PoW2 gonna make Gulden more secure then bitcoin even at these prices and safe 0 confirm transactions.

SegSig more then twice as good as SegWit. This is the future right in this coin.

Remember the masses always get it wrong at the start by investing in marketing and not projects with real development. This has happened throughout history.

Nice volume on Nocks! Four times as usual.

Remember it’s sale on Nocks. Free trading, no fees this month.

https://www.nocks.com/trade/NLG-EUR

And yet, when you read a post like this https://medium.com/@nocksapp/supply-and-demand-dictates-the-value-of-gulden-ed289232df85  you know you are dealing with fucking amateurs.

This is the MaNI show, he is currently the best active developer in crypto. Evan Duffield is more an advisor now with an anonymous developer supporting Dash. Vitalik Buterin is mainly involved in presentations and not doing as much active development. The rest of the coins are a marketing show, people know these coins are scams but they don't give a fuck as long as they making money.

MaNI is heading up blockchain development for real. Just no one knows it yet outside the community.

Today I have noticed Gulden is ranked 146 on www.coinmarketcap.com

This CMC is -a- way to benchmark one coin against others. Each may decide for himself how valuable this tool is and how comparable one coin is to others.
Just for fun go to CMC, click on [Coins] and select Filter_Non-Minable, Gulden ranks differently there, for what it's worth.

The PoW reward reduction by 20% will be a welcome bonus with this already incredible update. Scrypt miners have neglected Gulden, a coin that is giving their hardware a future. 90% of the coins that were on scrypt have moved off but thanks to the Dev teams brilliant DELTA algorithm Gulden didn't need to go Full PoS, Multi Algo, Merge Mining, change algorithm etc.

PoW2 selected user testing has started. Including: Secure 1-conf transactions, witnessing, segsig. #blockchain $nlg
https://twitter.com/Gulden/status/935825115308281857

I am going to sell my Gulden at 1100 sat on bittrex later today if anyone wants to buy it up. After messaging a few people who used to be on the Gulden slack I am starting to believe that Gulden is nothing more then a prototype testing machine for bitcoin and litecoin.

It explains a lot.

1. No advertising.
2. The founder doesn't care about price.
3. Bitcoin cancelled their Segwitx2 fork, they will use the SegSig code.
4. Had SegSig and PoW2 been developed by any other coin this would be all over the crypto sites like cointelegraph, coinbase etc
5. Founder refuses to market Gulden because he has enough money and probably compromised by bitcoin/litecoin investors. Make a deal not to market Gulden and they buy up the majority of the Gulden shares so MaNI as his team becomes a unofficial dev house for bitcoin.
6. Everyone wins except for the Gulden community because as mentioned above the founder Rijk doesn't care if the price goes to 1 sat.
7. On the shares site they have removed the largest contributors and how much shares have been sold.

I wouldn't care if the coin went to 1 sat, I would still hold if they made the damn effort to advertise the work they doing. Clearly there is some hidden agenda at play.

I think this is a little far fetched...
Gulden PoW2 can not market itself before the release. Now public testing has started.
Just wait for public release and the product will start marketing itself.
I really do not think that Gulden is working for Litecoin or Bitcoin
How long would it take for Litecoin or Bitcoin to implement Segsig?
This would be a huge update and would take time. And, then that would create huge advertising for Gulden where Segsig would be running already!
I think a lot of FUD is being created from people who are scared for their investement and people who want cheap Guldens!

I have been a sucker for coins with good development instead of looking at the overall package. Crypto in 2012 - 2014 was all about innovation but it has changed to the coin with the best marketing. I like truth and most of these other projects are all about marketing and marketing is beating out coins with good development. I won't be investing in these other marketing scams once I sell my Gulden, I will only stay in bitcoin and forget about alts altogether.

I have emptied my Gulden wallet (YES I DIDN'T HAVE MY COINS ON A EXCHANGE TO TRADE) so please don't think I am being a troll, maybe my selling will force the founder to do something about marketing this coin better for the rest of you. Good luck for the future!

Sorry to see a true fan of Gulden leaving us, is that your sell order at 1100?

From the developer

Probably 2 weeks at an absolute minimum, there is no maximum as it depends on how many issues are found.

Thanks, so I guess this means roll out of phase 1 in 2018, as december is full of holidays. devs are people too and need breaks

March 2018 would be a good month to update, you can see this news had zero affect on the price and some "sell on news" movement on bittrex. Bitcoin price surge has got 100% of traders attention.
The coin deserves to be hanging with Dash on CMC but life isn't fair, devs must carry on doing what they doing.

There has to be something said for marketing. Digibyte has maintained it's price over 100sat during this bitcoin increase and they don't have any good projects coming up. Gulden on the other hand the price continues to drop with btc rising but has fantastic world altering releases ahead.
What is digibyte doing that Gulden is not besides marketing?

I don't like digibyte, I don't even like their marketing. But you got to hand it to them. They learned early not to miss deadlines, and their partnership initiatives have been aggressive.

In this respect, Rijk and gang have plenty to learn.

November is coming and going. What do we have?

With the btc price raging like it is I wonder how many people will notice. I gotta hand it to investeerder, he was right about the timing of this release being closer  to March next year.

Gulden I am holding for long term and this doesn't worry me but short term investors will avoid Gulden for now.
68  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is Gulden a good investment? on: November 25, 2017, 07:48:07 PM
Thank you Jean.Luc for the updates.

I don't know about anyone else but i grow frustrated by the day seeing Gulden hanging out in the shitcoin territory on CMC. I don't care about the price but more where Gulden is positioned compared to other coins in the ranking list. The good news is that there is some big crypto investors looking at Gulden but need confirmation on PoW2 and SegSig.
The devs have stated November public testing will begin, can anyone confirm if this is the case. What is the news on slack?
69  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is Gulden a good investment? on: November 20, 2017, 06:59:43 PM
The 24h volume on Bleutrade was $1700, that's a lot of money for a lot of people.  You know what seems to be the target demographic of Guldens, Joe 6-pack/Joey bag-o' donuts. Smiley  Sure this volume of trading isn't going to send Gulden to the moon anytime soon but for a lot of people it's a substantial amount of money. Wink
For sure Bittrex is the go to exchange for Gulden but there is a lot to be said for the direct access to/exit from the Gulden market through Guldentrader/Nocks and Litebit.  Trying to untether a crypto from bitcoins volatile price fluctuations seems difficult.  It's a long road to achieve some independency but to standalone might be the best course for survival.
I don't need more examples and price comparisons of how Bitcoin has outperformed Gulden etc, the fact remains that if Bitcoin plummets for whatever reason it might take down a lot of cryptos in its wake.

There, we agree!

No matter how much Bitcoin has outperformed Gulden, once it goes down, Gulden takes the lead, face down in the dirt!

Well I found out today that some HEAVY hitters are watching NLG but they need proof that PoW2 and SegSig is being released. Hold tight this could be a ride of a life time.
70  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is Gulden a good investment? on: November 19, 2017, 05:00:27 AM
After studying their latest whitepaper I am really excited about Gulden. Current price level feels like an interesting entry to me.

Price indeed is rediculously low in comparance what Gulden has to offer technically. 👍

Reason I don't post in the Dash announcement pages is because Dash has a good mix of innovation and marketing. This has helped it reach and stay in and out of the top 5.I have nothing to complain about with Dash.

Gulden is about to have the most innovative coin but with the lack of marketing I fear not many outside of the current community will know what is being done. Is MaNI and the dev team going to stick around if there is no exposure for the forward thinking and innovation they bringing to the table.

The central bank's picking up someone like MaNI would be the end of bitcoin and it wouldn't be the users fault , it would be the lack of marketing and frustration of Gulden not living up to it's potential. Central banks, IMF etc would be able to promote and market through 3rd party companies and MaNI's work would then be appreciated by the world but be a force on the dark side.

Rijk needs to make sure this update gets some exposure, ask the community if some of the funds can be used on marketing.
71  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is Gulden a good investment? on: November 17, 2017, 09:01:46 AM
Bitcoin has been a good store of value but any shop I walk into that accepts bitcoin say they not getting any people buying using their bitcoin and who would since the value keeps going up and up. I think Rijk wants a stable price for Gulden so people don't have to fear that when they spend their Gulden the next day it's going to be worth 20% - 100% more. Then they can buy back in the next day at a similar value.

Merchants are noticing this about Gulden and why more merchants are adding Gulden as payment method.

It does suck for people who want to make huge profits but as a currency Gulden is performing better then bitcoin as it's more stable.

Marketing of Gulden sucks but with marketing would come more price fluctuations. I don't know anymore maybe Rijk has thought about this and why the marketing is non existent.

When you google gulden you get this: "Gulden - Added value for your money" I guess by added value they don't mean added value as in financial but as practicality. Though i'm sure 99% reads the first meaning

Gulden is in a strange place, it will literally be the best coin technically but I doubt anyone will know this outside of the current community?

New Gulden for iOS update with wallet linking functionality available.
Please follow the instructions in this article.

Great update, I will test the feature later. Any reason this is another silent update? I am crying inside how good this coin is but fuck me you guys need to be a little less modest about them.  What is Gulden.com B.V, is this a new company backing Gulden?

You are free to sent it to any newsagent/crypto news site you’d like. 💪

They could start with at least tweeting about their update for godsakes, you got to admit this is very sad. I like this coin but they need help with marketing.

If this is the standard we can expect when PoW2 and SegSig is released I will have no choice but to do something.

It’s not sad, I talked to him, he is just over-causious. Wanting nothing to go wrong. He will announce the update on official channels a bit later. It’s peoples money, they are going a great lenght to bring good software.

They released to the Apple store (and is accepted), but are not confident yet that something could go wrong? Are they still testing it? And others have already reported on it (was this leaked)?

Still no announcement about the iOS update from the official team sources?

I really thought people were trolling about how bad the marketing is but this is plain terrible. The link feature is very cool but these hermits need to let people know what's going on, they can't thumb suck a update has taken place? What about users not using bitcointalk?

I'm already an early NLG adopter since a few years now... and this thing is still in the gutter... at least not where it SHOULD be if the devs hadn't rejected all the help and cooperation they could get in the past few years.

You got to think of others , you have your fill of NLG but other people also want to get in at low prices compared to other coins. I agree NLG should be a lot higher but the advantage is you getting in at a good rate. At any point in time in the future a marketing company might start buying Gulden and then the marketing problem will be solved.
77  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is Gulden a good investment? on: November 06, 2017, 08:05:36 AM
if I could advise the team I would recommend no news must be announced until after the main bitcoin hard fork is over in slightly under 9 days time.

https://en.insider.pro/analytics/2017-10-16/countdown-new-hard-fork-what-you-need-know-about-segwit2x/

EG. Beta testing starts tomorrow , don't announce it until the bitcoin hard fork is over or no one will notice the news. Play it smart because traders will be looking for another coin and will only care about news after the segwit2x fork is done.
78  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is Gulden a good investment? on: November 03, 2017, 11:30:47 AM

Every decision the devs have made always ends up with bad timing. I do acknowledge it's bad luck involved

Not bad luck. The devs have no guts. They wanted to wait and see, wait and see, wait and see. Lack of confidence in their own product offering? I don't know. They could have a lot to offer, but we never get to see it. Famine of really good news in a while, in an environment many other coins have made strong, confident moves. What signal does that send?

I have always maintained if this coin was half as good as some of these scam coins at promoting they would not be down in the dumps price wise like it is today. They have something real to offer the world but it's kept really silent. I gotta say this is where Dash beats Gulden by miles.

http://guldenbites.nl/en/2017/11/01/new-gulden-slack/

Sign up for the new Slack at Gulden.com

We have been using the Slack platform for quite some time now and it is the perfect way for us to communicate directly with the community and to provide support. In addition, many community projects and collaborations are emerging. Until now, everyone has been able to register for Slack, which offered many advantages, but unfortunately some disadvantages as well. People with the wrong intentions could easily come into contact with our members. This has been the case in recent months, as there have been several scam/phishing attempts. We have always tried to prevent this as much as possible and we have also taken various measures. Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough. Slack has contacted us and requires stricter measures. We need to know who our members are. Otherwise it won’t be possible to add new members. Fortunately, we already know most of the members, but there will be some noticeable consequences.

In the last few days we have set up a new Slack channel, for which everyone will have to register again. This registration will be done by verification, with 3 options to start with:
- through Nocks
- through Facebook
- through Linkedin

Nocks
At Nocks, we receive your email address and the status of your account (verified or not). It is only possible to sign in with a verified Nocks account. You will receive an invitation to Slack email immediately after registration.

Facebook/Linkedin
We can view your profile and we receive your e-mail address. Profiles are manually judged on authenticity and within a few hours you will receive an invitation for Slack.

So at the moment, Nocks is the fastest way to sign up for Slack. We understand that not everyone has a Nocks/Facebook/Linkedin account and will therefore gradually add multiple authentication methods.

Sign up for the new Slack at Gulden.com

Now that's a blatant lie! Slack never asked anyone to know their members and never has ordered Gulden dev's to start a new Slack. That is total BS and anyone that is involved in one or more other Slacks know it.

What is happening here is the same that happened many times before with the Gulden forums and their ANN. The dev want's to have total control over the community and now has taken this step with a new Slack to have total control over that as well. You see, in the previous slack there were too many unknown people that he had no control over. Now he gets to decide who are the "uber-" and who are the "unter-" people.

Heil Rijk!

And believe me, if they can lie about this, they will lie about other stuff too!

This last post comes across as a conspiracy theory and not something factual. I highly doubt Rijk would do this intentionally considering the coin has dropped over 60 places on CMC this year.
80  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is Gulden a good investment? on: November 02, 2017, 04:01:36 AM

GRS is making big moves today. Heading towards to top 50. No marketing just lots of development. Gulden shouldn't be delaying the release deliberately as investors are looking for good coins.

I never believed the developers when they said they've been working etc.etc.  Bloody lies. They don't have the guts to release because they want to wait and see. Sitting on their development funds doing nothing, asking for donations to do their marketing.

It's simple, don't buy the shares until they release PoW2 and SegSig or someone from the community can confirm testing has begun?

I am 100% sure they will do the update but when is the question ?
