601  Economy / Economics / Re: MAP of cbdc adoption over the world. on: September 14, 2022, 04:10:51 PM
It's okay let them do it, waste more money in projects that are not even far from using the banking system.
Then there are applications now where you can send money even with slowest internet. That's their real enemy in this business and perhaps they should just empower that and use one application that will be beneficial for the money.
I still don't understand why they are doing this. Fiat will stay and nothing can prevent that but using CBDC is not the answer to strengthen it or speed things up.
602  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Does altcoins actually have the potentials of generating benefits to investors? on: September 13, 2022, 04:44:21 PM
You just need to find that altcoin with high volatility. That's first when it comes to trading.
Then, see to it that you can take care of it by monitoring the price movement at almost 24/7 of your life. If only your money is on the line.
Altcoins are meant to make you money in the short run, that is my opinion. It's not something to HODL at long term although there are exceptions like Ethereum.
603  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: September 13, 2022, 04:01:26 PM
We cannot never be too sure though, maybe one day we will be surprised about Westbrook being traded already. If he is not having a good season, I don't think the Lakers will still finish the whole season before trading him. Westbrook IMO does not belong to the Lakers, his style does not blend with other superstars like Lebron and Davis.
Westbrook may expect this too, a trade in the middle of the season if they won't see the dominant Westbrook that we once knew.
I agree, he doesn't belong there. He is a leader, not a follower and that is why it would not work with Lebron and AD. I doubt we will see chemistry with them, I just don't see it.
We didn't see it during his OKC career and so will it be with the Lakers.
The commanding type of a player, he likes being on the frontline and not a wingman. It had been years though jumping from one team to another, there must be a change.
604  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: September 12, 2022, 11:24:24 AM
No one really likes Yordenis Ugas, well I don't know why but there is not much fan base for him, while Keith Thurman pretty much has many people backing him up, for me, Thurman got a chance against Ugas, but yes this would surely go the distance both fighters doesn't have that power punch to TKO win an opponent, with Keith Thurman explosive shots and fast combination so the volume of punches will surely let him win, while Yordenis Ugas has a tendency to counter when he caught his opponent with his defense, but Ugas also is a volume puncher, but overall this is an exciting match to see,
I tried to look up the date on when this fight will happen, but it was just said as a potential fight in 2023. I am not sure if that is right.

Regarding popularity, Ugas did float his name wider when he fought with PacMan while Thurman on the other hand is already popular to everyone because of his knockout capability and only one loss that soiled his record.
The big question, is Thurman ready? Because a lot of discussions happened if he avoided the chance for Super World Welterweight match against Ugas because of weight issues. But he fought again in February which is a pretty good sign.
605  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Too good to be true? on: September 10, 2022, 05:07:24 PM
It will be a very rare occasion for that to happen. You may need a bit of luck too.
They always say "do your own research" but even if you do so there will be circumstances that a scam can happen. Most of them are too good to be true projects but what if they are telling the truth.
We tend to go beyond being pessimistic because of our own bad experiences or stories from others who had been to it.
Finding that "gem" that will give you tenfold the profits will be difficult when you are on that kind of perspective. But it's high risk.
If you are the type of investor who like playing it safe, then stick with the reputable one.
606  Economy / Economics / Re: Which city deserves to be the blockchain capital? on: September 10, 2022, 02:51:13 PM
Ownership. It doesn't matter.
Blockchain is used to avoid that. So, there should not be any blockchain capital in the world. It doesn't matter where you are as long as you are using the technology.
If there will be a place where people will visit just to see how cool a blockchain capital is, then we are repeating the mistakes our ancestors did. Let it be free, there is no necessity to put that claim to anyone. If they are doing events then good, if not but the support is intact then cool.
607  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: September 09, 2022, 03:05:38 PM
He can still score from time to time, just like what he did with the Lakers last season and he had multiple games where he scored at least 20++ ppg.

Speaking of the free agent market, I noticed that there are 4 centers in there,

- Dwight Howard
- Demarcus Cousins
- Tristan Thompson
- Hassan Whiteside

Maybe this is another indication that the NBA is really going small basketball and the game has really evolved in the last 10 years.
One more that I think should be positioned in Center instead of Forward is Nemanja Bjelica. But sadly, he will leave NBA and here is the report.
Quote
Free agent Nemanja Bjelica is leaving the Golden State Warriors to play in Turkey with Fenerbahce, per reports. The Warriors were interested in bringing back the 34-year-old veteran on a minimum contract, but Bjelica opted to head overseas, per The Athletic’s Anthony Slater. He is the only player to ever win both a Euroleague MVP and NBA title.
https://www.nba.com/news/nba-offseason-2022-july-1
He may not have found his home in NBA because back in Euroleague he is a superstar and an MVP but not in the NBA or it was not found to be.
Minutes per game were low while Warriors are using small ball play. Maybe he will be better off other teams, but he didn't try and instead just went back to where the cheering is louder for him.
608  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto's biggest flops are now pumping ? But why?! on: September 09, 2022, 09:16:29 AM
Some manipulative move by big bag holders. Careful with this kind of movements, it could be a trap just like other members said.
The chances are they are trying to get out by pumping a coin. Behind this could be those investors that have lost a lot of money due to Terra's failure.
Where would it be best to take back that lost capital, yes at the same platform where they are used at.
If it becomes a hype and the price keeps pumping, they will not even doubt to sell it all in just a short amount of time.
609  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Sentiment Poll for September on: September 08, 2022, 03:53:25 PM
My vote is for $25,000. I love being optimistic about the market when the Ber months come. Sure, we are in a bad economy and inflations happening in different countries, but I still think people find ways at where they would like to invest their Christmas bonus instead of going to waste with spending it for unnecessary things.
If it's not September, then it must be in October. I wish.
610  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: September 08, 2022, 12:06:32 PM
Miami Heat together with the Philadelphia 76ers, are my favorite teams in the East. Miami Heat in spite of competing at the top the in East thru the years always had the cap space to sign even superstars like Giannis, KD, and Mitchell but they always came up short and I wonder why. Is it because they might have a problem with Butler who's known as the heart and soul of Miami or they just simply lost those bids against the other teams?

I consider Butler a superstar. If only they were 100% healthy last season, they may have a real chance of winning. I'm also hoping for Victor Oladipo and Duncan Robinson to step up their games. And maybe Miami can still acquire some new before the season starts.
Heartaches. That includes Tyler Herro being injured, one of their rising stars and a reinforcement for a veteran Kyle Lowry if he feels he needs a rest.
He cannot play above 35 minutes anymore if I am correct although he did play 63 games. Next year they should be focused with their young core to do most of the job.
We don't know if they are preparing something explosive that's why they don't do any movements yet, but I doubt they will let go of Bam. He will be the new face of Miami Heat.
611  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Gala potential? on: September 07, 2022, 10:52:49 AM
Potential is high. This project was created before the pandemic and that may have a lot to do about the value going down in the next few years on lockdown. Before, I even had the idea to buy a node but it's too expensive (at that time). It was $0.5 when I sold some of my funds and honestly, I am part of those who dumped it. After that, I bought it back at a cheaper price because I know about their potential, and I can't just let it go.
It's a biased review since I am also an investor. Let's wait what others would say.
612  Economy / Economics / Re: Why Bitcoin will always remain the best choice on: September 06, 2022, 07:13:31 AM
It would also be beneficial if we could see the difference between digital currencies, it's almost like fiat but it makes life easier. Security though might not be that good but it's expected from a centralized currency.
I don't have gold, but I do use fiat currencies and up until now I like it more than using cards offered by the bank. I like it when I could say it's mine and not a property by the bank that I am just borrowing.
The same goes with Bitcoin, when you purchase it, it's yours. That's what pushed me to invest in it even with all the FUD that is being thrown at it.
613  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: September 05, 2022, 03:23:53 PM
It is hard to trade westbrook because of his humungus contract. I doubt any team will take him without additional picks or good trade package. Lakers has no picks to offer or anyone to package with Westbrook. I do not know if they can buy out his contract so they can replace him with someone better. I do not know if that is viable. If it is, I think that is a better course if Westbrook's performance does not improve or he cannot have chemistry with his other co-superstars.
It will certainly be a waste of money but if there's any solution to this dilemma then that might be it. $47M. I am sure Westbrook will be happy about it.
Then he could just look for a team that would accept him even with a cut to his average price.

If it won't come to that ending, all eyes will be on him if he will have a better season or will it just be the same as last year. Lakers movement of players seems to be exhausted because of their expensive players. The other option that I see is just pay the luxury tax.  Grin
614  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why is Solana still among the top 10 coins in market cap? on: September 05, 2022, 08:48:01 AM
I can't understand why Solana is still at the top, when it's been a victim of constant network outages and hacks.
(....)
First, I believe there were no hacks that happened on the Solana network itself. But I believe the hacks here happened to some platform that is built on top of Solana networks, like the recent Slope wallet issue.
Solana outperformed most of the altcoins on the recent bull run, ROI is really huge from 1 digit to 3 digits in just a short period of time.
Overall, I can say Solana should be in the Top 10 now because of its unique network as the best alternative to Ethereum as a layer-1 network.
Indeed they are. The low transaction fees and speed are the bonus.
We are aching for a top contender versus Ethereum because of it sudden increase in those terms. I doubt investors will just pull out because of an outage.
They invested lots of money so it will be better if they can get the most out of it. Support it by spending more money to continue the hype and after a year or two they will reap those rewards.
Furthermore, there's nothing released yet that would compete near on what they had done.
615  Economy / Speculation / Re: All Eyes On Bitcoin’s Monthly Close on: September 04, 2022, 05:17:15 PM
I have always thought the last bear did happen and we are now on a portion where patience is crucial.
Who will give up? Who have the weakest hands to let go of their investment just because of impatience? Dejavu of what happened before where we are also in a moment that nothing can be done but wait.
And if it's true that the number of weak hands did increase then yes, another plummet will come.
Almost 4 months now that we are playing at 18-21k. I think that's a good sign.
616  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: September 03, 2022, 03:14:34 PM
It would be nice if Clarkson will land to Phoenix, though I doubt if Utah will let him go. He's still young and with

this rebuilding process he can be the main man for this team. The Jazz can surround him with good role players and with those
future picks, he can work on them and utilize those new young bloods.

Though there's nothing is for sure. While you are in this league, we will hear any updates if Jazz will also trade those three known
stars.
That would be awesome. The Sixth Man of the Year becoming the main man. I don't think that happened yet. But, I would like to see Jordan Clarkson being part of the first five and doing what he is good at being a pointguard or a shooting guard.
Maybe we will know after their next move. They still have Mike Conley but that is a veteran, then most of the guards are all young. Its still unpredictable what the Jazz is trying to achieve this moment. Almost like they are starting over from scratch.
617  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BITCOIN IS DEAD! on: September 03, 2022, 09:03:52 AM
Will this be like an annual thing to happen? If it is, then Happy Anniversary to "Bitcoin is Dead."
Because I am getting used to it and it makes me numb every time I read or hear it. There's just not much excitement anymore unlike before. I prefer something new and effective.

Thank you.
You are helping boost the market of Bitcoin again. This is how it started then grew but I doubt this is how it will end.
618  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Maybe some hacks should not be illegal on: September 03, 2022, 04:44:26 AM
Is this some conscience thing? Like psychologically it should be right if the hacker didn't mean to access one funds/private keys? Like picking up money that is dropped by someone else and no one is claiming it? No, I don't think so. We put those at lost and found section.
Think about it, what if it's your private key that was hacked and you don't even have any idea why or how it happened. Just one good hacker targeted you.
Will that be a fun feeling?
It's illegal, it doesn't matter if you just bumped into it, unless the owner himself gave out the private key.

619  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: September 02, 2022, 05:18:21 PM
What do you think the trade would result?

https://www.si.com/nba/2022/09/01/donovan-mitchell-traded-to-cavaliers-per-report

is the Cavaliers now more ready in the playoffs? Last season they have an impressive run but fall short, and now that they have Mitchell, maybe we will see some big improvement especially in the playoffs.

About the Jazz, no more Gobert and Mitchell, who will lead the team? Clarkson?

About the Cavaliers, yes I think they are more ready now. The East will have a better competition in the next season to come.
About the Jazz, it's a white flag. All this moves that they have done is a surrender for this year. They wont' do much but just give experience to their newly organized roster.
Donovan Mitchell will surely love the Cavs intensity. We saw it last season, we will see it again. Reunited with Ricky Rubio.
620  Economy / Economics / Re: Savings during inflation on: September 02, 2022, 10:34:06 AM
This is the reason why I cannot buy anything right now, especially equipment things. It's just that I am keen at price checking and I know how much the difference is today than last year or a couple. It is true, it's doubled, worst some items are tripled in price. I guess my only option is to save it for later or if the equipment is badly a necessity then just swallow the expensive price and don't regret it.
It's difficult to adjust now because the salary is not even changing, it's not levelled with the new price tags in the market.
