I have France to beat Uruguay in regulation time @ 2.05 and Belgium to win or draw vs Brazil @ 1.8. To me France are the biggest contenders to win the world cup in Russia and I would place them before Brazil. I think they will have no problems to outclass and defeat Uruguay without the need of any extra time and penalties. Brazil and Belgium will be a very interesting match to watch. 2 of the best teams of the tournament with some of the best attacking formations. I am rooting for Belgium but I have the feeling the match will end in a draw and there will be extra time in this one. I also like both teams to score and FT Draw. Good luck everyone and have fun  Cheesy

Wow the 2nd half of the Colombia - England match was brutal. Yellow cards were flying left and right and it's a miracle that no-one received a red. I wasn't sure if I was watching football or rugby - there were so many fouls and the game was being stopped every few seconds. England broke their curse of getting eliminated in penalty shootouts so that was a breath of fresh air for them at least.

Hey mate nice picks you have there  Cheesy I had Sweden to win as well and was pretty confident in them going through and they didn't disappoint. England is my slight favorite against Colombia in the other match. The English have a very balanced squad and unlike previous years they have learned to play as a team. Harry Kane is on fire too. Colombia are not to be underestimated though. I agree that the safest bet is over goals. Good luck!
625  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA World Cup 2018 Russia - the Journey on: July 03, 2018, 04:16:39 PM
Yeah the VAR is responsible for penalties galore. I think like 90% of all VAR reviews have ended with a penalty haha. Unfortunately we didn't see a lot of goals in the first match today. Sweden were very solid defensively and neutralized the Swiss attack. The Swedish don't have any super stars but they are very solid tactically and show some good teamplay.

Day 4 of Round of 16 matches. We have Colombia - England and Sweden - Switzerland on the schedule today. Both games can easily go either way and I don't see any big favorites so I am going to bet on goals instead. We have seen so many goals already and with the matches being so unpredictable I think the safest bet here would be both teams to score. Good luck and have fun  Cool
627  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA WORLD CUP 2018? on: July 03, 2018, 06:51:12 AM
Today is a swedish match against Switzerland, I prefer Sweden to go into the next round. But I see switzerland statistics that they are more in the favorite. 25% for Swedish victory and 35% for Swiss victory. If their match today continues into the penalty just their luck and their superior mentality will win the match.

Its going to be a tough one to predict the winner between Sweden and Switzerland. I read some 'experts analysis' but they are divided as well. But yeah it looks like the bookies have put Switzerland as the favourite here.

Sweden prefer a physical style of play and if they successfully neutralize the dangerous attackers of Switzerland I can see them go through to the quarter-finals. I watched the Switzerland vs Serbia match and the Swiss got very lucky. On the other hand Sweden efficiently shut down Germany until that late Toni Kroos goal and beat Mexico 3-0. Sweden to qualify for the better odds  Wink

Yeah I don't know what the commentators are on about saying it's Messi's final appearance for Argentina. He's still got a few Copas left in him, he can still play a big role in qualifying for next one, and I don't see why he can't hold out for another 4 years. He's still on top of his game. Form is temporary, and his class just gets better and better. Of course, if others step up, then why not? But too early to speculate on his retirement.

I didn't see the 1-1 draws leading to penalties. Definitely didn't see the second match to preserve the scoreline for 120 minutes after the early salvo of goals. I'm really beginning to enjoy the tournament finally.

Let's see if I can snap a 5-day losing streak with separate bets on Japan to progress @6.04 and Mexico to follow @4.64:

I don't think so, probably Eurocup for 2020 if he performs exceptionally well in Barca in the next 2 years, but this pretty pointless since as we know Messi doesn't perform as good in the Argentina team. I think it's over for Messi, definitely he will not be in 2022 world cup again, so 2020 Euro is last chance, same for Ronaldo, but Ronaldo already got the Euro, he is missing a world cup and this was his last chance.

Messi is Argentinian and he plays for the national team of Argentina. Euro 2020 is a competition for European teams only mate. Messi can't play there even if he wished to  Grin Argentina needs a new captain along with a new manager it seems. Their stars are getting old - above 30 y.o. I think the new manager should invest in Dybala. He is 24 and could be the new leader Messi wasn't cut out to be.
629  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do whales really control the market, or is that a myth on: July 02, 2018, 12:59:49 PM
Is there any evidence that these mysterious 'whales' really control the bitcoin market, or is this a myth generated as people try to understand why bitcoin prices go up and down?

I don't really believe in it because there is no evidence of the same happening. However, the whales are actually the big money hoarders so they have some controlling interests on the price of a cryptocurrency. But one thing I always fail to understand and I have asked this same questions to many places in this forum. Not yet received a satisfactory reply yet.

Lets assume, I hold 100,000 of bitcoins. So as a whale, why would I want the bitcoin's price to go down? If the price increases, my net worth will be increasing and I will have more purchasing power. So I fail to understand people, when they say that whales are behind this price crash. How and why?? Can anyone provide a proper understanding?

It's very simple mathematics. Let's say 1 Bitcoin is worth $10. A whale has 1000 Bitcoins and he wants to accrue more. What can he do to achieve this fast? He starts selling a portion of his stash  and pushes the price of Bitcoin down to $9. Let's say he sold half of his coins. Now the public starts to panic sell and the price goes even lower to $4.5. Now the whale can buy back the coins he sold at $9 for $4.5 a pop. He effectively doubled his coins. Now he has 2000 Bitcoins at $4.5 each. But a lot of other people start buying again and the price goes back to that $10 threshold. The whale is happy with his 200% profit.

Pump and dump 101.
630  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do whales really control the market, or is that a myth on: July 02, 2018, 10:09:31 AM
You need money to make more money it's as simple as that. And the whales have so much money available to them that they can influence the Bitcoin price at their whim. I don't think the big swings happen in a natural way and more likely there is someone or a group of people pulling the strings. It's not a myth but rather real. As for getting evidence one could monitor what volumes of Bitcoin are being bought and sold at major exchanges but that's a very strenuous task.

Day 3 of the Round of 16 matches. We have the favorites Brazil and Belgium facing Mexico and Japan respectively. There is nothing special to analyze about these 2 matches - Brazil and Belgium need to win. And because the odds are low I am going to parlay Brazil FT & Belgium FT. I hope they will do their job within 90 minutes and not go into extra time like the 2 matches yesterday evening. Good luck guys  Wink
632  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA WORLD CUP 2018? on: July 02, 2018, 08:36:50 AM
I don't know what is going on with the big favorites but this World Cup has proven itself to be absolutely mad lol. Croatia were on the brink of elimination! The 2nd half of the Croatia - Denmark match was so mind-numbingly boring that I wanted to turn the TV off  Shocked Fortunately the penalties were the highlight of the match and at least we got some dramatic action going with some brilliant saves by both goalies. I think Denmark deserved the win though.
633  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA WORLD CUP 2018? on: July 01, 2018, 05:37:48 PM
Spain have around 80% possession and over 1000 passes and still can't make any dangerous attacks lol.
They had those ridiculous statistics but still failed to even score a goal...against fucking Russia...pathetic performance from Spain. They were shit in the group stages, and they were shit today.

Germany, Argentina, Portugal, Spain...this WC has been...wow!

Now Russia will pay against Croatia or Denmark in the QF...I can totally see them in the semis  Shocked

The funny thing is that De Gea didn't manage to save 1 shot while Akinfeev stopped 2. Maybe the Russians just got lucky who knows, but to have maybe the best goalkeeper in the world and to not be able to stop 1 penalty shot. Just wow  Shocked The manager situation in the Spanish team might have played a part in their failure? I bet the party will be going all night and a lot of vodka will be drunk tonight in Russia  Grin
634  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I never sold my First bitcoin. Are you also emotionally bound to bitcoin? on: July 01, 2018, 05:03:45 PM
Some people keep their first banknotes they have earned doing their first jobs so maybe it makes sense to keep your first Bitcoin if you are getting a salary in crypto instead of fiat that is. Otherwise I wouldn't be too emotional about some virtual token whose main purpose is speculative trading. Physical Bitcoin coins are nice though. I would keep one of those  Grin
635  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA WORLD CUP 2018? on: July 01, 2018, 04:14:55 PM
Spain have around 80% possession and over 1000 passes and still can't make any dangerous attacks lol. This slow tiki-taka style of play is old and boring and Spain are absolutely toothless on the attack. I think if Spain somehow manage to defeat Russia they will have a very hard time vs a more potent team in the quarter-finals. Penalties are coming  Cool
636  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA World Cup 2018 Russia - the Journey on: July 01, 2018, 01:39:38 PM
I fancy France to beat Uruguay. Uruguay have Suarez and Cavani but France have much more talent in their squad. Kylian Mbappe is in form and he is tearing up the opposing defences like there is no tomorrow. Football is unpredictable though and underdogs can get the better of favorites and that's why it's such a great sport to watch  Cool

Onto the Spain - Russia match. The Spanish defence has been shaky and De Gea hasn't been showing his best lately. Russia started strong vs mediocre teams but once they faced a serious team like Uruguay they got beaten badly 3-0. However being the host country and having all these fans on the stadium I think Russia will be very motivated today and hopefully will score a goal. I am going with both teams to score. Also eyeing the over 2.5 goals market for a live bet. Happy watching  Cheesy
637  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA WORLD CUP 2018? on: July 01, 2018, 01:23:23 PM
Guys do you think Cristiano Ronaldo and Leo Messi met at the airport on the way home? They could have even taken the same flight lol. Wouldn't that be very awkward?  Grin I am wondering if Diego Maradona will stay in Russia till the final or he is also leaving now that Argentina have been knocked out of the tourney.
638  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA World Cup 2018 Russia - the Journey on: June 30, 2018, 08:20:29 PM
Ronaldo didn't have a day and Portugal ran out of luck. Uruguay were overall the better team and deserved the win more. Cavani is a world class striker and outshined everyone today. I hope he didn't suffer a serious injury and will be fit for the next match. The referee made a lot of questionable choices though especially at the end. When Ronaldo gets shut down Portugal can't win.

Hmm dude can you stop this thinly veiled advertisement for ECoBetting already?  Grin It's painfully obvious you are not asking genuine questions here and are looking to promote the aforementioned site. Can you enlighten us if you are the owner or the campaign manager for Bitcointalk forum?  Wink You are not fooling anyone by the way.

Oh man what a great spectacle. I thought we would see dry goalless 90 minutes and then overtime and couldn't be more wrong haha. Kylian Mbappe is the second teenager after Pele to score 2 goals in one World Cup game. He is hands down man of the match. Someone should upload the France - Argentina match to Pornhub  Grin I hope Diego Maradona is still alive lol  Cool
I think he faded away just like in Infinity war.
We wont be hearing about him again in this world cup. Lips sealed

Messi in his last world cup? Embarrassed
https://twitter.com/CrisStaxxx/status/1013090995267883010

Did you notice how the Argentinian fans booed the French national anthem? Karma is a bitch sometimes haha. I have nothing against Diego Maradona personally but he strikes me as a very arrogant person aside from being coked up and high as a kite on all occasions. I have heard he got paid to be on the stadium and received a daily allowance along with some of his friends and bodyguard etc. Messi is not a leader like Ronaldo and Argentina should have been eliminated in the group stage had it not been for that big luck in the late minutes vs Nigeria.
