If Bitalo gives me a call, I will gladly hand over my server log files and help them any way I can.

Boundy is nice, but I would help anyway because the guy called me fat and hurt my feelings.  Embarrassed

Thanks for visiting.  I have your information in my server log and would gladly hand it over to law enforcement.
There's a 110BTC bounty on the script kiddie(D D 4 B C). If you really think you can find him go ahead and claim it, but even script kiddie's usually know how to use TOR Tongue .
The instructions for Bitalo's bounty say to contact the law enforcement agency directly. More info can be found here.

Since it is apparent he has a decent botnet to even do these attacks, it is unlikely he used a trackable IP.

Also how do you know which IP address is his and which ones are random forum people that clicked the link?

Good luck in the hunt though, keep us informed. I like a good read.

Is it possible to counter-ping and drive the units that are part of the DDoS off-line?

Ping is old school and not likely what they are using depending what the attackers were able to find out while prepare for this attack they then customize their DDoS to be most effective.  For instance you do an nslookup and find the company runs its own DNS servers then a DNS DDoS attack might be very effective, but if their DNS is served by netsol not so much as you can not put a dent in netsol. In any case no you can not return the attack.  Cause the attack is likely coming from 1000s of places to a central point this cause being Antpool.  There are many many things they can do though both with new services/infrastructure and existing.

Maybe I should hit up Antpool for a side job lol  Grin

As a Network Security Engineer/Architect.  I am really surprised companies do not design their infrastructure to handle this or mitigate it.

This is not Astrophysics.

626  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTB] Large amounts of Bitmine Coincraft Desk G2 on: March 19, 2015, 03:39:13 AM
It's  a shame you're in Texas as my friend has 6 of these for sale you can pickup for a really cheap price considering.

Have you tried approaching Bitmine with an offer. I think they still have a ton of these they haven't sold because they are asking ridiculous prices.

I could of sworn Bitmine was out of business and liquidating in bankruptcy already, but I can give them a try.

I could buy 6 but looking for more like 50.  Shipping would kill from Canada or US, does he happen to cross the border every now and then?  Grin

Funding for an initial batch will depend heavily on chip costs. We're guessing probably around $30k for 500 boards but hopefully that's a high estimate.

630  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do you earn your bitcoins ? on: March 18, 2015, 08:47:58 PM

1. Mine BTC
2. Mine Altcoins then trade for BTC
3. Whore out my Datacenter Design and Network Security skills to BTC miners, and get paid in BTC

1. Mining BTC is no longer profitable if you are solo miner and have to buy energy without any discounts.
2. Mining altcoins is like hit and miss. Altcoins mining and then pump and dump scheme every time is just not good.
3. If you are not a tech person and just bitcoin enthusiast it something really hard to do.

1. It is very profitable for me. (I am very sure why people always say its not, obviously there are multi-million dollar datacenters doing just fine)
2. I just point them to a multipool and let it do the work (It just so I have scrypts to play with)
3. If I wasn't very good at it I would'n t offer it, so yes I am a super tech person (I can build you a MPLS network from the ground up using ethernet, DWDM, etc etc while browsing this forum and half asleep)

So, questions? Comments? Sandwiches? We're not really getting paid to design all this stuff so "keep up the good work" sandwich donations are more than welcome.

I have some questions.

Are grilled cheese sandwiches okay?

At the current rate how long are you looking to have your first ones ready to be sold?

How much funding are you needing for "preorders"/manufacturing?

633  Economy / Computer hardware / [WTB] Large amounts of Bitmine Coincraft Desk G2 on: March 18, 2015, 03:46:41 PM
Hello,

I am looking for large amounts of Bitmine Coincraft Desk G2, looking for the 5 card models with the original or better PSU.  Must be functional I would be willing to pickup in most US cities, I am located in Houston, TX if you are selling less then 10 to me shipping them will probably be the best option.

Escrow is a must.

Please post or PM me thanks.
634  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you trust yourself to manage your own private keys? on: March 18, 2015, 03:31:35 PM
I trust myself.  After all my daily job is a Network Security Engineer, I think I will manage my own private keys.

635  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Where to buy miners on: March 18, 2015, 03:41:49 AM
There are a few companies that have mines in stock and will sell them directly to you. Although one has come under fire but not for their delivery of hardware.  Bitmain, ASICminer, Avalon4.  There are other clone type people you can order from also Bitcrane, XBtec,

Or

Buy off ebay, or used of the marketplace section from a trusted person and use escrow.

Good luck, glad to see people still wanting to mine.
636  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Getting Started. What hardware for 4 Amperes max. on: March 18, 2015, 03:26:52 AM
You basically have 800W of power to use.  Really 880W but you can not run a breaker at 100% as it will build heat and trip.

So get the most efficient miner you can that will run at 800W@wall.  Probably get a used SP20E or a Avalon4.
637  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] A bunch of old gear on: March 17, 2015, 09:51:25 PM
UPS is not fast about refund for damaged hardware but they do it in a timely manner.  From my experience it is usually about 2 weeks.
638  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: {WTB} Antminer S3 for $100 in bitcoin on: March 17, 2015, 06:21:03 PM
How many you want? 10? 20?  I might be able to part with a couple.  Where are you located?
639  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] Two Antminer S3 miners (US only) on: March 17, 2015, 06:11:19 PM
I would be interested but price is too steep for my blood.  I am in Houston, TX 77002 if you think we can save some money on shipping or else where to lower the price I will take both.

I am just a poor miner trying to hit ROI
640  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Non-Bitcoin Uses for Old ASIC Miners? on: March 17, 2015, 05:55:50 PM
When my Antminer C1's get old, I plan to use them to heat the swimming pool water.
