Δηλαδή πόσα χρειάζονται; Πόσες σοβαρές εναλλακτικές υπάρχουν έναντι του Bitcoin Core;

Grin

Cheesy).

Cool

Ubuntu vs Debian debates στο adslgr).

Roll Eyes

How do they analyze Lightning?

There is no ledger/blockchain to begin with...

ps1: Monero has not been broken (highly unlikely IMHO), but they will delist it from various CEX (which proves it's an actual danger, since the bounty hasn't been claimed so far). It's still listed in Binance, Kraken, KuCoin to name a few.

ps2: KYC is debateable and highly overrated.

Let's say that I buy 1 BTC from Binance (with my own identity) and I gift it/sell it to someone else (either hand the private key or send it to another address).

Chain analysis companies will still claim it's my own property, even though it no longer is. Roll Eyes

Don't sweat it too much, as long as it's stored in your own personal wallet and not on a CEX (even if it's the "trustworthy" BlackRock with their ESG shenanigans -> could easily steal your BTC IOU if you don't comply to climate change demands for example).
603  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Blockchain Analytics is More of an Art Than Science on: October 26, 2023, 11:42:58 PM
Don't you think the conversation has gone out of the general board's theme? I suggest we keep talking about the analytics and avoid posts regarding society in general.

If you didn't know it, Monero full nodes need to keep all the outputs and be able to efficiently index them, whereas in Bitcoin, you only need to keep UTXOs.

No I didn't, thanks for clarifying that. I don't think satoshi wanted to create a fully anonymous chain, even though your posts are accurate and he seems to be in favor of total anonymity.
But HmmMAA insists Bitcoin was created to take away anonymity. Roll Eyes

LOL @ people who claim multiple cameras can "save" innocent citizens. They're either useful idiots (claiming to have above average IQ Cheesy), or systemic trojan horses/government agents pretending to be laymen citizens. Wink

Let me tell you one thing: the most ancient/advanced camera in the world are your own eyes. Infinite resolution, high frame rate, large color depth...

Have you ever seen magicians performing tricks right in front of your eyes? Were you ever able to figure out how they do it? NO!

So, who the hell tells you that policemen cannot receive magician training to plant you some kind of pill/drug in your car? Roll Eyes

Only dystopia lovers will tell you that... the same kind of people who loved COVID lockdowns (and are going to love cameras in the future to enforce climate lockdowns, because we need "rules" in a society).

Honest question before i proceed to a full reply , how do we know that guy is innocent ?
How do you know he is guilty? Whatever happened to presumption of innocence?

The onus is not on the accused to prove innocence - the onus is on the prosecution to prove guilt. And the onus is not on me to to open myself up to complete scrutiny by blockchain analysis and other government funded mass surveillance tools and prove that I have "nothing to hide".

Innocence is the default position. Privacy is the default position.
HmmMAA loves totalitarian regimes, because apparently they can offer "zero crime".

Innocence as the default position has been lost since March 2020. We're all "guilty" by default and then we have to "prove" we're innocent.

So FATF is coming to crypto after all these years, finally they get it. This makes you wonder, it's not the world elites who run the global policy making machine but rather a bunch of mentally happy people, after 14 years they got this idea.

If anyone doesn't know what is FATF, it is Financial Action Task Force, established to control the "money" in the world, meaning that they would want to know about a transaction even if it was just to buy a cup of coffee, just to make sure there is no money laundering and terrorist financing involved.  If you wanna know whether they monitor all your transactions or not, check to see if your government has signed up to join this task force or not, if they have, you are already exposed.
Welcome to 2030 agenda(a plan for the "new world order", or "novus ordo seclorum").

Governments care for their people (according to some people). Cheesy
608  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin mixing is NOT money laundering, per se on: October 24, 2023, 09:32:44 AM
Lol. You think the government only take action against things which are illegal? The government works exclusively for themselves, and will take action against anyone or anything which threatens them, illegal or not. They'll take action against someone who did nothing except write open source code under the guise of tErRoRiSm, but they will ignore fiat banks laundering literally hundreds of billions of dollars for actual terrorist organizations.

That's exactly the part you fail to understand . Banks do that because there's not a public ledger that they're working on . Bitcoin was built exactly to eliminate that kind of operation . So that anyone can audit and make such behaviors extinct . To make even governments accountable based on evidence , not only banks . Guys like you are trying to create a new ( similar to old , but even more complex for audits ) banking system that gives everyone the opportunity to do what big/bad entities were able to do so far . You don't want a better outcome for the whole , but a better outcome for yourself even if that comes against the interests of the whole , because "privacy" . While we should be here discussing how to better protect our privacy - for example ZK proof for KYC/AML - we are wasting time on how bad governments are . If governments are bad let's make something that can make them better , and not us to become worse than them .
Bitcoin can't be compared with banks , it can be compared with cash  . Bitcoin is a traceable electronic cash system . It was built to take away the worst part of traditional cash which is anonymity . You fail to distinguish the differences between anonymity and pseudonymity and why anonymity can lead to bad results as there are no consequences .
Proof (Satoshi quote) or it didn't happen.

I’m more interested in what will happen if the Internet becomes fragmented into several continents or countries. How to use bitcoin in this case, will there be alternative bitcoin networks, how to make transactions from one fragment of the bitcoin network to another. The scenario with the emergence of a fragmented Internet is more likely than a total shutdown of the Internet, and I think that it is worth reflecting on this topic because of the likely relevance of it.
Bitcoin requires a unified internet. It's not a fragmented currency, therefore it cannot work in intranets (fragmented networks).

Internet is the first decentralized network (minus the DNS Root servers). Bitcoin is the second decentralized network.

Maybe a massive solar flare could shut it down for a few years... Shocked

In the above fictional or imaginary content (OP), the author was imagining the internet to be only one and from that just one source, everything is connected. Maybe the headquarters of the internet is in Washington and Joe Biden is with the key. So, one day he might get sad or depressed and then he will shut the internet from his office in the White House.

The World Wide Web is the biggest decentralized system in the world, so your imagination cannot come to pass. It will just die in imagination. Unless you are one of the people in the world, especially some Africans who believe the world will one day cease to exist.

613  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Can the government acquire all bitcoins either by seizure or purchase? on: October 20, 2023, 01:07:08 PM
@Everyone

HmmMAA is a BSV/CSW cult fanatic that loves spreading misinformation about BTC:

In other words , if governments wanted to destroy bitcoin they would do it in a year . Let's not take too light that their absence of actions means that the network is invulnerable . Bitcoin sooner or later will have to comply with the laws of society , or it will face it's extinction .
Just because you love BSV censorship, it doesn't mean BTC will "comply":

https://twitter.com/BobSummerwill/status/1577714409618931713

If BTC adopts censorship, it's no longer BTC, it will be something else. People will fork it.

And how are you going to enforce equality?
well, if i was all powerful you mean? that would be easy. i would sieze everyone's bank accounts into one big bank account, require each living human being to get their iris scanned using worldcoin and then divide up that big bank account equally among all the real humans. i would also eliminate traditional real estate, demolish it all. then build identical living quarters for everyone. no one would have anything different from anyone else.

right. and in my ideal situation if i was all powerful, you know that type of inequality would never exist. for better OR for worse...i'm sure some people would hate it but that's how it goes. i might even hate it but that's how it would go i guess.

Did you post from the wrong account? You've made no mention in your post history about this.. Or is this another one of those "Hey guys you know way back when I knew something was up and how it would all turn out but I just kept my mouth shut because.. yeah you know."

These hindsight harolds are so incredibly tiresome.
No need to get offended, unless we have talked before.

Someone had told me via PM that 12% sounds enticing and I told him it sounds too good to be true and be cautious (not your keys, not your coins). Do you want to see the PM to be convinced?

Bitcoin doesn't have a central bank to promise guaranteed returns (like FED does with 5% bonds). So whenever someone promises you high yield returns with BTC, you have to wonder if you're the yield.
