrows and that multi level tier thing they need to accomplish before getting their money.

Most  of the goals are easily done, 50% will just be realizing the wallet and updating the site. They will be long gone before you guys see any profit share. Think for a second of you had a great site that was likely to make a ton of money would you sell it off for a few btc?

I don't see them selling it off. I see it as raising money to build it.

Im not 100% sure im investing yet. Im going to wait closer to the end but it  looks very legit to me although it would probably be very easy to pull the wool over my eyes but I expect its not easy to do that to everyone and lost of people seem to be liking the site and enjoying it. Me included.

Watching Ching movies online is fun, especially if they don't have pop ups. But tell me this what technology are they using to convince you their site is decentralized and not some easily started centralized website?

I think the site is centralized, its the data that's decentralized.

Anyway, like I said. Im waiting and not rushing into anything. Im just going to go with the flow and see where that takes me.

If I invest and its a scam i'll lose my money, if I invest and its does well maybe I can make some. I know if the site continues to work good at the very least I'll use it to steam my movies from.

No risk there.

Actually the risk is massive. If users are the ones that are technically hosting the torrents then guess what you are now as illegal as the owners of any torrent site who usually get tracked down and arrested. You better hide you IP address better than the NSA.....

Either one of us needs to read the whitepaper again or only one does.Cheesy

From what I understand, the torrents are hosted in a distributed manner buy people who already host them so i don't think their too worried.

Its not like the dev is asking us to hold the torrents, we are just streaming as (watchers) users.

Are we not?

Dude we all know how p2p torrenting works. My point is the site with your user id and some people will probably even put their name and address hahahahaha is centralized and will be easy to find you. You technically will be hosts....good luck with that.

Just to remind you, it is illegal to publicly show a DVD even if you buy it....

I swear this is 95% chance a scam.

Bad dudes? So people who set up illegal streaming sites are the good guys?

When will this snapshot be?

On the first block after December 25 00:00:00 UTC.

Does my Bitcoin have to sit in this account I link or can I link it now and then Remove my Bitcoin?

No it doesn't, you can link your address now, link it later, fund it now or fund it later. All should be done before December 24 at 23:59:59 UTC to ensure your linked address is part of the snapshot.

So what is stopping someone linking a load of btc then moving it to another btc address and doing it again....and again?
