701  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / As a community we should get behind this. on: July 18, 2015, 10:47:59 AM
The whole Bitcoin and alt community needs to get behind this app.

https://mobile.twitter.com/getgemsorg?lang=en-gb

The fact is it is a great way to show friends and family Crypto who will never download a wallet, remember a long password or stake or mine some coins, it's the perfect gateway for the complete newbie to crypto. Instead of fighting turf wars this small community should support this for the bigger picture of making crypto mainstream.
702  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mainstream Adoption on: July 18, 2015, 10:30:30 AM
I've tried many times to tell the a Bitcoin purists that this app is going to take crypto mainstream but still they resist. It has a Bitcoin wallet integrated and you can send btc like a text message. The Bitcoin community should be getting 100% behind this app. IMO

Anyone have any idea about what the Telegram big news might be?
706  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How many wallets/users do coins actually have? on: July 17, 2015, 05:43:40 PM
I'm guessing not many in the alt section want to deal with reality as fantasy is what they are living on right now.....

It could save time of posting and simplify understanding and discussing.

Like I said gemz isn't really a crypto, its the payment system within an app. Bitcoin is my only offer as a Crypto we need.
708  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / How many wallets/users do coins actually have? on: July 17, 2015, 02:23:58 PM
I'm not going to deceive anyone I have a positive angle on Getgems.

https://mobile.twitter.com/getgemsorg?lang=en-gb

that's my disclaimer done. Getgems has about 10,000 wallets now, hopefully a lot more as time goes on. But what my challenge to other altcoins is how many actual wallets and users do you actually have?

If you know, post roughly the number. My hunch is most don't have that much, possible exceptions might be Dogecoin and a few others. My point is most alts only have value based on a perceived future potential cause at the moment they don't have at present the demand (users) to justify many of their prices.

So post your coins present user base. I'll makes some guesses to encourage people to post in more detail.

Bitcoin  2,000,000 wallets/users?

Dogecoin  100,000?

Dash        50,000?

Monero   20,000?

NXT     10,000?

NEM   3,000?

709  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do we really need all these crypos? on: July 17, 2015, 02:14:40 PM
I gave up on altcoins a long time ago. listening to the hype on here from coins like NEM desperately trying to convince themselves they are going to become the new economy was too hard to bear. If any coin makes it, it will be Bitcoin.

There are still good projects to invest in. I have invested in Getgems but I see the coin as a token and part of the micro economy of the app. Beyond those kind of projects, they are all worthless. IMO.

To be clear backpage didn't tell Visa to piss off but we're told to piss off and then they went with the only option they had left.

Most worrying of it all is the fact all these p&d coins released by a very few people.

Terrifying!!!!! ooohhhhhhh

Can I suggest knitting if you want a hobby to keep calm and feel safe and fuzzy.
712  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [GEMZ]|GetGems - Social Messaging App That Pays | LIVE on Android and iOS | on: July 13, 2015, 07:07:10 PM
It's over 5000!!!

Yep!

My hunch is the iOS version isn't too far behind either, so possibly we are looking at around 10,000 downloads now....its not critical viral mass but its showing signs of the early stages.

If you 100% never try then you 100% will never succeed.

so much rampage scams in this altcoin, it is now nothing but a joke clown playground.
put in your btc into any new coins and 100% it would turn to nothing in a few weeks.

No one will hold your hand. Investments take risk and intelligence, if you haven't got the stomach for both I wouldn't bother and just buy Bitcoin. Yoiu can't expect all these coins to make you rich, that's plain foolish.

Check out Getgems, its starting to go viral...just hit 5,000 downloads and probably around the same on Itunes...

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.getgemsmessenger.app&hl=en

it is not call investment, it is call scam. understand that

With your grammar that's a little hard, maybe try being humble if its your second language.

What is a scam, Getgems or the coins you mentioned?

coins i mentioned and included your

Well my friend avoiding and learning to recognise scams is part of investing, in any business you find scams and doggy deals that aren't what they claim to be. I imagine early investors in the wild west bought a lot of snake oil thinking it was legit. But we have all picked a few dogs on here and had some jerk run off with some Bitcoin, that all part of the learning process. If investments were 100% then everyone would make money.....you basically just admitted on here in your own words that you can't pick winners.

But to be honest, I lost interest in helping you cause clearly scams are not your problem your decision making skills are that lumps scam coins with a brilliant cryptocurrency business.

Something I was wondering is IF you have to tap on the link to get your daily 1 GEM, I assume so.

It made me wonder about the Airdrop and whether it is better to have to click to collect it. I can see both ways have benefits, I like the idea that people need to open the app and do something to get the gems, more interactive, forces people into the app, even an addictive element. But I also see that some might be annoyed if they don't receive Gems if they don't click to receive from say Airdrops and future advertising etc. But I guess if you want to reward actual usage then making it compulsory to daily receive coins if a great way to reward activity.

Whats great is it adds a layer to the addiction of messenger apps where people check to see who posted, i.e. people checking to get their Gemz. Its a massive plus in terms of making a compelling experience.

+ 1 coolness

do it. this will help all future plans/features for GETGEMS apps. this will also help ads in a HUGE way = more 'ad viewing time' for ads. Afterall, the ads we choose are the ones we are interested in. yes...many of us would love it to be automated instead of having to do it once/day everyday to collect the airdrop. but hey, if mobile app games like Tap Titans has done it and no one has complained about it, do it then. i mean...free GEMZ for just logging in. tap tap tap and free GEMZ! thats way faster and awesome than some Login Rewards for some MMO games.

Very interesting idea, we can definitely test it.

To be clear there might be a misunderstanding, not sure. I'm not suggesting people have to like mine their gems by tapping the screen repeatedly. What I'm discussing only is how people should receive their Airdrop or Gemz given from advertising maybe as well. My point was MAYBE its better for people have to click when prompted to receive their gems, and therefore don't receive their daily gems IF they don't open the app and click to receive. It was just opening the discussion, not a complete, you must do this cause it might have negatives to users too, say you forget to open the app for some reason you could feel negative you didn't receive your gems.

But the benefit I suggested was that like you have to click on the daily '1 Gems' everyday at the moment (I assume you have to to receive it?) it pushes people into the app on a daily basis and engages them...plus can be mildly addictive. Put simply you receive an airdrop, but you only get it if you open the app and click to receive it within the 24hrs or whatever or you lose it.....so just doing the Airdrop in the same way you have the daily 1 Gem bonus at present....basically.

We understood you well Smiley

hahah OK. Just thought it was important enough to make clear. I have bought quite a few Gems but I swear I get a kick out of clicking the daily 1 Gems bonus button, its kind of pathetic. Grin BUT I bet I wouldn't care if I open the app after a few days and see a few gems have been deposited, its not the same feeling...

I was going to post that I had a hunch the download count was speeding up looking at the twitter following ticking quicker and generally thinking the App was getting seriously Viral with the brillaint little ways you can receive Gem. My hunch was right cause we just moved to 5,000-10,000 downloads on Google Play...

5000!!!!!!!

720  Other / Meta / Re: If this app has a Bitcoin wallet under what argument does this thread get moved? on: July 13, 2015, 03:51:05 PM
Your website has annoying amount of marketing hype and fluff, and your posts are vague and assume everyone else knows what you're talking about, though that may be intentional to inflate your download numbers.

Gems are based on counterparty, while it's based on the bitcoin blockchain, this doesn't mean it's not an altcoin.

To answer the question of whether it's an altcoin, how does one convert gems to bitcoins, and how do one acquire gems using bitcoin? As far as I can tell, the only way to acquire gems is through an exchange, or in exchange for getting ads through your app, and I'm guessing one would need to sell the gems on an exchange to convert to bitcoin (though this isn't clear).

If this is the case, that is solidly in altcoin territory.

You snooze you lose. I posted to help the smart hearers. I'm glad the 'smart Mods' on here don't get..... Grin
